The pinout of the connector and USB controller I am using means that I need to flip the differential signals either side of the ECMF4-20A42N10.
The layout would be a lot cleaner if I could swap D+/- signals on this device. For example:
Swap Pins 9/10 and 1/2. So the flow through direction is still the same, but D+/- signals are swapped.
From the representation diagram in the datasheet it appears I can, but I would like to confirm please.
Thanks,
Peter

Dear Peter,
You can swap D+/- on ECMF4-20A42N10 without any issue, as lines D+ and D- are identical.
So swapping pins 9/10 and 1/2 is OK.
An important point is to let pins 1,2,4, 5 on connector side, as there is ESD protection against IEC 61000-4-2 ESD.
Best regards.
Fabrice.
