I want to initialize the STM32H573 ETH module using the STM32CubeMX code generator (see ioc file attached). It should run in MII mode using an external transceiver.I kept the configuration unchanged, however it always jumps to ErrorHandler, because HAL_ETH_Init returns HAL_ERROR on timeout of ETH_DMAMR_SWR at the following routine: SET_BIT(heth->Instance->DMAMR, ETH_DMAMR_SWR); /* Get tick */ tickstart = HAL_GetTick(); /* Wait for software reset */ while (READ_BIT(heth->Instance->DMAMR, ETH_DMAMR_SWR) > 0U) { if (((HAL_GetTick() - tickstart) > ETH_SWRESET_TIMEOUT)) { /* Set Error Code */ heth->ErrorCode = HAL_ETH_ERROR_TIMEOUT; /* Set State as Error */ heth->gState = HAL_ETH_STATE_ERROR; /* Return Error */ return HAL_ERROR; } }From what I've read on this forum, the ETH somehow needs an external clock input from the transceiver. However, ETH_REF_CLK is only defined in RMII mode, but I want MII mode with RX and TX clocks. Does it st

I downloaded the STM32H753 SVD file from https://www.st.com/resource/en/svd/stm32h7-svd.zipI have found a number of discrepancies between this file and RM0433  (reference manual)That leaves me wondering if this file is outdated and a more recent, corrected version exists somewhere?Examples:FDCAN_DBTP is read-only access in SVD but read-write in RM0433FDCAN_RXF1C is missing F1OM (Bit 31) in SVD, exists in RM0433FDCAN_TEST is read-only access in SVD but read-write in RM0433

Hi,I am using VL53L8CX sensor from Pololu and connected it with Nucleo-F411RE board. I am using Arduino IDE 2.3 where I have downloaded STM32duino VL53L8CX library. When I run HelloWorld_I2C example with the wire  connections as mentioned with (SPI/I2c-->GND, Lpn-->A3), I am getting the distance result. But when I do the same with the HelloWorld_SPI example with mentioned connection (SPI/I2c-->3v3, Lpn-->3v3), I am getting nothing. When I put the breaker in between, the initialization itself fails saying sensor initialization status 1. I would be a great relief if you could help me with this.Thank you

Hi, CARHER  I just want to know what is the software you show in the picture? Where to download it? thank you. post created based on a command posted on an old thread. here is the picture mentioned by the customer:

Hi, I use STM32CubeMX 6.10.0 and I have a STM32H7 CPU.The LPTIM is a frequency counter that can give an ISR when thecounter reached a specified value; after reaching this value it startsagain from zero (ARR mode), or it continues towards the max valueon 16 bits and then starts again from zero (CMP mode)My question is: can I configure from CubeMX this LPTIM in CMP mode?To me it seems there is no settings for this, whatever I do it's still in ARR mode ..the solution would be to make manual code changes ?

HelloA few days ago, I went through the SDMMC registers using stm32l4r9-discovery.I am using the "June 2021 RM0432 Rev 9" and haven't found a more recent datasheet for it.Using stm32cubeide (1.17.0) (window->show view->)SFRs panel, the bits shown in SDMMC1 STA don't match with the datasheet ones in 54.10.11 SDMMC_STAR section as follow. The IDMA labels are missing too in SFRs.In 54.10.17 (p. 2030/3000), the IDMABNDT attribute is defined for the [12:5] bits (8-bit long value). On the bit table, the 16th bit is shown as "rw" which is false as the [31:13] are specified as "reserved, must be kept at reset value". (In some stm32 boards, the sdmmc IDMABNDT is defined on [5:16] bits so it just might be a copy-paste error). My main concerns about this register are the differences between the datasheet and HAL function. The datasheet specifies a constant bit offset 5 for IDMABNDT, but in the HAL function, the IDMABSIZE is set depending on the BLOCKSIZE (constant 512 bytes) which is unclear/c

Hello everyone,I'm working on a project for which I designed a custom board. Hi,I'm trying to learn programming STM32MP157 with qt library using boot2qt module.I flashed microSD card using boot2qt module, prepared and employed samlpe project from qt Creator to STM32MP157. - this works fine. Now I would like to control interfaces (ec. GPIO, SPI, CAN) in STM using qt.  - there is where my knowledge ends.I think so that I should connect libraries delivered by STM  to my qt project?, So what libraries I should including to control DIDO?

