Good morning,I am a beginner with the STM32 tools. I am working with the STM32WB5MMDK (Discovery Kit).To understand how it works, I decided to use the BSP example, but I can only see the code. I don't have a .ioc file that I could run with STM32CubeMX or STM32CubeIDE. Therefore, I don't understand how it is configured, and how the program can work without the configuration file.Does anyone know ?Thank you in advance for any help you can give me, Nour

Hello. I am writing a code to read ADC data from an AC voltage sensor. I used HAL to initialize ADC 1 and USART2 for checking the values in Putty. However, I would like to use direct register manipulation to send data to USART6 so that it can transmit the data to a wifi module which sends the data to a website for monitoring. However, I am not getting correct values in USART6 (confirmed by using serial monitor in IDE which I am using to check data received by the wifi module which is ESP32 to be specific). The output is gibberish as opposed to the data obtained from USART2. Is it possible that there's clashing between the initialization of USART2 in HAL and USART6 in bare metal? If I try using bare metal for USART2 and USART6, would there be any difference? I have read from another question here that you cannot mix HAL and bare metal code when accessing the same peripheral, but I wonder if that applies for the GPIO peripherals I'd be using as well (ADC GPIOs in HAL and USART GPIOs in ba

HelloWhat will happen with the IOs when MCU is put to Sleep mode (one of power modes in PWR) and register bits in RCC_AHB2LPENR for each GPIO-block are reset? When bits are reset, the peripheral clock is disabled during Sleep mode. Can the IOs still be used to trigger interrupts in Sleep mode with the EXTI controller?

I'm trying to implement the DSP functions, FFT...but including the "DSP include files" I get several errors: May you help me ? Thank you, Luigi

Hi.I am using STM32H7B3LIHQ MCU, MX25LM51245GXDI00 OSPI flash, IS42S32800J-6BLI SDRAM and 24bit TFT screen. I used the schematic of the STM32H7B3I-EVAL (MB1331) board when creating the scheme. I wrote programs for FMC, OctoSPI and LTDC peripherals using the sample programs and they all worked. I also used the "AN5050" and "AN4861" application notes for OctoSPI and LTDC.Then I created a new project by bringing all these peripherals together. I activated TouchGFX and made the necessary configuration. I created a test screen with TouchGFX, compiled the project and it worked. I enabled external loader in debug configuration settings There are 2 different .stldr files. "MX25LM51245G_STM32H7B3I-EVAL-REVA.stldr" and "MX25LM51245G_STM32H7B3I-EVAL-REVB.stldr". I selected "MX25LM51245G_STM32H7B3I-EVAL-REVA.stldr".But when I want to add a new screen to the touchGfx project, I encounter the following error.I also need to see RAM, FLASH and OSPI details in the "memory

Hello,I am trying to change the clock divider of my DFSDM channel at runtime. What I try to achieve with this is starting my microphone in standard mode and then increasing the clock rate to go into performance mode. This procedure is recommended by the manufacturer. The auto generated code to initialize the DFSDM first initializes the filters, then the channels, while setting all the parameters I defined in CubeIDE. Based on that I was trying to:Deinit the filter and channel.Change the clock dividerRe-Init the filter and channel with the new settings. My issue is that within the Msp methods HAL_DFSDM_FilterMspDeInit and HAL_DFSDM_ChannelMspDeInit some flags are used. When I deinitialize channel and filter the flag for DFSDM1_Init "underflows" and jumps to max value since its unsigned. Since all of the Msp init methods check for if(DFSDM1_Init == 0) they wont execute anymore afterwards. Therefore I am left without a clock. Is there a specific order?I also tried setting the clock div

I am experiencing processor freezes at certain points of use in our products using STM32F4.I am analyzing the cause and have a question regarding this. The processor I am using is STM32F469NI. There is a specific operation that it freezes at, and when it does, it intermittently, but not always, goes into a state where it can't process other operations at all.The main characteristic of this behavior is the frequent occurrence of different interrupts with exactly the same priority down to subpriority. One interrupt is the EXTI3 IRQ, and it's almost periodic at about 30 Hz. The other is the USART1 IRQ, which occurs when data is received at baud rate 115200 at the time of the problem. These two kinds of interrupts are identical, with a priority of 5 and a subpriority of 0. I wonder if the accumulation of pending interrupts that can't be handled at the moment is causing the processor to go into an abnormal interrupt handling state. Could this actually be causing the processor to get

Dear ST Team:We have E2PROM M24C64-WMN6P in our project, we checked from datasheet Page 20 & Page 25,there is a confusion need your help.ThanksOn Page 20, Table 12 shows Cbus load for I2C is 100pF max and 50ns max rise time,While on Page 25,Table 19 showes we should follow I2C specification which mean Cbus up to 400pF, and rise time up to 300ns @400KHzSo which one should to follow? Pls confirm,ThanksBest RegardsLisa

Hello,There was nothing wrong when I worked on it until yesterday. But when I went to work today and built it, an error like the picture appeared.I can't guess the cause at all.Reimporting the project or deleting the IDE and installing it anew does not resolve it. How to solve it?

