Hello, I'm trying to debug an issue I'm having with the GPDMA on an STMu5. I believe I'm mostly there but for some reasons I'm missing only some DMA triggers. So the situation is as follows: I'm trying to read the IDR register of a GPIO port into memory using DMA that is sync to the rising edge of a PWM timer. Here is the situation: In white is the PWM signal and the last 4 channels are the GPIOs I'm trying to read. I have configured my DMA as follows: The trigger event Selection of the TIM15 is OC1REF. So like I said I believe I'm mostly there, here is a snippet of the DMA buffer: And here are the corresponding signals: so first of all DMA_buffer[0] is: 1000000100, the value that im looking for is GPIO 1 to 4 so the value is 0100 which correspond to the second rising edge of the clock. I have shown the buffer values to the signal in the picture of the logic analyser. DMA_buffer[1] is 1000. which is also good if we follow the logic analyser and finally DMA_buffer[2] is 0010. The L

Dear Team, We have selected STM32H733VGT6 (LQFP100) for our Project and trying to configure and design an ETHERNET (MII Mode) interface. While configuring it using CUBEMX,1) ETH_TXD2 is showing up on PC2_C Pin (No Alternative Pins Available).2)ETH_TX_CLK is showing up on PC3_C Pin (No Alternative Pins Available). On the other hand, In the Datasheet it says,The Above Functionalities are available on PC2 and PC3 Pins Respectively (Not on PC2_C and PC3_C). But the above Selected Controller has PC2_C and PC3_C Pins (PC2 and PC3 Pins are not available). 3) Adding to the Above Query, In the Ethernet Interface Characteristics section of the Data Sheet, it is mentioned as following:"Due to timing constraint Pxy_C I/Os cannot be used as ethernet signals" Can you please provide a Clarification on this as well. My Question is, can we still use available PC2_C and PC3_C for the above Functionalities. If not, what are the alternative ways in which we can achieve ab

Hello,I am wondering/unsure about the XSPIM in H/RS MCUs.I want to connect a quad-SPI NOR flash to an XSPI. Is the XSPIM needed at all?Let's say the XSPIM is in default configuration, i.e. EN bit in XSPIM_CR is 0.Does that mean that I can configure the XSPI like I would configure a QUADSPI peripheral? That is, I would configure GPIOs that the NOR flash is connected to (AF mode, speed, etc.).Then I would configure the XSPI CR, DCR and so on.Is that correct? Or do I need to configure the XSPIM (see Figure 194 in RM0477,rev7, therethe XPIM is present). Thanks!

Hi guysThis project here was built and debugged fine last week. Today, I get this message:'Launching has encounteres a problem. As I said, running and debuging the project worked nice some days ago, and I do not see reason why it does not continue its fluent work

What does a red highlight mean? I am able to select the pin for the function I want but I'm seeing at least two pins with of these red highlights. One is an GPIO output which toggles fine. The other is for an EXTI which no longer generates an interrupt when the signal transitions.

Hello everyone,I am looking for middleware to control NAND flash using the STM32U535CE.The target device is the Macronix MX35LF4G24AD.I would like to perform page program/read, bad block management, and 8-bit ECC processing per 524 bytes. However, I cannot find middleware compatible with the STM32U535CE.Could you let me know if such middleware is available? Thanks and regardsKa_T

in the ili9341.c file located  in the "stm32cube_FW_F4_Vxx/drivers/BSP/Components/ili9341.c" in this file there is a function called LCD_IO_Init(); what file is this function at i noticed that in the ili9341.h file the function prototype for LCD_IO_Init(); in in that but i cant find where this function actually is

