STR710 and J1850

Hi everyone,

We need to connect our STR710 with passenger cars, from 1996 and newer. They tend to provide an OBD interface, which follows the SAE J1850 norm. Ford uses PWM modulation, while GM uses VPW (variable pulse width) to carry information. That modulation is time based, so ones and zeroes are defined with length, not electrical levels.

My question: has anyone used a line transceiver or a device of some sort to successfully plug those protocols and retrieve information from the vehicle serial bus?

Thanks for any input,

Tech

hi:

I use FZ2, but I use another chip --atmega16 to process these protocol : J1850PWM,J1850VPM, KeyWord2000,ISO9141...., if you only use FZ2, I think these will affect the keypad .