Hi thereStarting pointI am currently working on porting our NFC implementation from the ST25R3916 to the ST25R100.We will also replace our current library (Lib-NFC & ST_25r & RFAL) and use the current libraries (RFAL and NDEF) from ST.For the migration I currently use a NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q board and two NFC shields (X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1 with the current ST25R3916 and X-NUCLEO-NFC09A1 with the new ST25R100).I already successfully migrated our implementation to the new library. I'm able to poll for NFCA and NFCV tags using the X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1 shield.Issue DescriptionWith the X-NUCLEO-NFC09A1 shield connected, I'm not able to discover any NFCA or NFCV tags. Communication with the ST25R100 seems to work just fine (no errors).gNfcDev.state enters states: RFAL_NFC_STATE_START_DISCOVERY, RFAL_NFC_STATE_POLL_TECHDETECT and RFAL_NFC_STATE_LISTEN_TECHDETECT (which indicates that no tag has been detected) May you have a clue why ST25R100 sees nothing?Any support is highly appreciated.Best,S

Hello,I am using the internal pull up for the input pins, but when read the port status using the program, it always reads 0 instead of 1. I expected it to read 1 and if make that pin grounded it shall read 0.

I'm trying to add an LIS2MDL (STEVAL-MKI181V1) magnetometer to my LSM6DSV32X's (STEVAL-MKI240KA) sensor hub. I can't get the LSM6DSV32X to properly identify the LIS2MDL, and I'm not sure if it's a hardware- or firmware-related problem. My current hardware configuration is:SCx on MKI240KA tied to SCL on MKI181V1SDx on MKI240KA tied to SDA on MKI181V1INT2 on MKI240KA tied to DRDY on MKI181V1Jumpers on MKI240KA shifted to SCx/SDx positionsCS on MKI181V1 tied to VddFor context I'm using Zephyr RTOS, but the initialization sequence for the LSM6DSV32X should be the same, especially since it fails right at the beginning when attempting to identify slaves. From the LA output, it looks like the LSM6DSV32X is trying to communicate with the external sensor but it can't sufficiently drive its SCx/SDx pins?

Hello all,   I made my first "from scratch" STM32 board (in the past I always used demo boards).  I cabled JTAG connector  : I was able to flash and debug from CubeIDE in SWD mode with a Stlinkv2, but did not succeed in JTAG mode, don't know why but it is not my today's topic. Works ok for what I did at the time.  I used the internal clock (HSI RC) and my application worked well.   Then I wanted to add USB, so I had to use an HSE clock (it seems the HSI RC is not stable enougth). i added external quartz (ABLS 8 MHz with two 33pf capacitors), changed the clocking configuration from the Cube assistant, regenerated the code, then flashed. Now the chip is nor more accessible, it does not boot, and I can't flash it, even if I change the clocking setup to HSI RC again.   I have two questions :    - is there a way to get my board STM32F303 flashed again or is it dead ?    - Is there a way to make some electrical diagno

Using MC Workbench to generate an ST Motor Control application and selecting the EVSPIN32G4 as the inverter, it includes the STM32G431VBTx LQFP100 (100 pin edition). This can be seen when opening CubeMX (screenshot included).The EVSPIN32G4 comes with the STSPIN32G4 in the package type "VFQFPN 9X9X1.0 64" using STM32G431VBx3 as according to its datasheet. Hence it is the wrong package type (64 pins vs 100 pins) and more pins are exposed for use than actually available on the inverter board. If I try to create a project directly in CubeMX using STM32G431VBx3, only STM32G431VBT3 shows up (LQFP 100 package), which is indeed what the MC Workbench is selected with EVSPIN32G4. So it is not possible to create a project using STM32G431VBx3 with 64 pin package at all. [VERSION]: 6.3.2 (latest version for all tools)[TOOL]: MC WB[DETAILS]: See above.[EXPECTED BEHAVIOR]: Correct package type used for EVSPIN32G4 (VFQFPN 9X9X1.0 64)[HOW TO REPRODUCE]: See above.

I have designed a STM32F429 Custom TFT Board With 4.3" TFT it is based on 32F429IDISCOVERY MCU + RAM + 4.3" TFT in 16 bit mode and I'm using TouchGFX. I have few questions.1) It is possible to remove External RAM from the System.2) How to limit RAM Usage so as to use the internal MCU RAM only

I have set up a UART as receiver. I use circular buffer to copy the data in. The code pretty much works ok with one exception:If the last byte of incoming data frame is to be saved in index 0 (UARTRx[0]), the data appears at this address AFTER the buffer counter indicates the data to be ready at that location. the delay could be few hundred microseconds. Is it possible that the counter is updated, but the value is still not written yet?   /* Private includes ----------------------------------------------------------*/ #include "BMS.h" #include "cmsis_os.h" #include "string.h" /* Private typedef -----------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Private define ------------------------------------------------------------*/ #define RX_BUF_SIZE 255 // must be power of 2 #define TX_BUF_SIZE 9 #define FR_BUF_SIZE 32 /* Private macro -------------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Private variables ----------------------------------

I’m using the VL53L8CH sensor with an ESP32 and developing a program in Arduino language based on Example_10_motion_indicator.c provided by ST. I successfully obtained the motion indicator output using a 4x4 map.Next, I tried switching to an 8x8 map by applying the following settings: VL53L8CH sensor(&Wire, LPn_PIN); sensor.set_resolution(VL53LMZ_RESOLUTION_8X8);sensor.motion_indicator_init(&motion_config, VL53LMZ_RESOLUTION_8X8);  However, when I checked the output, I noticed that the 1st and 2nd values, as well as the 9th and 10th values, are identical, resulting in behavior similar to a 4x4 map.Could you please advise if there are any additional settings required or if this might be related to a library issue? Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated.