Hello, ST expertI'm using the STM32G0B1RCT6 and have enabled the LSECSSON. I've discovered a rather incredible phenomenon. I'm using a 3.3V battery for VBAT. When I disconnect the VDD of the MCU, it abnormally triggers the LSECSS fault. As a result, after disconnecting the VDD of the MCU, the system uses the LSI as the RTC clock. However, the LSI cannot operate in the VBAT voltage domain. Below is my log：« hello world! DR:[0x2101] TR:[0x00] BDCR:[0x00]DR:[0x2101] TR:[0x00] BDCR:[0x00]DR:[0x2101] TR:[0x00] BDCR:[0x00] not init backup domain! Hi evryone, I'm trying to initialise a very basic UART communication between my stm32 L552ZE-Q and my computer by following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEQwSl8mCFs&t=924s I have no errors, no warning while compiling and the problem is that there is nothing displayed on the PuTTy teminal. I also used TeraTerm and VScode serial terminal and nothing happened. I tried also on an other computer and same problem. I have upgraded the code by adding a blinking LED to verify if something is even running and the LED is blinking but again nothing on Putty...  while (1) { /* USER CODE END WHILE */ /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2, tx_buffer, 27, 10); HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_9); HAL_Delay(1000); } I've checked the COM port used in my device manager and set the correct Baud rate, I don't know to do next. Thank you for your help! Louis

Hi, i can definitely use a push in the right direction as i am really stuck on this one. Goal is to push new firmware onto a STM32F446 via the built-in bootloader. For this i have connected two MCU's on a CAN bus, the receiving one is a STM32F446. I use CAN2 (see an2606 table 80) pin PB5 as RX and PB13 as TX.  Strange combination by the way. One if default and one is the alternate pin. Anyway.. Baudrate is set to 125kHz on both MCU's. I reset the STM32F446 with BOOT0 high so i get into the bootloader. On the sending side, i send out a can message with id 0x79 with one byte data, a 0x00. (documention states it does not matter what you send, so i thought to do one byte with just a zero)    This should trigger a response from the bootloader with a ACK, but it does not. I get nothing. What i see is that the target reboots after this message. I suspect becuase of a timeout or other error or so. It happens fast, so timeout is probably in a few ms or so. I have tried diffe

Hello,I would like to go a bit deep in the inductive wake up function. Unfortunatly seems that i will need to work with delta 1 at least for the moment, but due that it is a battery powered device i need to avoid as much as fake awake when there is no RFID card in front.1) Im playing with your 3916B Discovery kit connected to  my antena instead ST antena board, and im seeing for example that on phase awaken, mostly of the “fakes” are values under the reference, like i set as reference 120 and fake shows a value of 119, never 121. Is that realistic to say that fakes will follow that logic? Or it is just coincidence…2) Has ST any statistics about behaviour with Delta 1?3) In addition, my feeling is that Just rebooting sometimes the reference is taken for example as 120 and sometimes in a range of 140. i think im not modifying anything. Any idea about why this could be? I mean, is normal to read such different values as reference? Im using Discovery firmware, with no modification.4)

Following up on a diff post.  I have a strange result. If I call the GetSensorId for the VL53L1X we use today I get a return of decimal 61098 which is 0xEEAA.  However the comments in the code claim for the GetSensorId should be: "This function returns the sensor id, sensor Id must be 0xEEAC".  Which is inconsistent? What is even stranger is that the L4CD shows it should be 0xEEAA (which we have not even received yet). I'm perplexed now.

Hello everyone,I'm sitting over here working on one of my projects and found that STM32CubeMX generated code with an error. My project uses the STM32H7R3L8H6H MCU with Ethernet activated in the connectivity. I have my project set to "generate individual files" because I like it more that way. However, the file "eth.c" contains an error at the beginning of the file: #if defined ( __ICCARM__ ) /*!< IAR Compiler */ #pragma location=0x24020000 ETH_DMADescTypeDef DMARxDscrTab[ETH_RX_DESC_CNT]; /* Ethernet Rx DMA Descriptors */ #pragma location=0x24020080 ETH_DMADescTypeDef DMATxDscrTab[ETH_TX_DESC_CNT]; /* Ethernet Tx DMA Descriptors */ #elif defined ( __CC_ARM ) /* MDK ARM Compiler */ __attribute__((at(0x24020000))) ETH_DMADescTypeDef DMARxDscrTab[ETH_RX_DESC_CNT]; /* Ethernet Rx DMA Descriptors */ __attribute__((at(0x24020080))) ETH_DMADescTypeDef DMATxDscrTab[ETH_TX_DESC_CNT]; /* Ethernet Tx DMA Descriptors */ #elif defined ( __GNUC__ ) || defined ( __ARMCC_VERSION )) /* GNU

