1MB is baudrate, 50KB is 'goodput' (amount of bits moved over the air in 1 seconds)

Ok. I tested 480600 baud/sec and that had around 40kB of data througput using http connections (I could not reach the same data rate using sockets, though).

So I assume that the 50kB/s limit is due to the firmware implementation. Do ST provide a firmware for 

SPWF01SA with SPI exposed for higher throughput? Or is it possible to change the firmware ourselves?
