Build attractive and intuitive embedded GUIs faster with EDT Smart Embedded Display and STM32

Related products:STM32 software tools

EDT’s Smart Embedded Display helps developers build modern embedded GUIs faster with STM32 microcontrollers and TouchGFX. By combining the display, touch, processing, memory, power, and software stack in one ready-to-integrate module, it makes it easier to move from concept to prototype.

Why developers can build faster

  • A pre-integrated UMI module instead of separate display, touch, MCU, memory, and power components to qualify individually.
  • STM32U5 or STM32H7 performance for graphics-focused embedded applications.
  • TouchGFX supports designing custom screens, interactions, and application-specific GUIs.
  • Evaluation kits for each form factor to speed up proof of concept work and BSP bring-up.
  • Local technical support teams in Europe and Asia

What is included in the module?

The EDT Smart Embedded Display combines the hardware and software foundation needed to add a modern graphical interface to embedded products. The modules are built around STM32U5 and STM32H7 microcontrollers targeting graphics applications and support multiple industrial interfaces for communication with sensors, actuators, and control units.

  • Embedded displays: 4.3-inch to 12.1-inch panels, based on IPS technology with high brightness and contrast performance (also available with other displays sizes if required).
  • Resolution: up to 1280 × 800 pixels and 24-bit color depth.
  • Memory: SDRAM framebuffer and flash memory to support graphics performance.
  • Power input: 7 to 36 V for flexible industrial integration.
  • Interfaces: FD CAN, RS485, USB (type C), Ethernet 10/100 (w/MAC address), SD card slot and GPIO with mechanical fixture for add-on expansion features.

Focus earlier on the product experience

With TouchGFX, developers can create and customize advanced embedded GUIs while keeping more time for application logic, workflows, responsiveness, and user experience. The module ships factory-assembled and tested, with CE/FCC pre-compliance already addressed, helping reduce integration risk and simplify the path to a working HMI prototype. For developers, the software path is just as important as the display hardware. The module uses the TouchGFX graphical framework, giving teams a familiar way to design and implement embedded GUIs on STM32.
