Working on an application with IPM STGIF5CH60TS-L

Q1: It has max current rating of 8A; however, i can not find the power rating in datasheet. How to determine its power rating?

Q2: How to determine the max RPM that it can drive given # of poles?

Q3: it supports voltage up to 600v per datasheet. Is there issue if I use a 24 vdc as power (P)?

Hello @GChen.13 and welcome to the ST Community.

I edited the post and unified the questions.

Q1: in the STGIF5CH60TS-L datasheet Table 2 (page 4) you can find the total power dissipation for each IGBT (at 25°C).

Q2: for an AC motor, the number of poles and the frequency determine the no-load RPM.

(Hz x 60 x 2) / number of poles = no-load RPM

Q3: you can use a positive DC input of 24 Vdc.

Thank you for your response.

Q1: The datasheet calls out the tot Power at IGBT, which is not what I asked. The power in my question is the power requirement from the application.

Q2: I know how to calculate RPM. The question is what the the output freq (HZ) limit on each drive. I do not find this spec in the datasheet.

Hi @GChen.13

Q1: in the datasheet you can find only the current and power ratings of the power stage embedded.

I do not understand what do you mean with "application", but normally is the whole system.

In this case, you have to drive the application in order to do not exceed the above mentioned ratings.

Q2: if you mean the IPM switching characteristics, you can refer to Table 7 and Figure 3 to derive the necessary info.
