Solved

Hello there.I'm a beginner with MCU programming and hardware, in order to get into the field I purchased a board suggested by someone in another forum, then realizing that the debugger is another hardware unit I purchased it aswell.I managed to connect the flat cables found in the STLink box to the STLink and the STLink to the PC via USB however I can't find any pins to connect the STLink to the MCU.I would like to know if I missed something or wasted some money in purchasing incompatible components.Thank you.I will have pictures attached

Hello. I have few questions on UART half-duplex single-wire peripheral. I'm using stm32f303k8.In RM it states that TX and RX are internaly connected and TX is low (or whatever "released" can mean) when it's not transmitting. This means that when no transmission occurs, since TX is in output mode, either open drain or push-pull, it should short the line to ground through the internall connection and "released" NMOS transistor. Is that true?I'd like to know more on what HAL_HalfDuplex_EnableTransmitter() and HAL_HalfDuplex_EnableReceiver() do, as it's hard to get under the hood on just the HAL user manual and the code. Do they somehow protect the transmitter by disabling it such that the series resistor (like this person says) is unnecessary? Normal mode change of a GPIO protects its output driver when it is an input, so it is possible.Wouldn't it be better if I just changed the modes on the fly from input to output somehow if the series resistor is indeed necessary? For ex. making it a

Guys, I ran into a strange problem while debugging LIS2DH12, someone help me. I configured the high-precision mode, using 12 bits, with a range of +-4g, that is, when I placed the table (the chip with the sign facing up, the positive direction described in the instructions) it should have been subject to neutral acceleration and the converted value should have been -1g, but the result I got was +1g, I verified the other two axes, The resulting acceleration value is the opposite of the direction indicated in the manual, that is, when I always accelerate in the opposite direction of each axis, the resulting conversion value is indeed positive   Moreover, I read out the register value directly using lis2dh12_from_fs4_hr_to_mg function for conversion, and the size is close to 1g, but its direction is reverse, at this time I am the chip marked up, the acceleration value should be gravity acceleration downward is negative, it is positive.

Hi,I'm using Custom HID class for sending MIDI messages by editing the descriptors. I am using sendReport function for sending MIDI messages, I want to receive MIDI messages as well. I was wondering whether there is any function to receive messages in custom HID files. I'm using STMH755ZI. Thanks,Kiran

Hello,I am hoping i can be pointed in the right direction.I would like to create, using an STM32H7, a device that has an ethernet port. The idea is simply to go to various sites and scrape info for processing later on. I guess this will require TCP/IP.So i have found some examples online of this to help me and get started. However they seem to make little sense to me since i dont use and refuse to use CubeMX. I would rather understand what i am writing rather than have so much abstraction it takes forever to understand the code.Ideally not having to use RTOS would be good, mostly because i dont understand them yet and i feel it just adds more complexity to what i am doing.Ideally i would have liked to use the H7 internal MAC and an external PHY. Then i can attempt to code in the stack, which i know would be quite difficult and time consuming. But it does allow me to do software update fixes. This would be preferred over using say a WIZ5500, although i do understand the benefits of

Hello everyone,I have a question about the STM32H5 modules. I can't find the integrated FATFS in the list of middleware provided by ST. Is it complicated to integrate FATFS by myself, or should I use the middleware provided by ST?I am using STM32CubeMX for my project, and I've noticed that the FATFS middleware option is available for other STM32 families but not for the STM32H5. If I need to integrate FATFS manually, what steps should I follow? Are there any specific configurations or additional libraries required to ensure compatibility with the STM32H5?Additionally, any advice on best practices for setting up the file system, optimizing performance, or troubleshooting common issues would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,I need to perform a modular update in my f446 board for my project. The board is running a FreeRTOS, and the idea is to only modify the content of one task without affecting the content of other tasks. For doing this, every task calls its function, and these functions are defined in specific areas of memory defined in the linker file. Here is an example of a function:void __attribute__((section(".custom_section1"))) application1 (void){printf("in app 1 \r\n");} Here is a part of the linker file:...APPLICATION_1 (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x8010000, LENGTH = 64K /* Sector 3 */....custom_section1 :{*(.custom_section1)} > APPLICATION_1  And here is the task calling the application:void StartApp1(void *argument){for(;;){ application1();osDelay(1000); }/* USER CODE END StartApp1 */}   Before performing the update everything works perfectly, the tasks call the functions and with CubeProgrammer I check that they are stored where we want them to be. &n

