Missing info about PG12,PG13, PG14, PG15 alternate functions in Table 22 (datasheet DS14359 Rev 2). I hope that PG15 AF9 is PSSI_D13 like PG11.

Hello, I am looking for very old STM32CubeIDE project example for IR TV remote control to see how TIM16 and TIM17 are set up and controlled.I am not interested in manuals and instructions: better one time to see then read about it 100 time and not getting all details!Thank you.

Hi, I am trying to program a STM32L552ZEQ to use HSE instead of the default clock, but I am doing something wrong. I attach the reference manual, as well as the user manual for my specific board. In the user manual, on page 24, it is stated that there is a HSE with 16 MHz clock frequency. I try to enable this by setting the HSEBYP and HSEON bits in `RCC->CR`, like so ``` RCC->CR |= RCC_CR_HSEBYP_Msk | RCC_CR_HSEON_Msk; while(!(RCC->CR & RCC_CR_HSERDY_Msk)); ``` Using GDB I observe the change to the register value happening as expected. After setting it, I am waiting for the hardware to set the HSERDY bit, indicating that everything went OK. But this bit is never set. I never seem to get out of this while-loop. I observe the bit not being set using e.g. GDB. I looked at the reference manual and saw that MCO is fed to OSC_IN, which seems correct. I then thought that it appears as if the MCO can be connected to several different sources, one of which being the HSE. I look

Hi, i'm implementing a PWM signal using STM32, the problem i'm facing is that when i set the duty cycle of the pulse to zero... i get the pin to stay high, even if i disable the timer associated with the PWM output.This are my setting:My APB2 Bus is set to 170 MHz, i scaled that down to 1 Mhz with prescaler then to 100Hz with ARR.This is the timer init function :  static void MX_TIM5_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM5_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END TIM5_Init 0 */ TIM_ClockConfigTypeDef sClockSourceConfig = {0}; TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig = {0}; TIM_OC_InitTypeDef sConfigOC = {0}; /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM5_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END TIM5_Init 1 */ htim5.Instance = TIM5; htim5.Init.Prescaler = 170-1; htim5.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim5.Init.Period = 9999; htim5.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; htim5.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORELOAD_PRELOAD_DISABLE; if (HAL_TIM_Base_Init(&htim5) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } s

Hello expert,We are designing a circuit using STWLC38.What happens if the capacitance value of C8~C11 in the figure below is increased to 47n?Will it be a problem?Regards,Ryoma

hii am using stm32mp157d-dk1 and i have downloaded qt creator and i have created a simple hello world window now how to display it in the stm32mp157d-dk1? how to set up cross compilation in order to deploy Qt projects directly from a host Linux machine to the embedded target using qtcreator.

Hi,1) I Am currently exploring the capabilities of NanoEdge for a project involving multiclass classification, and I am eager to learn more about the specific machine learning algorithms utilized within the NanoEdge framework. I feel as though I am using a black box to generate the model, and I would like to know if it is possible to make optimizations during the learning step.2) After generating the model, I used the time.h library to compute the inference time of the model in STM32CubeIDE by creating a timer before and after calling the neai_classification function. However, the result is always 0, even though the model produces the correct classification results. This may be because the inference time is very small. Are there other solutions to accurately measure the inference time? Thank you very much for your help

We are looking into accessing two identical H5 via one SWD connection. My understanding is that:- We would need to use third party tools instead of STLink for multi drop support- The processors support multi drop- But it does not work with multiple identical processors, because the target identification register (TINSTANCE in DP_DLPIDR) is hardcoded to 0, and cannot be changed. Is this understanding correct, and if not, what tools would you recommend for multi drop?

I’m working with an encoder that has a specification of 1024 pulses per revolution (p/r), and it will operate at a maximum speed of 1500 RPM. At this speed, the signal frequency produced by the encoder is approximately 25.6 kHz.The encoder outputs a 5V signal, while my MCU (the STM32H743VIT6) can only handle a maximum  input voltage of 3.3V. To address this, I plan to use a TXS0108E level shifter to convert the signal from 5V to 3.3V. Currently, I’m using a Blue Pill for testing until my main MCU arrives (the STM32H743VIT6).I’d like to know if this is a good approach. Is the TXS0108E suitable for this application at the given frequency? Are there any better alternatives or recommendations for interfacing a 5V encoder output with a 3.3V MCU?Thank you for your insights!