Hi I would like to ask if there is any possible alternative to how I'm transmitting values from my STM32F407 Discovery to my PC which receives and buffers the data using a Python program. These are the functions I'm using to transmit my values: void Serial_logi(int val) { char buffer[10]; itoa(val, buffer, 10); Serial_log(&buffer[0]); } void Serial_log(char *s) { while (*s) { while (USART_GetFlagStatus(USART2, USART_FLAG_TXE) == RESET) ; // Wait for Empty USART_SendData(USART2, *s++); // Send Char } } The current implementation converts the decimal value which I wish to transmit, val (0-255) into a string of characters, and then transmits the string character by character. The problem with this implementation is that when I use my Python program to receive the data it does not store it as I want. For example, when I transmit the value 255, instead of storing the first byte as 255, it stores 50 as the first byte because the ASCII value of 2 is 50, a

I'm using Vbat as a battery voltage monitor on an STM32L431.  Vref is the VDDA pin on this part, which is 3.3V.  In my test case, Vbat is also connected to the same 3.3V.Vbat reads a raw count of around 1044.  The internal divider is /3, so this comes out to 3132 counts, which on a 12 bit ADC with a 3.3V ref comes out to 2.52V.  This is with a 3.3V input to the Vbat pin.  So, my technical term for that is "not even remotely close".The ADC is set for 640 cycles conversion time (so it's not running too fast), it is calibrated, the Vref measurement is correctly reporting the 3.3V, another external channel reading a test voltage correctly.I have confirmed through the debugger that VBATEN is set (it is actually CH18SEL on the L4, the HAL uses the VBATEN naming but it is the same bit), so the divider is enabled and connected to the ADC. What else could be wrong?

I'm working on writing drivers to use an ST25R3916B to interface with a non-ST host chip as an NFCIP-1 passive communication initiator. I've made progress on the communication to establish an active connection to a tag, but one part I'm stuck on is the response from the SEL_REQ CL1 command message. I'm expecting a 1-byte SAK, but instead I get a 3-byte response: 0x04 0xDA 0x17. When I ignore this response and move to the next stage of anticollision, I do then receive the next 4 bytes of the UID as expected. What do the bytes 0x04 0xDA 0x17 mean in this case? Is it some information about the ST25R3916B's communications or the tag's contents? I looked through the RFAL for reference but could not find any information about the CL1 response, only the command. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Hi Sir,Can the configuration registers of the ALED7709 be stored in the ALED7709, or must they be controlled via I2C by the MCU every time? There shows "This variant is the most generic one, it must be controlled through I2C since at POR almost all registers are clean." in the datasheet page 53.Does it mean ALED7709 cannot store configuration?

Hello everybody,I am trying to use the TIM3 those input capture mode with DMA transfer. After buffer is full the DMA call the callback function IT. Then i execute the stop DMA function. But after this sequence, the DMA no reinitialize. I am using the Cube MX for initialize the code.What could I be doing wrong?I am using the STM32C011F6P6  The code:uint16_t period_buffer[52];HAL_TIM_IC_Start_DMA(&htim3, TIM_CHANNEL_1, (uint32_t*) period_buffer, 52);  void HAL_TIM_IC_CaptureCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim){       HAL_TIM_IC_Stop_DMA(&htim3, TIM_CHANNEL_1);}

Hi there,   I read this document and it mentioned that the function "vl53l8cx_set_VHV_repeat_count" can be used to compensate for the ranging error caused by temperature. I would like to know the principle of VHV calibration compensation. Is it related to the signal power of VCSEL?   Does VHV calibration also apply to the compensation mechanism at low voltage (2.5~3V)? Or are there other functions that can compensate for voltage drift?

Hi all, I'm trying to receive UART data from an xbee module, I've noticed the xbee is sending out the data correctly (using a logic analyzer) however the STM32L431KCU6 is not receiving this data properly and instead seems like the data is being buffered somewhere? I have a timer counting the time from a start byte and if no further bytes are received for 10ms the timer ISR will terminate this frame reception. The fist message I send generates a timer interrupt however I only see the first byte of the data, when I send the second message I am able to see the full frame of the first message. Then when I send a 3rd message then I'm able to see the second message. with time this message difference increases and can reach 4/5 messages difference. I'm unsure what's going on and where is this data being buffered?  Appreciate any help.      static void MX_USART1_UART_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN USART1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END USART1_Init 0

I have successfully implemented the USB_OTG_FS as host as mass storage class on the STM32F407 discovery board. Now I want to do the same with the USB_OTG_HS But there is no usb connector available on the discovery board Can anyone guide me what external components to use and also an example code for the same.