Hello everyone,I'm working on a STM32U585 application which works on STOP3 mode and on a customized electric circuit. One of the wake up sources is the ST25's GPO which should generate a pulse when a message is sent via FTM when mailbox is enabled. In fact, GPO is configured to generate a pulse on GPO/RF_PUT_MSG event (mailbox is enabled on DYN Reg). When the microcontroller enters in STOP3 mode, I hold ST25's VCC high so that the tag is not powered (the global current absorption is around 12 microampere). The St25 is powered only when a RF source comes near at it (smartphone, ST25 discovery kit such as ST253911B-DISCO...) and using FTM writes something on mailbox, thus generating a pulse on the GPO and finally waking up the microcontroller. Unfortunately, that is not working. I made sure the coupling between RF source and tag was fine, but no pulse is seen on GPO.If ST25's VCC is held low, the global current absorption goes around 150 microampere and the pulse is generated on

EDIT* for those seeking a solution, JW in the replies below pointed out that the DIER register for TIM1 never enabled the interrupt bit for the commutation event and the mistake was that I used HAL_TIMEx_ConfigCommutEvent(&htim1, TIM_TS_NONE, TIM_COMMUTATION_SOFTWARE);Instead of HAL_TIMEx_ConfigCommutEvent_IT(&htim1, TIM_TS_NONE, TIM_COMMUTATION_SOFTWARE);---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dear whomever may read this,I've been working with PWM on TIM1 with the NUCLEO-F429ZI, I have three channels and their complementary channels active. This is an iterative test project, where I am bring function to life one step at a time. The following is the configuration for TIM1 (Note channel 2, 2N and 3, 3N have the same configuration as 1 and 1N).TIM1 Channel ModesTIM1 ParametersAfter being happy with the PWM timer, I enabled the commutation interruptTIM1 I

Hey, just wondering if you could help with the following? We are using a package called I-CUBE-USBD-Composite for combining two USB classes. We use CDC class for serial communication and HID class for MIDI. We change the descriptor for custom HID class to MIDI descriptor to get our device to be detected as MIDI device. When i use mouse HID and CDC, i am able to get it working. But the problem with mouse HID is it doesn't allow MIDI receive. But when i use custom HID both CDC and MIDI is not working. The device is not getting detected as any device.Any ideas or resources would be a big help. Thanks,

Hi There,While reading the data from I2C, I see that the master is missing to send NACK.Some fixed was done in https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeF4/issues/139 but those fixes are there in the code. But still sometime i see that NACK not being send out and slave pull the SDA line to low.  Is there any fix on this one?

Hi All, I have a STM32 Nucleo H723ZG development board and running CMSIS RTOS v2 and HTTP server with netconn  on it. The project is an example provided by the ST and it is available in STCubeMX. everything works fine until I disconnect the Ethernet cable from the board. As soon ans the cable is unplugged the code jumps into the hard fault exception. I wonder if anyone else has seen this issue with this example and has a solution for it. many thanks for any help,

Hello all,I am currently working on the different combinations of LoRa Wan and found out that I-Cube-LRWAN software expansion(https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/i-cube-lrwan.html). For the stm32l476rg, I used the sx1262dvk1das and sx1276mb1mas and it's working fine as well connected to the gateway. Now I want to use the same software expansion I-Cube-LRWAN with the nucleo-f746 as base board and sx1262. But I am not getting any reference how to achieve it.  As I don't find any "mx " in I-Cube-LRWAN projects, I am unable to do create and port to new project it's showing many errors. My queries were-1. How to port I-Cube-LRWAN software expansion from nucleo-l4 series to nucleo-f7 series?2. How to use I-Cube-LRWAN with new project?3. Why there is no cube-mx for the examples?I have been trying many examples and trying to find the solutions, but I am unable to get the solution. Thanks & Regards,Krithika. P

Hello, I want to do a boundary-scan test for a SIP module which uses ST Stellar Integration MCU SR6Gx series, how can I get its BSDL file?

HI team, I am Using NUCLEO-F439ZI board for Ethernet Interface. I successfully transferred the data in UDP, Now I try to send the data using TCP client method.  In the .ioc configuration file, I followed the below setup 1. Connectivity -> ETH -> RMII mode. 2. Middleware and Software Packs -> LWIP -> General Setting -> LWIP_DHCP (set own IP -> 192.168.1.10)  Middleware and Software Packs -> LWIP -> Key Option -> heap memory size = 10*1024 bytes.  Middleware and Software Packs -> LWIP -> HTTPD -> LWIP_HTTPD - enable after all this setup I generate the code In the Main.c file  1. by using this code I ping the connection, its works fine "extern struct netif gnetif;       ethernetif_input(&gnetif); sys_check_timeouts();". 2. from this sub function "tcp_server_init();", To create a TCP block, Bind the socket to Server Address Listen from client Accept function - connection between client and server After done

Hi, I am MURALI SELVAM from DNCL Technologies, I need reference schematic for STM32G0B1VET6 MCU, If anyone have reference schematic. Kindly provide me. Thank you.

