Where can i find the firmware upgrade application? I downloaded the most recent (1.28.1) stm32f4 package but under projects there's no FW_Upgrade folder.I have an older package (1.1.0) and i can effectively find the firmware upgrade application there but i was looking for something newer, if it exists, to run the project smoothly in STM32CubeIde.Thanks a lot and have a great day!Omar

Hello,I want to develop logger with flash drive and STM32H753 (NUCLEO-H753) using STM32Cube. I started to develop this application with USB_OTG_FS (which is soldered on this board) - successfully completed. Then I wanted to change to USB_OTG_HS. This peripheral is not soldered on the nucleo, so I made my own connector (according to the nucleo connection - USB A connector with ESD protection) and connect it with the nucleo.  If I run the firmware (generated by stm32cube)it still calls the USBH_UserProcess callback when the USB drive is connected. The id value changes between HOST_USER_CONNECTION and HOST_USER_UNRECOVERED_ERROR (HOST_USER_CONNECTION, HOST_USER_UNRECOVERED_ERROR, HOST_USER_CONNECTION... and so on). Does anyone know how to fix this issue?Thank you for your response.

Hello,I have a custom motor control board and have so far been using MCW 5.Y.4This is my Amplifying Network using internal Op-amp gain of 4x and I just have external resistors R1, and R2. The resistors R4 and R5 are internal as you well know:Now I am migrating to MCWB 6.3.2 and am starting configuration from Inverter Board EVLSPIN32G4-ACT as I had done before. However, in Current Sensing, I noticed that:1.) Channel W is connected to OPAMP2, but I believe that doesn't change anything since my board has same resistor network for all three op amps and I understand that channel V will be inferred from the two other channels2.) Internal PGA Gain of 4 (600mV) is not an option, even though this MCU has that as an option and previous firmware allowed that as you can see form the screenshot. Is this just a bug in the system, and can I simply change it manually in the code? I designed our board based on a gain of 4 so I really need that to be the case.3.) There are no inputs for the external netw

I'm taking my first steps as an embedded engineer, especially in STM32. I've been looking for a specialization that will give me more experience, in addition to the 35 years I have in IT (Client/Server) and about 10 in embedded systems.I'm currently taking some quick courses to make it easier to get started, and I intend to get to STM32H7. I saw that there's a study path on the ST website.Am I on the right track? I'd like to have tips from professionals with more experience in STM32.Thanks.

I found a different behavior, with or without optimization, that I can't explain me.In the code snippet  below, the value b is 0 if you compile without optimization and 1 with optimization enabled (-O1) (gcc ver 12.3.rev1).The only apparent difference is having defined zzz3 as volatile.I obtained this behavior on both F3 and F4 microprocessors. The same code instead works correctly on other architectures both arm and x86, so the result is 0 both for a and b.Is it a wrong behavior or is it part of an unpredictable behavior that can be overcome by forcing memory barrier or something else? {static long zzz;static long zzz2;static volatile long zzz3;static int a, b; zzz = 0x80000000-10;zzz2 = zzz + 1000;zzz3 = zzz2; a = (zzz - zzz2) > (-1L);b = (zzz - zzz3) > (-1L); printf("1=failed : a=%d b=%d\n", a, b);} thanks, for help

Hello, due to pin shortage, I (foolishly) used pin PC14 and PC15 as output GPIOs on a board that I designed and my colleague is writing the firmware. We never use them previously, due to the all problems with limited sourcing caused by internal backup domain power switch and their low-speed limits. For the current board, the low speed and low drive was no issue. But now there is a problem - we are unable to get the pins working. I tried the code generated by CubeMX and my colleague, who uses own routines, used the approach described on several pages on the web - first disable the LSE in BDCR by cleaning the LSEON bit, wait for LSE deactivation, turn on the backup domain power, enable access by setting DBP bit, and finally normally set the pins as low-speed push-pull outputs. We tried all this, but the pins stay low all the time. For testing, we used a NUCLEO-F401RE, because the board is still being manufactured.Could be the absence of the HSE crystal (or, a TCXO on our board) the cu

My main computer died and I tried to install STM32CubeIDE on a spare computer. During the installation process I received the following error message:"NSIS ErrorError launching installer"Computer: Firebat Mimi PC, Model S1, CPU Intel N100, RAM 16GB. Operating system: windows11.I tried installing different versions of CubeIde: 1.17.0, 1.16.1, 1.15.1. The result is always the same.Note: STM32CubeMx has installed successfully and is working. Is it possible to somehow solve this problem?

