OCTOSPI on STM32U5F9ZJT6Q

Dear, 

Can you confirm that OCTOSPI P2 is available only on WLCSP208 and TFBGA216 packages of this series? 

I wanted to use both OCTOSPI interfaces in LQFP144, but noticed that there is missing only OCTOSPIM_P2_IO3 line in it, so my conclusion is that LQFP144 supports only one OCTOSPI. Is that right?

Hello @Ivica,

According to the datasheet DS14395 Rev 2 Table 2. STM32U5Fxxx features and peripheral counts.

The STM32U5F9ZJ supports only one OCTOSPI interface. If you want to use two XSPIs interfaces with STM32U5F9ZJ package, I recommend you to use the OCTOSPI interface and HSPI interface, which are supported on STM32U5F9ZJ package.

I will check internally is there any restriction to use the multiplexed mode on STM32U5F9ZJ? And there a way to mux/map via the SPIM provided to escape OCTOSPIM_P2_NCS?

I confirm that the STM32U5F9ZJ supports the multiplexed mode.

This behavior will be explained in the coming datasheet revision, for example by adding note for STM32U5F9ZJ package “Two OCTOSPIs are available only in muxed MODE “ on table 2