Hi, I'm using NUCLEO-H753ZI Board.  There was a mistake while conducting the experiment. After that, the red light on LED6 came on and the red light on LED6 came on again after disconnecting the cable. Looking at the User Manual, LED6 comes out as Over Current indication, is there a way to fix it?(https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/um2407-stm32h7-nucleo144-boards-mb1364-stmicroelectronics.pdf)Power is supplied by Micro USB 5V. Please fix my board!! If you have any question, please ask me. Thank you.

Hi there Touchgfx team! I've these screen requirements  The user can select a test in the "test selection screen". Based on that selection, a "calibrate screen" will be created with different steps as you can see in the 3 images. I've mora than 30 test options and a set of different steps for each one. How can I do this? I want to avoid the scenario of creating 30 different screens for each test. Is there a way to send the test option selected to the "calibrate screen", and based on that create the list of steps? Thanks a lot in advance

Why are UDP packets on port 53600 sometimes sent and visible in Wireshark, but at other times they are not sent? What factors could influence the intermittent transmission of these packets?

I am trying to save a much RAM as Possible in my project and realized there are some buffers associated with MJPEG that are taking up a noticeable amount of memory. I am not using any videos in my project and wondering if there is a setting I missed that would allow me to just remove MJPEG support and free up that memory.I am also not using any .JPEG (Only .PNG), so I tried just unchecking Multimedia JPEG in CubeMx, but CubeMx freezes upon doing so. Is JPEG necessary for all touchGFX projects?

Hi there Touchgfx team! I have these screensI already implemented all the navigation. When I'm in volume screen, if I start pressing the up/down arrow buttons, the read widgets appears again. Is there any way to avoid this different than calling invalidate() every single time? All those 4 screens are developed inside a single screen. Based on the user input, I just change their state to visible/invisible. Thanks a lot in advance

Hi there Touchgfx team! I have these screens Every "calibrate screen" header text is based on the test selected on "test selection screen". How can I update the text on the header based on the user selection? Thanks a lot in advance

Hi,in AN2606 rev 64, I cannot find the SPI settings for STM32H563 bootloader, i e CPOL, CPHA etc. For the other MCU:s in this document, this information is provided. For example H72xxx comes with CPOL = CPHA = low.Using these settings, and a rather slow clock at 0.5 MHz, I send 0x5A, and get 0xA5 in return. This looks good, but the problem is that no matter what I send, I get 0xA5 in return. What am I missing here?

I am lost in the maze of documentation for AI features at STM. I have access right now to:STEVAL-MKBOXPRO (SensorTile.box PRO)Custom board with LSM6DSV16XI want to:gather IMU data to train the modeltrain the IMU device decision tree classifier (3 class)deploy it ultimately on the custom board, but the MKBOXPRO is also acceptable as a target for nowMy background is in data science, so the 'AI' part I understand. My embedded programming and hardware design knowledge is decent but still beginner level compared to most people here.So far:Unico-GUI - doesn't work on the mkboxpro?MEMS studio doesn't have a data collection feature like Unico? And I'm having connection issues, although I suspect I'll figure that out soon enoughApps for mkboxpro on phone don't seem to look like they do in the documentation, perhaps due to it not being in Pro modeThere's yet another tool called STEdge AI Core which I haven't explored yet but seems to overlap with the othersThe simplest path I see right now

Hi!The PWM signals are identical and work as  normal except when HAL_TIM_PWM_Stop (or HAL_TIM_PWM_Start) is called at duty 0. The Advanced timer work as expected and cause the output PWM to go low, while both PWM signals go low for the General timer. I've tried reading the RM0440 Reference manual sections "28 Advanced-control timers (TIM1/TIM8/TIM20)" and "30 General purpose timers (TIM15/TIM16/TIM17)", but has found no clear cause of this. Below are both my configurations and Oscilloskop output for both control signals and output PWMAdvacned timerTIM8 configuration __HAL_RCC_TIM8_CLK_ENABLE(); htim8.Instance = TIM8; htim8.Init.Prescaler = PRESCALER_VALUE; htim8.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim8.Init.Period = HAL_PWM_DEFAULT_PERIOD; htim8.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; htim8.Init.RepetitionCounter = 0; htim8.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORELOAD_PRELOAD_DISABLE; TIM8->AF2 = 0; if (HAL_TIM_PWM_Init(&htim8) != HAL_OK) { // Error_Handler(); } sMaste