Hello STM32 friends!Board: Nucleo-H755ZI-QCore used for LWIP: M7Goal: LWIP without RTOS(UPDATE below: I solved my own question, find it on github, hope to help somebody with it)I have followed many posts on the ethernet topic, but for a long time I was unable to get lwip working on the Nucleo-H755ZI.I got it working on an F7 and H7 (without RTOS) a long time ago, back when TrueStudio was still in use.Now that I'm using the latest STM32CubeMX 6.11.1, STM32CubeIDE 1.15.1 and the latest H7 firmware 1.11.2, I can't seem to get it to work.I've been following a lot of good posts on this topic and taking a lot of notes.Since I've been struggling for days, I posted a simple project on GitHub.The project includes a flashing LED to indicate that the M7 core has started and is running (not hanging in an error handler). If it only responds to ping requests, I'll be very happy.I will then add a TCP and UDP server and client to it, and perhaps an HTTP server. My little project is posted here:http

I tried two aproaches to start a new project:Using STM32CubeIDE only, using "Device Configuration Tool"Using STM32CubeMX and open it in STM32CubeIDEThere are a lot of things that can not be choosen in STM32CubeIDE Device Configuration Tool, so options and checkboxes remain grayed out.Under Project Manager "Gnerate Under Root" acn't be deselected. As a result, I can't deselect "Generate Under Root".In "Code Generator" I selected Pair of .c/.h files for peripherals, but they are are not generated, instead everyting is put in the main.c file. When stating with STM32CubeMX, and importing from an STM32CubeMX generated code, things are fine, just the way I want it.Is "Device Configuration Tool" a limited version of STM32CubeMX?Or am I doing something wrong?EDIT, Solved, right-clicking the ioc file in the project tree, and selecting "Generate code" solved it.It told me so in the project tree right after the ioc file: "[Code Generation is required]"Sorry for bothering. One project generated by ST

Hi,I'm using a NUCLEO-H723ZG and I've installed the CMSIS DSP library, but when I try to compile the code something goes wrong... May you help me to understand what do I make wrong ? Thank you, Luigi

Hi,I have a inline assembly code to implement some math, like:************************************C-Code...asm(" push {%5};"" lsl %5, 1;"" add %5, %3;"...);C-Code*******************************************************Unfortunately I`m not able to step through this code. What I have done so far:1. Set breakpoints inside asm code -> not reached2. Set breakpoint before asembly code and try to step inside the inline asm code -> By the time I step inside the asm code, the debuger is "busy" as if it would be in run mode and sometimes it crashes and the debug session is over.3. In Project build settings I have selcted the maximum debug level -g3 -> no effect4. I have set optimization to "none" -> no effect5. open the disassembly perspective and try to debug the code there -> same behavior as in 2.I only can say that the debug code is doing the math, I can see the results, but for some changes I`d like to debug this asm code.Anyone has any idea of what else I can do to get it do

Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum and have a problem involving an ST62T65CB6 microcontroller. I have been programming PIC chips for a long time and am familiar with the process of reading and writing to memory. My problem is that I have a board with this chip attached, running a CH boiler. The board has developed a fault and I need to understand the programme and be able to read/write and ideally, disassemble the code. Can a member please point me towards an interface (programmer). I have some board development and soldering skills so could manage to build a relatively simple programmer if I could find a schematic but would prefer to source one already built.

HelloI am starting a project with a STM32U585CIU6 and an OV7670 camera module. I want to use the DCMI interface to get the data, and I'm using the Introduction to DCMI to STM32 MCUs document as a reference.STM32U585 datasheet mentions the support to DCMI and provides all the respective pin definitions. I want to configure the GPIOs with an embedded synchronization (using therefore 8 data pins + 1 pin for DCMI_PIXCLK).However, I can't see the DCMI function in any GPIO pin I try to use. For example, STM32U585 datasheet mentions the following alternate functions for pin PA9:TIM1_CH2, SPI2_SCK, DCMI_D0/PSSI_D0, USART1_TX(boot), SAI1_FS_A, TIM15_BKIN, EVENTOUTBut my .ioc file provides the following functions when I select pin PA9:I imagined that there would be a "DCMI" peripheral option in the Connectivity or Multimedia sections, but I couldn't find anything in there. I don't know if any Software Pack must be installed, so I would appreciate if anyone could explain me how should I proceed i

Hello, The only difference between STM32F401RBT6 vs STM32F401RCT6 is the memory size, 128KB vs 256KB. I have a board in production with the STM32F401RBT6. If I switch to STM32F401RCBT6 (larger memory), can I share the same .hex firmware if I don't exceed 128KB? I think the answer is a big NO; but I just want to avoid two different firmwares. Customers are using the DFO for updates. Thanks for the help!!

Hi, I can't find the datasheet for the NUCLEO-H753ZI board. i will appreciate if someone could help me to find it. thanks.
