STM32CubeMX (MCUs)

Hi,I would like to enable DMA for the FATFS+SDIO on my STM32F103RET6 board. However, I could not find the option in the Middleware -> FATFS -> Advanced Settings. Do you guys know what's happening?Environment:STM32CubeMX ver 5.4.0STM32CubeF1 Firmware Package V1.8.0SD with 4 bits wide bus SDIOUbuntu 18.04This is what it looks like:This is what I think it should be:(I created a project with STM32F401 and it supports "Use dma template".)Btw, I tried the follows and they worked:Without FATFS, HAL_SD_ReadBlocks() and HAL_SD_WriteBlocks();Without FATFS, HAL_SD_ReadBlocks_DMA() and HAL_SD_WriteBlocks_DMA();With FATFS, HAL_SD_ReadBlocks() and HAL_SD_WriteBlocks(), mounting, opening, writing, reading, and closing;Does anyone have idea on how to enable the DMA for FATFS+SDIO?Thanks!

Hello,I am using STM32 CubeMX tool for code generation and using Keil IDE with STM32F479NI Eval board.For my application I want to generate N pulses on PWM channel using One pulse Mode (OPM).observed that , current example firmware uses OPM with one input channel ( input trigger ) and one output channel (PWM output). but I have only output channel for output pulses.According to "Application note: General-purpose timer cookbook for STM32 microcontrollers"this can be possible. But, I couldn't get expected results and also confused with cubeMX settings for the same. Could you please help me for the same?

i put external clock 25Mhz and and via ppl clock couldnt get 180MHz

Noticed that new Cube versions and CubeIDE, generate initialization code for UARTs TX and RX pins with GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_LOWPrevious Cube versions (at least 4.x) generate instead GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_VERY_HIGH.Was this change intentional?GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_LOW seems to work on H7 at least at 115200. But can it make trouble at higher speeds?-- pa

Hi,regarding the lwip stack in cube-mx (currently 5.4) the version is fixed at 2.0.3 .Is there a plan to move on to the current version 2.1.2 of the stack?If not, are there any known pitfalls, when manually migrating the underlying stack to another version? (-> where can I find Info on what is CubeMX-specific?)Best regards, Jan

helloYesterday I was update my cubeMX to v5.4.0 and I trying generate any code and that was showing popup error : "The Code is succesfully generated under: <project localization> but MDK-ARM V5 project generation have a problem."The strange think is that working in my notebook w/ same versions. i am use NUCLEO -F429ZI Bord stm32cubemx 5.4.0 with atollic truestudio 9.3.0 and also stm32cubeide 1.1.0 i will use our customized SD CARD SDIO BORD i will make code for SDIO1 bit SDIO with FATFS will work perfectly at system freq180mhz and SDIO freq is 90MHzbut in 4 bit SDIO with FATFS at system freq180mhz and SDIO freq is 90MHz will not working .and generate error FR_DISK_ERR or FR_NO_FILESYSTEMi will read post try solution like...1) turn down SDIO frequency at 24MHZ 2)i will check SDIO pull ups of SDIO line and its perfect3) check trace of SDIO its perfect4) try SDIO 4 bit with DMA5) change and format SD CARDS 6)change the format of SD CARDS7)connect 8Mhz crystal and change clock frequency to external 8MHz 8)download latest version's of CUBEMX and CUBEIDE 9) i will attach my generated codes but i do not get result on 4 bit SDIO so i request to st community please help me about that :persevering_face: :persevering_face: :persevering_face: :persevering_face: pragnesh

Hi everyone,Figured I banged my head against a wall long enough, so might as well ask even if it is a really simple fix.So far I have only used USART2 to write data to the Virtual COM port from my nucleo board, now I have need to write other data out through a different USART channel (USART1).I generated the template for the initialization for both of the USART ports using CubeMX and I double/triple checked the initialization are the exact same minus the Ports and Pins the TX/RX are mapped to.I am using the HAL_UART_Transmit() (not the DMA or IT) function, and it works flawlessly on USART2 but nothing happens when writing to USART1. I have stepped through the function and everything is the same, it is successfully writing it but I am not receiving anything on the transmit line (Serial console on PC). I have also tried receiving with USART1 and I still am receiving nothing on the nucleo board end.I have debugged this from many different ways and I feel like I am missing a specific step

Trying to get some help to resolve this issue.We are trying to incorporate USB CDC into a design and can't seem to get this working on the STM32H745ZI-Q NUCLEO development board that we have. In the release notes, it says the latest compatible Cube FW is 1.24.0. But Cube FW 1.24.1 is listed at a patch. So which should I install with STM32CubeMX 5.1.0?When I start STM32CubeMX in its perspective I get a popup with the message "This release of STM32CubeMX Eclipse Plugin cannot be used in macOS". Is this true? What release should I use on a Mac? If I click OK on the popup, everything appears to work. Does it? Can I ignore this popup?