Hi All,  I am trying to import the X-CUBE-SPN2 in CubeIDE, I have followed all the correct steps and am importing the project through the filesystem. However, when I try to build the project I constantly keep getting an error stating that: An internal error occurred during: "Build Project".java.lang.NullPointerException.Please find the attached

Hi everyone,I’ve been working in IT for a while, focusing mainly on cloud computing and Linux environments. However, I’ve recently become really interested in embedded systems and the potential for integrating hardware and software solutions.I came across some resources and training focused on Linux, which I think might give me a good foundation for the embedded systems world. But now I’m a bit stuck. I’m not sure how to apply that knowledge in a more hardware-specific domain.I’m curious about how others here have transitioned to embedded systems development. Were there any specific tools, frameworks, or projects that helped you get started? Also, if you have any advice on combining Linux knowledge with real-time operating systems or hardware-level programming, I’d love to hear it.Thanks in advance for your guidance!

hey how to use printf in stm32f429i-disc1 board and my mcu is stm32f103cbt6

Hello, I am having an issue when I try to download the Developer package in the wiki. I am using this link (https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MPU_Developer_Package#Installing_the_Starter_Package) in the 5.2 section, there, it redirects me to (https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stm32mp1dev.html#get-software). In the last link, when I try to download the file, it downloads the wrong file, since it downloads the SDK instead of the Developer package. Probably there is an error in the API and it gets the wrong file. Does anyone else experiences the same issue?

Datasheet for the Macronix flash is not available on-line. Can someone tell me about the correct parameters needed for the Macronix MX66UW1G flash? The number of sectors (used 32), sector size (used 4096), page size (used 0x100), chip select high time (used 2), delay hold quarter cycle (enabled) and any other useful information to get the external memory loader to work?I'm getting a failure to erase flash sector0

uint8_t my_buffer[ 1B_LEN_PREFIX + 24B_LEN_DATA + nB_LEN_SUFFIX ] = {0}; (void) HAL_SPI_TRANSMIT_DMA(&hspi2, &my_buffer[0], sizeof(my_buffer));   I'm using the SPI TX line only to drive an addressable LED, making a custom waveform from SPI bits to LED bits. Not using the SPI CLK line, although it does have to be defined in AF Mode for SPI to work at all.Scenario:* Using GPDMA in a non-linked list mode* I am always ending on a low bit.* After transfer complete, the MOSI goes high* It usually floats down softly* When I start a new transmission, there is a 40ns spike before my prefix (1B 0x00) data on subsequent transfers. This is because the SPI was disabled after ending high, re-enabled, and immediately goes high for a moment before DMA data loads.* If I ended on a high bit, I would expect MOSI to be and stay high at the end of the transfer* If we pad the DMA buffer with 15 bytes of 0x00 data or less, the line stays high, and floats back low* If we pa

It's a niche application. STM32H5 QFNI need SPI2_MOSI to make a specifically shaped wave. SPI is works well for this. I do not need the SPI_CLK pin/function. I set Cube MX to SPI2 Transmit Only Master, and of course it applies the CLK pin because almost everyone would want that.I would just not hook the CLK up but for two reasons:1. I don't really want a wiggling pin hooked to nothing.2. I want to use that pin for OCTOSPI_nCS (for QSPI). It is a valid function of that pin. I know roughly in code what I would need to change to select that pin for that function. However, Cube MX either allows me OctoSPI using that pin for SPI2. I can't find the answer to what pins are required for a peripheral in the reference manual. Is it possible to use SPI2 for only it's MOSI pin and use the pin that would be SPI2 CLK for OCTOSPI_nCS instead?

