What is the maximum and minimum exposure area in m² of the VL53L5CX in 8x8 Mode?

Hello STCommunity,

I can't find some data about the exposure area in m² of the VL53L5CX ToF-Sensor, there is only the FOV in degree mentioned in the flyers and datasheet, as you can see below.0693W00000QKDdUQAX.pngI look forward to hearing from you.

kind regards

Maik H.

The easy way to think about this is that at some distance N, the area of illumination is NxN.

So at 30cm away from a wall, the effective field of view is 30cm x 30cm.

And with the sensor 1M from the target the FoV is m².

To be sure there might be 'splash' as only the FoV is fully illuminated. The area around the edges will still be illuminated, but to a smaller degree. And within a few degrees the light falls off.
