2500 W motor control power board based on STGIB30M60TS-L SLIMM™ 2nd serie IPM

Hi I am using this board ''2500 W motor control power board based on STGIB30M60TS-L SLIMM™ 2nd
serie IPM'', to control the induction motor. However, I face some challanges especially with shunt resistors. These resistors get burnt out easily if there are any spikes or noise in the system. Also, when the SD pin triggers due to the noise, it is impossible to turn PWM for IPM, although the SD pin is deactivated after awhile. In the manual of this board, the RC filter is mentioned as being placed to prevent short circuits due to noise on the shunt resistor. These RC filters are R23, R18, R21, R24, and C19; however, R18, R21, and R24 are not used on this board. So, I am planning to use external current sensors instead of these shunt resistors. My question here is, ''Is it possible to remove/bypass these shunt resistors and use external sensors instead?''

Hello @Alharbi and welcome to ST community,

You are right, R18, R21, and R24 are not present on this board.
You can modify this path but if you replace the Rshunt value please create a Custom STEVAL-IPM30B.json file with this updated value and regenerate a new project.

If you agree with the answer, please accept it by clicking on 'Accept as solution'.
Best regards.
