Hi,
I'm trying the STAIoT Craft platform and I'm having issues trying out the IoT Systems.
So far I've tried cloning and deploying two samples:
This is my setup:
I cloned the sample projects from the STAIoT Craft Homepage and just tried them out. I followed the instructions for deployment (flashing the sensortile, downloading Raspberry OS and configurations...) as described by the step-by-step procedure.
This is a screenshot of the issue with the Smart Asset Tracking sample:
I tried clicking on "Apply Manifest" but it didn't change the results:
Just to be sure, I tried the Human Activity Recognition sample, with the same result:
The only thing that is not clear to me (but I tried both ways) is if SensorTile and Raspberry have to be ON before I connect them with the USB Cable (or if this makes any difference).
Let me know if there is other information I can provide to debug this.
Thank you,
Claudio

Hi Claudio,
it seems your browser is preventing ST AIoT Craft web app opening a browser tab automatically. Please double check your browser settings: Pop-ups and redirects option must be set to Allow.
To resolve, keeping ST AIoT Craft web app opened, please, follow below steps:
Hope it might help. Don't hesitate to ask if the issue persists.

Davide

Hey there Claudio,
I believe the application requests permission to open a pop-up window at that point, did you grant it? There should be an icon in the address bar just to the left of the bookmark star.
By the way, the screenshots are barely readable, if your problem isn't solved would you mind posting somewhat larger ones?
Regards,
Beniamino

Hi, thanks for the fast reply and sorry for the low quality images!
Sure, that solved part of the issue (my bad, but also: I wasn't seeing any pop-up asking to allow redirects)
Now, this is where I get after authorizing:
Is "edgeAgent" being red an issue?
Also, unless I go to "Monitor" and click on "Start Inferencing" the leaf is shown as "Disconnected".
Last week I had an issue where the "monitor" graph wasn't updating properly.
Anyway, I was on a different browser where redirect are active by default and on an older version of the gateway OS (20241030_1_2_0_rc1).
Also: it was telling I was able to start monitoring even though "gateway activity log" advertised an issue.
By the way, everything seems to work now with the Human Activity Sample, I will try the other sample tomorrow and eventually let you know.
Hope image quality is better because other than reducing the screenshot size and selecting image-size-large I don't know what I can do :)

Hi Claudio, sorry for the late response.
Is "edgeAgent" being red an issue?
Nope, it is not an issue at all.
unless I go to "Monitor" and click on "Start Inferencing" the leaf is shown as "Disconnected"
That's correct as well. Gateway connects the leaf device to the cloud once you configure the overall system in Inference mode.
Hope image quality is better because other than reducing the screenshot size and selecting image-size-large I don't know what I can do :)
Yep, perfect now :)

Hi Claudio,
Happy to read that your IoT system is up and running in the end.
Concerning the gateway image (20241030_1_2_0_rc1), whenever a new version is suggested by the configuration procedure of a certain get-started project, it is generally better to use that one, especially in case it is a major release. Nevertheless, even if you stick to an old version, the gateway downloads the required software autonomously (i.e. Docker images), thus ending up in an updated image; it takes time, but it takes time to download and flash a new image too, so the choice really depends on your Internet connection speed.
Best regards,
Davide
