I'm trying to control a strip of 9 SK6812RGBW LED's with an STM32H757XIH6 microcontroller. I've been through a couple of tutorials on how to use DMA to control the PWM, and I've gone with this tutorial as a base.I've read a few threads on the forum but haven't managed to find any solutions from them.I'm fairly new to this level of microcontroller programming with timers, DMA, etc. These are the timings for SK6812RBGW:The clock is configured as so:The APB1 Timer clock is at 240mhzI'm using TIM3 configured as shown:Now I've tried a few different configs of the DMA stream, currently I'm trying with half word as TIM3 is a 16 bit timer. The LED strip is connected to PC7 via a 1.3kohm pullup resistor to 5V.Here's the code I'm using, mostly following the digikey tutorial code: /* * led.h * * Created on: Jan 27, 2025 * Author: Graeme */ #ifndef APPLICATION_USER_CORE_DASH_APP_LED_LED_H_ #define APPLICATION_USER_CORE_DASH_APP_LED_LED_H_ #include "header.h" #include "tim.h" #

Hi,I have interfaced an STM32H723 to an MRAM that is SRAM compatible, using FMC.. The memory is SRAM compatible, 20bit address and 16bit data. The main control pins for the memory are: CHIP ENABLE (~E), WRITE ENABLE (~W) and OUTPUT ENABLE (~G). FMC clock is 64MHz. System clock is 64MHz.The problem(s):1. in my example, HAL_SRAM_Read_16b works correctly. ~E and ~G are triggered, and data is read correctly. 2. in my example, HAL_SRAM_Write_16b does not trigger either ~E, nor ~W. Writing happens (can see it in Memory View in STM32CubeIde) but it is not actually saved in the MRAM. Therefore, data is lost in the next reset of the uC.3.  Surprisingly, if I open a Memory View in STM32CubeIde and write in memory "by hand", ~E and ~W get triggered (correct functionality!).  All examples give HAL_OK as result. I have two questions regarding this:How come Memory viewer works correctly but calling the HAL functions does not trigger the ~W and ~E in the memory? How does Memory Viewer

Hello everyone, I am writing some code to control an IS31FL3736 LED Matrix Driver which communicates over I2C. I am using a Nucleo H563 as the devboard. I have 4.7k pullup resistors on the SDA and SCL lines. I am using I2C4 with PG6 & PG7 as the SDA & SCL pins respectively. The problem I am running into is that occasionally when I try to call HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit(), both the data and clock lines get pulled low by the microcontroller. The original call to HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit() fails because of a timeout, and all successive calls to HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit() timeout. The only status bits I see set in the peripheral's I2C_ISR are TXE and BUSY. I didn't see any behavior like this listed in the errata, as well as I couldn't find any references to this behavior elsewhere online. The exact configuration of I2C4 is as follows (all code was generated by CubeMX):250MHz peripheral clockI2C_CR1 = 0x00000001 (only PE is set)I2C_CR2 = 0x020220A6 (SADD=0xA6, START=1, NBYTES=2

Hi,Made a prototype board with a STM32WB55RGV. For testing the wake up I reduced to only UART1, incoming SYS WAKEUP PIN 4 (PA2), control LED on PB10, Serial Wire debugging. HSE/LSE present, but not used. BLE is not used, the firmware deleted, etc.If I test by HAL_GPIO_ReadPin I can clearly detect Vcc on the Wake up pin (configured then as input) while pressing the button connected to this pin. Loosening falls down to 0/GND. A multimeter confirms 3.1V while pressing, 0V while loosening the button / in rest.Just a simple code: if (__HAL_PWR_GET_FLAG(PWR_FLAG_SB) != RESET) { __HAL_PWR_CLEAR_FLAG(PWR_FLAG_SB); } HAL_PWR_DisableWakeUpPin(PWR_WAKEUP_PIN4); HAL_Delay(1000); HAL_PWR_EnableWakeUpPin(PWR_WAKEUP_PIN4_HIGH); __HAL_PWR_CLEAR_FLAG(PWR_FLAG_WU); HAL_PWR_EnterSTANDBYMode(); The device reaches standby mode, I notice the debugger lost contact after some seconds, pretty normal I guess. While pressing the button, confirming high level on PA2/SysWakeUp4 nothing happens. If I

I have a Sensor Tile.Box pro and I want to communicate using I2C to an external peripheral using the PG7 and PG8 pins, which are the I2C3 SCL and SDA pins. However I am unable to get as much as basic GPIO working on those two pins, let alone I2C.I have created a small standalone project for the ST32U585 chip, and using that project I can get I2C and GPIO working without any issues. But when I copy over the working code for initializing the clock and GPIO pins from the standalone project over to the SDDataLogFileX project (which I got from here, and uses the Azure RTOS) the GPIO pins no longer work. Below is the relevant code I'm using. int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USER CODE END Init */ /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Conf

