>>... without having Workbench or CubeMX
I'm trying to cover the bases, there are some that would question the need to install 1GB+ of clag to compile a code change covering a handful of lines.
Perhaps in Linux?
Up vote any posts that you find helpful, it shows what's working..

This seems to be entirely unrelated to the topic of this thread ?
Please keep to one topic/question per thread.
When that topic/question is resolved, mark the key post which resolved it as 'Best Answer' - so that it appears as 'Answered' in the forum listings:
The one you've currently marked as 'Best Answer' is a new question - it doesn't answer anything!

This seems to be a screenshot of some sort of automotive communication bus tool - what does it have to do with ST or STM32 ?
Have you checked the documentation for that tool ?
You seem to be using CAN - so have you spent some time on the basics of CAN ?
