ethernet interrupt not working

root437
Associate II

I send an ethernet packet to MAC address 00:80:E1:00:00:00 but no interrupt occurs in STM

Enabled Ethernet interrupts in CubeMX.

What could be wrong?

Correct.

>Should I have taken any additional steps?

Your code does not show (or I don't see it?) assignment of DMA descriptors and memory buffers.

Unfortunately ST does not provide examples without LwIP or AzureRTOS.

Such examples IIRC were available before the "rework" (version 1.9.*)

Found some example. Changed the code:

static void MX_ETH_Init(void)
{

  /* USER CODE BEGIN ETH_Init 0 */

  /* USER CODE END ETH_Init 0 */

   static uint8_t MACAddr[6];

  /* USER CODE BEGIN ETH_Init 1 */

  /* USER CODE END ETH_Init 1 */
  heth.Instance = ETH;
  MACAddr[0] = 0x00;
  MACAddr[1] = 0x80;
  MACAddr[2] = 0xE1;
  MACAddr[3] = 0x00;
  MACAddr[4] = 0x00;
  MACAddr[5] = 0x00;
  heth.Init.MACAddr = &MACAddr[0];
  heth.Init.MediaInterface = HAL_ETH_RMII_MODE;
  heth.Init.TxDesc = DMATxDscrTab;
  heth.Init.RxDesc = DMARxDscrTab;
  heth.Init.RxBuffLen = 1536;

  /* USER CODE BEGIN MACADDRESS */

    HAL_ETH_GetMACFilterConfig(&heth, &macfilter);
    macfilter.ReceiveAllMode=0;
    macfilter.SrcAddrFiltering=1;
    macfilter.PromiscuousMode=0;
    macfilter.ControlPacketsFilter=ETH_MACPFR_PCF_FORWARDPASSEDADDRFILTER;
    HAL_ETH_SetMACFilterConfig(&heth, &macfilter);
    HAL_ETH_SetSourceMACAddrMatch(&heth, ETH_MAC_ADDRESS1, &MACAddr[0]);

  /* USER CODE END MACADDRESS */

  if (HAL_ETH_Init(&heth) != HAL_OK)
  {
    Error_Handler();
  }

  memset(&TxConfig, 0 , sizeof(ETH_TxPacketConfig));
  TxConfig.Attributes = ETH_TX_PACKETS_FEATURES_CSUM | ETH_TX_PACKETS_FEATURES_CRCPAD;
  TxConfig.ChecksumCtrl = ETH_CHECKSUM_IPHDR_PAYLOAD_INSERT_PHDR_CALC;
  TxConfig.CRCPadCtrl = ETH_CRC_PAD_INSERT;
  /* USER CODE BEGIN ETH_Init 2 */

  //Initialize TX DMA descriptor list
        for(int i = 0; i < ETH_TX_DESC_CNT; i++)
        {
           //The descriptor is initially owned by the DMA
      	  DMATxDscrTab[i].DESC0 = 0;
      	  DMATxDscrTab[i].DESC1 = 0;
      	  DMATxDscrTab[i].DESC2 = 0;
      	  DMATxDscrTab[i].DESC3 = 0;
        }
        txIndex = 0;

  //Initialize RX DMA descriptor list
      for(int i = 0; i < ETH_RX_DESC_CNT; i++)
      {
         //The descriptor is initially owned by the DMA
    	  DMARxDscrTab[i].DESC0 = (uint32_t) rxBuffer[i];
    	  DMARxDscrTab[i].DESC1 = 0;
    	  DMARxDscrTab[i].DESC2 = 0;
    	  DMARxDscrTab[i].DESC3 = ETH_RDES3_OWN | ETH_RDES3_IOC | ETH_RDES3_BUF1V;
      }
      rxIndex = 0;

  HAL_ETH_MspInit(&heth);
  HAL_ETH_Start_IT(&heth);

  /* USER CODE END ETH_Init 2 */

}

Error persists: DMACSR  = 0x00004080

It works like this now:

1 enters HAL_ETH_IRQHandler interrupt

2 is included in HAL_ETH_RxCpltCallback

3 is returned in HAL_ETH_IRQHandler

4 I get an error in the block:

/* ETH DMA Error */
  if (__HAL_ETH_DMA_GET_IT(heth, ETH_DMACSR_AIS))
  {
    if (__HAL_ETH_DMA_GET_IT_SOURCE(heth, ETH_DMACIER_AIE))
    {
      heth->ErrorCode |= HAL_ETH_ERROR_DMA;

      /* if fatal bus error occurred */
      if (__HAL_ETH_DMA_GET_IT(heth, ETH_DMACSR_FBE))
      {
        /* Get DMA error code */
        heth->DMAErrorCode = READ_BIT(heth->Instance->DMACSR, (ETH_DMACSR_FBE | ETH_DMACSR_TPS | ETH_DMACSR_RPS));

        /* Disable all interrupts */
        __HAL_ETH_DMA_DISABLE_IT(heth, ETH_DMACIER_NIE | ETH_DMACIER_AIE);

        /* Set HAL state to ERROR */
        heth->gState = HAL_ETH_STATE_ERROR;
      }
      else
      {
        /* Get DMA error status */
        heth->DMAErrorCode = READ_BIT(heth->Instance->DMACSR, (ETH_DMACSR_CDE | ETH_DMACSR_ETI | ETH_DMACSR_RWT |
                                                               ETH_DMACSR_RBU | ETH_DMACSR_AIS));

        /* Clear the interrupt summary flag */
        __HAL_ETH_DMA_CLEAR_IT(heth, (ETH_DMACSR_CDE | ETH_DMACSR_ETI | ETH_DMACSR_RWT |
                                      ETH_DMACSR_RBU | ETH_DMACSR_AIS));
      }

What I discovered:

I'm using the *.ld files from the LWIp Ethernet project configuration example.

If I use *.ld files that CubeMX itself generates, then it does not go to the HAL_ETH_RxCpltCallback function