Hello, I have a brand new STM32C0116-DK evaluation board (official) and I fear I just bricked the on-board ST-Link :\ I wanted to run an example (blink LED) from the CubeIDE provided examples. When I pressed run, a popup displayed to notify me the ST-Link firmware should be updated. So I launched the process but the popup window freezed. I closed CubeIDE and disconnected the USB cable... Now the ST-Link LED is blinking RED at about 0,5 Hz and Windows doesn't detect any USB device at all (nothing is enumerated in device manager, nor a "USB device not working properly" popup) I think I did a mistake...I will need it to work from home home for the two weeks. Is there a way I can force it to pass in update mode? I only have this board at hand right now, so is the only ST-Link debugger I have (had)...

We are beginning to migrate from the L1 to the L4.  Wondering if there is a way to auto-detect which sensor is on the board? I would like to build one fw version which abstracts away which sensor is in use (albeit taking advantage of diff features) but all I see is SWVersion API which only returns version not type.  Both appear to be same address on I2C for us. Thanks, Will

Hi. I'm developing a custom board using STM32WB09TEF7TR microcontroller.I had a problem re-accessing the microcontroller using SWD once I finished programming one time.I found that it is due to the SPI3 (PA3) and one GPIO pin (PA2) sharing the pin for SWD (SWCLK and SWDIO).So, I want to control this microcontroller with two stages, "operation mode" / "programming mode", that change the pin setting from SPI3 / GPIO_out to not assigned pin for SWD. Could you tell me what I can do about this?I failed to change the pin setting using the function below. void enter_SWD_mode(void){GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct = {0}; GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_3;GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT;GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL;GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_LOW;HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStruct); GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = SYNC_Pin;GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT;GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL;GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_LOW;HAL_GPIO_Init(S

I want to pair my Oticon hearing aid with a Bluetooth LE audio/Auracast transceiver for streaming from laptop or mobile or TV to my hearing aid. It is a personal use case and am looking at some of the chipsets along with Eval kit or USB dongle that STMicro offers.I wish to know if there is any related example use case with any of the Eval kits that STMicro provides.

I am generating code for the STM32WL33 using CUBEIDE 1.17 and am using CMSIS V2. The IOC editor insists (but does not enforce) that NEWLIB_REENTRANT be enabled before generation. When compiling, the file "FreeRTOS.h" erroneously includes "newlib-freertos.h", which does not exist. Other projects I have that use a similar configuration have different content in the same file, including <reent.h>. Is this what it is supposed to be, and do I have the correct version of 'FreeRTOS.h'. This file looks like it is edited during the generation process, so do I have the wrong prototype? The source is below, with the modification it does compile. CubeMX behaves in the same manner.  /* Required if struct _reent is used. */#if ( configUSE_NEWLIB_REENTRANT == 1 ) #include "newlib-freertos.h" // generated by WL33 IOC-- OR --#include <reent.h> // generated by a different project #endif /* if ( configUSE_NEWLIB_REENTRANT == 1 ) */Thanks.

Generating Code / Run Simulator / Program and Run Target (F4 / F5 / F6) commands fail.Output: which means "command not found" or "is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." in english. The funny thing is, that when the build commands are started from the MINGW envrionment, it works. But thanks to several days of digging and comparison to an other machine where it works, I was finally able to find the culprit: on the broken machine, I had a directory with an "&" in the path envrionment variable (thanks to my company's name "... GmbH & Co KG"). This directory is totally unrelated to ST stuff but nevertheless breaks building from within TouchGFX Designer (and also from tgfx.exe). Short term solution until bugfix: make sure no "&" lingers in your PATH variable!

