Its done the same way. The register to adjust the output level works on the output of the external or internal PA.

When using an external PA the amplifier source is changed but the RF output signal is still controlled with the register ST25RU3993_REG_MODULATORCONTROL3 via the bits Tx_lev[0..2] and Tx_lev[3..4]