I'm trying uart loopback and checking if I'm receiving the transmitted data on the receive buffer, I'm using nucleo-u575zi board , uart2 I'm using , baudrate is 57600 , the tx pin & rx pin are configured as shown below  GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_2; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_AF_OD; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL; GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_LOW; GPIO_InitStruct.Alternate = GPIO_AF7_USART2; HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStruct); GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_3; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL; GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_LOW; GPIO_InitStruct.Alternate = GPIO_AF7_USART2; HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStruct);   I'm using receive in interrupt mode and in ISR function I'm trying to receive byte by byte, And also, before going to receive callback it goes error callback function where the error-code is 4 and then it goes rxcallback where byte by byte reception happens,

Hi team, I was trying to establish CAN communication between Matlab Simulink and 2 nodes, through STM32 board. Our logic is working fine when checked individual device. But communication is not taking place when respective nodes are connected to Can1 and Can2 and checked parallelly. Is STM32 Nucleo-F446 series board really capable of handling 2 CAN channels simultaneously ?If no, how can we solve the issue of communicating with both nodes at a time ? Thank you,M Satya Prashanth9515992585

We are developing product with VL53L8CH integrated. Now I have to developed simple firmware that will extract data and control it and for that I need datasheet with registers description. After searching for over an hour, I cant find any datasheet, user manual or application note on this topic.

I'm just looking for some clarification on a few points, having watched one or two of the training videos.  I have bought a NUCLEO-G031K8 dev board, but was wondering if I could just go straight to my target board 1. in the project setup, it asks what board I want to use.  Can I not just use my target as the dev board and if so how do I do that 2. I have made the assumption that the SWDIO and SWCLK are fully functional even if I use my target.  Is this correct? 3. Will the IDE debugger will work with my target board, or will it only work with the NUCLEO 4. Asking the more experienced people here, is it just safer and quicker all round to go with the NUCLEO for s/w dev, and then flash the binary to the target? (the s/w is about 1000 lines of code, so it's a porting + partial rewrite exercise for this first project) Thankyou AndrewR

I am using NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q eval board. I am trying to blink RGB LEDs. But RED LED which is connected GPIOG pin 2 is not toggling.

I have just purchased a STM32H573I-DK Discovery board, only to find it doesn't appear to recognise the ST-link V3.  Is this a true problem, or just me, and is there a solution?

hi,When I want to generate the code, it says that the STM32CubeMX version is not supported. Even though I downloaded the latest version, it still gives the same problem.  How can I solve this problem?Thank you

Hello everyone,I am using the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 NFC Shield that has the ST25R3920B chip. I want to know if it is possible to use this to make OOB Bluetooth with my android smartphone, and if so how can I achieve it. I read some documentation regarding the demos in X-Cube-NFC6 with card emulation, but I don´t if that is suitable for what I am trying to achieve.

Hello,I try to test the BLE on my Nucleo-STM32WB55 board.I use the v1.21.0 ST package for WB boards with BLE_Zigbee_Dyn exemple.I can use Zigbee without problems, but i never be able to use BLE. I can't discover device on ST BLE sensor classic.I upload the stm32wb5x_BLE_Zigbee_FFD_dynamic_fw.bin.Thanks.

I am developing in C++ on a STM32U5, with HAL and was trying to figure how to embed interrupt handling in a class. So I've questioned ChatGPT and DeepSeek for a solution and both gave an answer using pUserData field for storing object reference.pUserData is a field provided by any handler (like UART_HandleTypeDef) and ... I do not have such field with my version of HAL that CubeIDE used for building my project.I've pinpointed that problem to DeepSeek that gave me this answer:Okay, the user mentioned that the HAL handlers don't have a pUserData field. Hmm, I need to recall which STM32 HAL versions include that. Oh right, older versions might not have it, especially before HAL introduced the MSP layer with user data pointers. So, is there a version of HAL with that field ? My version of HAL seems not so old (and U5 family is rather new), so how much recent should be HAL version to have this field ? Or both AI are totally dumb ?

In my project I use a L9826, 6 Outputs are used conventionally 2 outputs are not used. In the same project I need to have 2 digital inputs (SPI) and I would like to know if I could use the two unused outputs of the L9826 as HCMOS inputs via the Fault status register; would this type of unconventional use be possible? Thanks

Hello everyone,I'm working on the µc STM32H5, I have an application that runs correctly, and when I configure the threadX in the project for which I've configured the TIM6 as the basic timer and I've released the SysTic for the threadX using CubeMx. I've had a problem with the HAL_Delay API, which doesn't work outside my configured tasks because the TIM6 handler isn't triggered and consequently the uwtic doesn't increment any more.In NVIC I've configured a priority of 15 for the TIM6.After debugging I found that the TIM configuration is correct but the Handler is not triggered.  Any feedback is appreciated!