Hello,I am trying to use ST's QSPI driver that I found in that github link. https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32-external-loader/tree/contrib/QSPI_Drivers I am using MT25QL512ABB1EW9-0SIT and when I tried to wire memory function that read it with using memorymapped I saw that first byte of my array is missing. When I increment the writing address one the problem is gone but I am trying to understand what can cause this issue.  uint8_t CSP_QSPI_WriteMemory(uint8_t* buffer, uint32_t address, uint32_t buffer_size) { QSPI_CommandTypeDef sCommand; uint32_t end_addr, current_size, current_addr; /* Calculation of the size between the write address and the end of the page */ current_addr = 0; while (current_addr <= address) { current_addr += MEMORY_PAGE_SIZE; } current_size = current_addr - address; /* Check if the size of the data is less than the remaining place in the page */ if (current_size > buffer_size) { current_size = buffer_size; } /*

Hello everyone,Currently I am using STM32F407 and trying it to interface it with esp32 using SPI protocol. Can anyone help me with that. Is it even possible or not ?

Hello,I have a use-case with a soldered battery, which I can not power-cycle after programming, however I have to set option bytes to restrict Flash reading.I found online that going into STANDBY mode or rather, returning from STANDBY mode, would update the option bytes. However, the option bytes are not set. Here is the relevant code block:    #if !defined(BOOTLOADER_DISABLE_AUTOLOCK) // Auto-enable RDP level 1 (JTAG readout protection) FLASH_OBProgramInitTypeDef option_bytes; HAL_FLASHEx_OBGetConfig(&option_bytes); if (option_bytes.RDPLevel != OB_RDP_LEVEL_1) { printf("Incorrect RDP level detected, auto locking\n"); if (HAL_FLASH_Unlock() != HAL_OK) { goto option_byte_panic; } if (HAL_FLASH_OB_Unlock() != HAL_OK) { goto option_byte_panic; } option_bytes = (FLASH_OBProgramInitTypeDef) { .OptionType = OPTIONBYTE_RDP, .RDPLevel = OB_RDP_LEVEL_1 }; if (HAL_FLASHEx_OBProgram(&option_bytes) != HAL_OK) { goto option_byte_pan

Hello, I have a guitar amp Laney LA65C where the output amp is faulty, it consists of a TDA7294 IC, I put in a new TDA7294 but it exploded as soon as the power was turned on. I checked the input voltage and it is correct 26 volts, what could cause it to explode, are there several versions of the TDA7294 with other supply voltages? There is no insulation between the circuit and the heat sink, but the heat sink has no contact with the device body.

Hello,I am implementing a Modbus Master on a STM32F722. First, transmissions and receptions were managed through Rx/Tx interrupts. But as I got a lot of overrrun errors while getting my slave's responses, I decided to transfer received packet through DMA to my Rx buffer to avoid microcontroller's overuse. As my board is a modbus master, I use RTOR to generate an interrupt when slave finished its transfer, as adviced in STM32F7's reference manual. Here is my initialisation function:static void USART2_MspInit(UART_HandleTypeDef* uartHandle) { GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct; /* USER CODE BEGIN USART2_MspInit 0 */ /* USER CODE END USART2_MspInit 0 */ /* Enable Peripheral clock */ __HAL_RCC_USART2_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOA_CLK_ENABLE(); /**USART2 GPIO Configuration PA1 ------> USART2_DE PA2 ------> USART2_TX PA3 ------> USART2_RX */ GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = Modbus_System_USART2_DE_Pin|Modbus_System_USART2_TX_Pin|Modbus_System_USART2_RX_Pin; GPIO_InitStruct

I am a the peripheral, and just got a connection event from the client.Would like to know if server side provides a feature to know if I already bonded with client , or bonding will be needed. Is there a command I can give e.g., the ConnectionHandle and will tell me if paired (yes no?)Thanks!

I purchased EVLAKIT-ROBOT-1 and am trying to run it.I request information for operation. An error occurs when building the example code.I wonder if the problem is caused by the software tool version. If so what version of software should I run it with?1. STM32CubeIDE version?2. MCWB version?