I'm using libraries from outside the project tree so I need to define symbols and add include directories. But every time I regenerate code with CubeMX, my additions are overwritten. Is there any place or method I can add to those options that won't be overwritten? If not this seems like a huge bug.

Hello! Does anyone think about working with STM32CubeIDE and STM32CubeMX on laptops? I have a laptop with a 15.6 inch 1280x1080 display.Sometimes I program with it, it's awful there.For example, this is the latest version of cubeMx on my screen. To set the properties of the pins, I have to scroll up and down, up and down. At first it’s terrible to use. Secondly, I lost my “full view�?. It's prettier than the old version, but it's hard to use. Screen space is used very poorly.I have no idea how to work in CubeIde ?! :sad_but_relieved_face:

How to get USE_HAL_I2C_REGISTER_CALLBACKS properly defined?Defining it in User Constants in CubeMx, puts the #define at the bottom so stm32l4xx_hal.h cannot see it defined, and it does not work.

I'm looking for a simple example of using the CubeMX so I can eventually create an Ethernet tester (a device to test lines and communication). I'm having a bit of trouble finding something that I can understand (not too high a level as I'm a novice with MCU and Ethernet lower level stuff......for now).I'm still having trouble with this. I'm using an STM32F407VG along with an EasyMx PRO v7 development board. MikroElectronica has examples that work but they require a dongle to compile the program (real bad for configuration management). I need to get an ST example that I can follow but cannot seem to find one, even in the STM32F examples.

Hi, I use STM32CubeIDE and I use STM32CubeMX configuration tool. Selected device is STM32F407VGTx. As per datasheet HCLK Max frequency is 168MHz for mentioned device. But STM32CubeMX Clock configuration tool is allowed to set frequency which is more then 84MHz using PLL. i.e. if I select clock frequency 100MHz, its give error of Frequency out of range. I use HSE + PLL and crytal is of 8MHz. Why STM32CubeMX Clock configuration tool is not allowed to set frequency more than 84MHz? Please help to solve this issue.Thanks,Nandish Jasani.

I'm working on STM32F746 discovery wtih STemWin(firmwere F7 1.15). I'm tested on both UART1 and UART6.It's work fine without DMA and it's also worked with interrupt too.When i try to run with DMA. Hardware not even send an output data(I'm checked with my oscilloscopes). And huart keep busy all the time.So i give up trying on STM32F746 discovery. And tested on STM32F746 Nucleo board. I'm setup with cudeMX. And enabled only UART2 and UART3 with DMA and global interrupt. Than i'm found the problems UART3 DMA not wotking but UART2 DMA work fine. And than i try UART2-3 without DMA , Only interrupt. And It's works.I'm tried to result this problem for 2 days now. And i have no clue what's wrong with it. Please help me.

Thanks to this forum, I have a USB Virtual Serial Port implemented. It is working however, the Windows Device Manager lists it as "USB Serial Device (COM10)". The manufacturer is listed as Microsoft. The code has "STM32 Virtual ComPort" as the product string and "STMicroelectronics" as the manufacturer. I've ensured the USBD_FS_ProductStrDescriptor method gets called to set the product string but yet Windows doesn't show the right information. Is there a logical reason for this? I need to be able to identify the device which I can do by the VID and PID but I'd rather have my programmed information in the name of the device.

I'm trying to create a USB / Ethernet testing device. I need to use the USB portion to program an IP address. The mouse example works but I cannot detect it or connect to it. The virtual serial port example also works but a driver needs to be installed in order for me to communicate back and forth (not an option in production). Is there a USB device example that is detectable in windows and doesn't need a special driver to connect to it? Thanks in advance for your consideration.

On STM32CubeMX Version 5.1.0 when i tried to access SD card f_mount function always return FR_NOT_READY because SDIO_D0, SDIO_D1, SDIO_D2, SDIO_D3 and SDIO_CMD pins generated with no-pull and that causes issue while communication. After i changed these pins to pull-up all my problems gone.

Hi,When updating my current program with the newest version of cube-mx, I noticed that the newly generated sys.h /sys.c files in the core pathe are named equally named to the files generated by third-party - lwip under src / include / lwip.Since I do not need the new sys-files, I have to delete them manually, but every time I change something in the cubemx configuration, I have to do it again.I am using st32f407 with cube-mx creating gpdsc-file.Best Regards, Jan