In the search for a distance senor which can sample at highest rate. Given the constraint of a measurement range <1m and accuracy of relative distance changes in the low mm range. Ideally we could get a sampling rate of 1kHz.The VL53L4 sensors would be priced quite reasonable, but I am afraid the sampling rate will not be sufficient to track the movement of our object. Also, is my understanding correct that at he the same accuracy the VL53L4CX should result at twice the rate of returned distance measurements compared to the VL53L4CD. Due to the way how the A/B measurement results are combined. I.e. only one new A(or B) measurement taken and the other value used from before. The VL53L4xD directly returns the distance so I assume it can't be configured in a similar way or could it? I have found a non ST part that could match our requirements, so I'm wondering if ST has any upcoming part with a higher sampling rate in the pipeline as well.

Hi,I'm trying to drive a Maxon 574741 BLDC motor with hall sensors, using your STEVAL-SPIN3204 evaluation board. I have installed MC Workbench, STM32CubeMX and the STM32CubeIDE. I'm rather new to motor control and the parameter setup for my motor in MC Workbench is a bit tricky.I finally am able to run the motor with Motor Pilot and the motor is running quiet and with ease, but I cannot seem to control the speed nor the direction of the motor! There is a potentiometer on the SPIN3204 board but I'm not sure what to do with it. If I activate it in the MC Workbench and then try to adjust it while running the motor, it will cause the motor to change direction in a microsecond and then I get an over voltage error. Even the smallest adjustment on the potentiometer will result in the above. The RPM meter in Motor Pilot shows an RPM value that might be true, but I cannot change it. The "handle" below the meter, "Speed Reference", is moving of its own and if I try to change it manually nothing ha

In the library functions of arduino, I found that there are only existing functions that receive WiFi, uri, and so on. Now I want to receive picture bytes and store them in an array, but I can't find any built-in functions that are used to receive them.

Hi!  I am working on a project where we are using DMA driven SPI-transmissions. I am using LPTIM1 to synchronize readouts of multiple SPI busses. The setup works when the transmissions is equal or below 128 bits (for SPI1-SPI3).  When HAL_DMA_MuxSyncConfigTypeDef.RequestNumber is above 4 (at DMA_PDATAALIGN_WORD and DMA_MDATAALIGN_WORD) it will not work.  From what I can understand this is due to the size of the fifo registers of the SPI-peripheral.  Is there a workaround for this?  This is my current setup: DMA_InitTypeDef txDMAinit; DMA_InitTypeDef rxDMAinit; spiHandle.Init.Mode = SPI_MODE_MASTER; spiHandle.Init.Direction = SPI_DIRECTION_2LINES; spiHandle.Init.DataSize = SPI_DATASIZE_32BIT; spiHandle.Init.CLKPolarity = SPI_POLARITY_LOW; spiHandle.Init.CLKPhase = SPI_PHASE_1EDGE; spiHandle.Init.NSS = SPI_NSS_HARD_OUTPUT; spiHandle.Init.BaudRatePrescaler = SPI_BAUDRATEPRESCALER_16; spiHandle.Init.FirstBit = SPI_FIRSTBIT_MSB; spiHandle.Init.TIMode = SP

I have a project that uses DMA in circular mode, and i've implemented the half and complete interrupts necessary to manage the transfer.  I'm using just 2 nodes, and I've noticed that I get a complete interrupt to start the transfer, and then the expected half-complete-half-complete-etc pattern I'd expect.  I've definitely enabled the HT interrupt, but i still always see the TC hit first to start the process. What is that?  Is it a nuance of circular mode?

Hi, I have a STEVAL-STWINKT1B that I am using to log data into my PC with HSDPython_SDK. How can I set the accelerometer range (for example IIS3DWB to 16g)? Regards, Ivan