Hi I use STM32H743XI and W25Q256 for my design. And I notice W25Q256 has two speed 133Mhz(W25Q256JV) and 104Mhz(W25Q256FV), currently I use W25Q256FV, since I only use this flash with memory map mode, is it necessary to replace with W25Q256JV? Will their performance vary greatly? W25Q256FV:W25Q256JV:

Hello everyone,I am working on a project that requires identifying the RSSI of all surrounding tags.If "tag 6361" is not placed, the remaining three tags can be recognized and their RSSI can be obtained. However, after placing "tag 6361", only "tag 6361" can be recognized, and the other three tags cannot communicate. The RSSI of the four tags is: tag "66E9" has an RSSI of 101, tag "635A" has an RSSI of 28, tag "681D" has an RSSI of 73, and tag "675A" has an RSSI of 1736.May I ask how to make these four labels recognized simultaneously?

Hi,we would like to add live video playing/streaming to an STM32-based board we are designing that uses MIPI-DSI to drive a touch display, and we are at the stage of choosing the micro.Ideally it would stream from HDMI signal but we can use another interface if more suitable and/or lower cost.(Ethernet streaming I think is just a matter of having the Ethernet connection so that I assume is straight forward). The live video would be played on the touch display but in a window slightly smaller than the graphic area (to allow controls for other electronics to be places on the graphical area next to the video). Are there any STM32 that have perhaps some special dedicated hardware to allow video streaming (again from HDMI or other similar inputs) while preventing major core bottleneck/slow-down?If so, which micro can do that?Or which peripherals/HW of the STM32 is used to do that so we can select the right micro?Thank you. :)

Hi,We have been trying to setup DMA USART3 with the STM32H753ZI Nucleo. We would like to keep our stack in DTCMRAM and we thought we could move the USART buffer into SRAM1 or SRAM2 since DMA1 and DMA2 have access to it, following this post.We edited our GCC linker file to have a section in RAM_D2 for the buffer. We also configured the MPU to write-through the buffer region on RAM_D2 to prevent DCache from interfering with the DMA. This did not work, we tried multiple buffer positions and MPU configurations and none of them worked. /* Highest address of the user mode stack */ _estack = ORIGIN(DTCMRAM) + LENGTH(DTCMRAM); /* end of RAM */ /* Generate a link error if heap and stack don't fit into RAM */ _Min_Heap_Size = 0x200; /* required amount of heap */ _Min_Stack_Size = 0x400; /* required amount of stack */ /* Specify the memory areas */ MEMORY { DTCMRAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 128K RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x24000000, LENGTH = 512K RAM_D2 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x30000000, LE

Hello I wan't to use the ethernet of my MCU with using Lwip module. For the moment I've connect a etehernet cable between my computer and my ethernet board I've used some example of ethernet example for test the ethernet communication. But I don't arrive to ping my board after settings the differnts parameters (GW address, Mask Address, IP Address).I've also debug my program for try to understand why I can't ping my card and I've remark that when I run my code and when I enter in my function MX_LWIP_Init() it's the function netif_set_down wich is called and not the function netif_set_up. I've the impression that netif is not well configured. Here is my Main.c file./* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2023 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. *

I'm working on a custom board with a STM32H723ZG. I'm also using external sd ram part  IS42S16400J-6TL found here (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/issi-integrated-silicon-solution-inc/IS42S16400J-6TL/2708625). I've followed the excellent sd ram tutorial here: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-set-up-the-fmc-peripheral-to-interface-with-the-sdram/ta-p/49457 which was how I was able to determine the values in the stm32 cube IDE. The FMC init generated function runs without error (MX_FMC_Init which calls HAL_SDRAM_Init). I have posted the cube IDE set up below. This is a new board design, so it is possible that something about the layout isn't working, but I've confirmed that all the lines are connected correctly to the chip. The address and data lines are also length matched. My FMC clock input is using HCLK3 at 275Mhz, but the sd ram common clock is 3 HCLK cycles, so this should put the sd ram clock at 91.66 mhz. I believe this is below the 110 mhz limit