Hi Team,   I am working on STM32U5A9J-DK for one of our applications interfaces with an Octal flash via Octal SPI. we were able to communicate and do the flash operations Read write using the SDR mode . Now to achieve the DTR mode from STM32U5a9 end what are the initial setting we need to go through or make? We have a register in Octal flash to set it in Octal DDR mode, but do we need to set anything from STM32 end to change?    Regards Sanath

I am following a basic example from stm32: Getting started with SPI - stm32mcuI follow the steps for setting up SPI master with polling (Blocking mode). I did make sure to select the board STM32H573 DK instead of the one listed in the example.I initially used SPI5, however it wouldn’t transmit anything and its clock was always high. Then I switched to using SPI2, however it was always stuck low.Any insight would be appreciated.I connected a logic analyzer and here is an image of this :

Where can I find details on inductive sensor wakeup for the ST25R3916? It's only even mentioned on pages 1 and 11 of the datasheet. My understanding is that inductive wake-up will detect tags only, whereas capacitive will detect other objects like a hand. This would give the inductive sensor the advantage for power savings, which is what I'm currently working on.

Hi,I am a junior developer, and I am trying to get an SD card working on an STM32 U5 series MCU with SPI. I encountered a problem: in the middleware section of CubeMX, I don't see FatFS; instead, I only have FileX. However, FileX does not have an SD card interface in my case. I want to use FatFS, but I’m not sure how to implement it into the project. Is it possible to generate the FatFS code on another board that supports it and then transfer the files into the new project? What are my options? Thanks.

I want to manage a uart in reception with a DMA in circular mode using "low level" functions on a STM32U575ZITxQ processor. The initialization of my code is done with STM32CubeMx 6.13.0.In the "Project Manager->Advanced Settings", I chose "LL" for "GPIO", "GPDMA", "TIM" and "USART".In "Sytem Core->GPDMA1" channel1 is configured in circular mode with a "request" = USART1_RX.When I generate the code, the following code is generated for the uart initialization function:Unfortunately, as we can see, the node "Node_GPDMA1_Channel1" is declared local to the function, which makes its effective use impossible (unlike the "HAL" functions which make the node global). For my code to work (and it does), it is necessary that I take the node declaration out of the function and make it global.Of course, I have to repeat this change every time I regenerate the code with STM32CubeMx...Is there something I didn't do correctly, or is this an STM32CubeMx issue?

Hi!I'm succesfully using SBSFU 2.6.2 on a STM32G474 with SECBOOT_ECCDSA_WITHOUT_ENCRYPT_SHA256.Now in another project I wanted to use the same SBSFU configuration on a STM32G0B0 but as this MCU is much less performant I switched to SECBOOT_AES128_GCM_AES128_GCM_AES128_GCM to get faster startup and installation times. But during testing now we happily found out before releasing that with this configuration the installation process does not resume if it is interrupted e.g. by a power-loss. I tried with and without swap-area and also with and without user-validation. Using SECBOOT_ECCDSA_WITHOUT_ENCRYPT_SHA256 works as expected. It fails during startup and does not resume the update. As the application is already partially updated it then fails to verify and deletes the image, which is the worst case as any update is then impossible (except loader in SBSFU, which requires wired connection).I figured out that somehow during CheckTrailerMagic() the "magic" is all 0xFF which is not allowed.

Hi,I try to migrate the  UX_Host_HID example on STM32U575I-EV to nucleo-u575zi-q.STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.17.0STM32CubeMX Version: 6.13.0I duplicate all the settings relating to USB host options to mine.In the middleware:and then copy the source code from the Ux_Host_HIDAfter programming the firmware to my ev board, i plug the hid device to the CN15 USB connector. There is noting happened and no power react on my hid device.Did i miss any settings to setup the USB host example??how can i provide power to the hid device??? Any response will be appreciated.

Hello,I am using the STM32H7S78-DK board along with TouchGFX, and I am attempting to display a video on the board's LCD. I have attached an AVI video file that I am trying to play. However, I am facing issues as the video is not running on the display.Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?Thank you for your support.Best regards,Mehul

I am in the process of transferring from Mbed to VSCode with the STM332 extension. I have set up a project using CubeMX set to the default settings for a NUCLEO-L073 and have no issues. I believe this setup uses the MSI clock. I am trying to implement the HSE with an external 8MHz crystal but cannot get it to work. The program does not run (basic LED blinky) and there is no clock signal on the crystal when monitored with an oscilloscope. The changes I have made from the default NUCLEO-L073 CubeMX settings are:Pinout & Configuration tab: RCC High Speed Clock (HSE) set to Crystal/Ceramic ResonatorClock Configuration tab: System Clock Mux set to HSEI have verified that there is no issue with the hardware - when running from mbed the crystal has a good 8Mhz signal. Are there any other settings I am missing? Is there any other code i need to add on top of the CubeMX generated output? Thanks