Hello! I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen, but when clicking Clock Configuration -> Reset Clock Configuration in the IDE, it doesn't actually reset to the board defaults that were configured when the project was initially created, but instead to some bogus values. While playing with my stm32 nucleo64-f401re, I needed to reset the clocks to the defaults that were configured originally, so using this option seemed like the way to go. I clicked the option, regenerated the code, and didn't check back on the clocks page, thinking it reset them to the correct values. Turns out, it set my clock speed way above the limit of my MCU, and random values to the phrepherals, which I ultimatly ended up actually flashing on the board.I'm not sure if this is a bug, but if it is, please let me know where I can report this issue. But first, I figured I'd make a forum post to make sure this is the intended behavior. Thanks!

Hi Experts,We are building a battery based product based STM32G030F6 MCU. We are using Arduino environment as we need multiple Arduino libraries for the project.Well our software is working fine, however we are facing issue with the current consumption. It has to wakeup every 5 seconds and send some data. We are able to put microcontroller in DeepSleep mode using STM32LowPower Library In deepSleep mode it takes around 175uA current. We need to further reduce the current consumption to less 20-25uA. So we are trying to use shutdown mode but not able to use it.When we use shutdown mode, it still takes 175 uA. When analyzed the code we found that it is falling back to deep sleep mode when it does not found LSE. When LSE is available it tries to call function HAL_PWREx_EnterSHUTDOWNMode() It is available in Arduino core for STM32. File name stm32g0xx_hal_pwr_ex.c We tried to call this function (with LSI enabled) in library'sLowPower_shutdown() function instead of f

Hello I have questions about Nucleo-F446ZE. So basically my company already has Simulink and Matlab for new members to learn MBD, and my company also has Nuleo-F446ZE. Previously, I tried to inject the program from Simulink to the Arduino device to make sure that the embedded coder was working and the result was that the program was successfully injected. Then I tried to increase the level to STM32 where we chose Nucle-F446ZE as a test. When I first connected the Nucleo Board to the computer, everything was fine and there was nothing strange. However, when I tried to inject a simple blink program with LED buildin from simulink to the nucleo board, it failed even though I had followed the official tutorial given. After I observed it, it turned out that the overcurrent LED was lit on the board and when I touched the MCU it was very hot. Then I checked the 3.3V line with GND and found that there was a short that was not there before. My question is whether a program injection erro

Hi,It seems the X-CUBE-AZRTOS-F7 1.1.0 is based on ThreadX 6.1.7. But after select 'Enable BASEPRI support', it missed several files which exist in the official 6.1.7 release, they are:tx_thread_interrupt_disable.S and _tx_thread_interrupt_restore.S.Thanks. '

Hi,We have a design that at normal temperatures runs fine (21C). If it goes below 0C it starts failing to boot. The system has the Secure Boot Secure Firmware Update (SBSFU) system on it. We found that putting a delay at the start of the main() function in bl2_main.c seems to allow it to run. The delay needs to be about half a second. Then as we reduce the temperature towards -40C we find we need to increase the delay to over a second to get it to work.Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas what could be going on?ThanksNigel

Hi,i tried to write a option byte, which did not work i think.A FLASH mass erase with the programmer does not work: "Error: Mass erase operation failed. Please verify flash protection"Is it possible to brick a chip with a failed flash write operation?   while(READ_BIT(FLASH->SR, FLASH_SR_BSY)); // Wait to until no flash activity if(HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); // Unlock FLASH HAL_FLASH_OB_Unlock(); // Unlock Option bytes WRITE_REG(FLASH->OPTR, 0xfbeff8aa); SET_BIT(FLASH->CR, FLASH_CR_OPTSTRT); while(READ_BIT(FLASH->SR, FLASH_SR_BSY)); // Wait to until no flash activity

Dear STM32 Community,I am working on a PCB design for the STM32WL5 and would like to seek confirmation regarding my design approach. Specifically, in the top layer, I have an RF signal track, and in the second layer, there is a GND plane. However, I have cut the GND plane directly below the RF signal track.Could you please confirm if this design approach adheres to best practices, or if there are any potential issues with this configuration? I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions based on your experience with STM32WL5 designs.Looking forward to your feedback.Thank you in advance!

Dear ST experts. We are a module manufacturer. We have designed a module based on WL33. We have been using ST's dk board for verification. However, when we tested the distance, the original dk board was about 200 meters. With a 20dbm and -12X sensitivity, we have high expectations for this chip. Do you have ST distance test reports and parameters?2. If our deviation is <2.5Khz, does it mean that we need to replace the TCXO? B.R. Weili Wang.
