VL53L1 interrupt problem

joh.5
Associate II

Hello.

Isn't the period of interrupt not in timing budget?

When tested indoors, the period of the interrupt is the timing budget.

However, when testing outdoors, the interrupt cycle is irregular.

If you look at UM2133 - Rev 6 page 11, what is reported when a target is not detected.

If it is not detected, it should be reported as not detected, but no interrupt is generated.

I am assuming you have a distance threshold.

Indoors, whenever that threshold is met, you get a nice consistent interrupt.

Outdoors, in bright sun light, the sensor doesn't work as well. And it may be that the threshold can not be met in those light conditions so the sensor just gives up.