New question moved from this original thread. Thanks for the quick response. So basically the HW is configured in SMPS. So in order to obtain 480MHz, what changes should i do to the hardware. Or is there any way i could do it without changing the hardware? In SW, I will select LDO with scaling VOS0 or is there anything else i could do. Also i checked the threads you mentioned, It is indeed similar issue but not exactly the same as for me it works fine when im running the cores m7 and m4 in 400MHz and 200Mhz respectively. I chose "PWR_DIRECT_SMPS_SUPPLY" while running at 400MHz and it works fine. Im confused about the HW changes required to run at 480MHz or a configuration that could make it run in 480MHz without any hardware change. Thanks again.

I am doing a datalogger application with a custom piece of hardware using STM32 and FileX middleware. While datalogging, it occassionally experiences a spike in write and flush times that seems to be random to me. So I tried to make a simple application just to test it.The setup: The custom board uses STM32H563 MCU directly connected to the SD card slot hardware component. I generated my code using STM32CubeMX with FileX in standalone mode. So I am not using LevelX or ThreadX (from Azure RTOS). The SDMMC peripheral has a clock speed of 25MHz, with 0 SDMMC clock divide factor. This gives me the maximum SD default speed according to the reference manual. The SD cards used are FAT32 with 4096KB sector size. For debugging and testing purposes, I am continuously logging an array of 32768 bytes that is in the program. I have given the media file 102400 bytes that is aligned to 32 bytes. The code is simple. With the media and file open, the code writes the 32KB of data and immediately flu

Hi, I am using the STM32 NUCLEO-F401RE board and have already use the HAL APIs to blink the led. now I want to blink the onboard user led [LD2] using the FTDI module and want to use the USART6 for it can anyone please help and explain me in detail that how I will be doing this?

STM32H735G-DK debug QuestionI try to use board STM32H735G-DK.I connected JP7 to the STLK to change the power source and connected the PC and board via CN15 with USB microB.In STM32CubeIDE 1.13.0, I make project for the board and debug ( Fig.1 ).I haven't added anything to the created files, but debugging failed ( Fig.2 ).The state of the board is・the monitor is white screen・LD1 and LD2 is not light・LD5 is green and LD6 is redFig. 1 Fig.  2 I thought it might be a deadlock state, so I tried to recover from the deadlock using the STM32CubeProgrammer method as described in the documentation ( https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/um2679-discovery-kit-with-stm32h735ig-mcu-stmicroelectronics.pdf 6.2.4).When I debug after running the method, I get Figure 3 in the debug console. If I debug again I get back to Figure 2.What was wrong with my settings?Could you please give me some advice on how to restore the state and perform debugging?Fig. 3

Hello,I am a beginner, so forgive me if my question is basic.I'm currently working on building a TouchGFX application that reads CAN Values and displays them on the STM32F746F Discovery Board. However, when I try to run the application, the program builds and downloads successfully before I get the error "Could not halt device (18)" and the screen on the board shows up white. So far, the only things that I have done to the application after generating it from TouchGFX is change the clock configuration and activate CAN1. I've attached screenshots of both in case they may be of use. What do you think is causing the error?Thank you.

These excellent articles make the USBX worth a go for more complicated tasks (I wish composite devices were supported in CUBE IDE),How to implement the USB device composite class in STM32 using the Azure packageHow to implement the USB Device CDC (VCOM) in STM32 using the Azure USBX package When creating a composite device, I see that USB_OTG_HS was used rather than the USB_OTG_FS. I know that the HS can use the internal FS PHY STM32 (so it is FS under-the-hood). However, it also changes the pins! My particular application is highly constrained, and I cannot change the pins, so I need to use USB_OTG_FS.  Can I use USB_OTG_FS along with Azure USBX to create a composite device, or does it require USB_OTG_HS? Regards,Daniel

Hello, I'm using STM32CubeIDE Version 1.17.0. A project import from an older Verionen causes an Error message while compiling: Errors occurred during the build.Errors running builder 'CDT Builder' on project '<Projectname>'.Internal error building project <Projectname> configuration DebugEmpty command It seems to be caused by the postcompile scripts:arm-none-eabi-objcopy -O binary ${BuildArtifactFileBaseName}.elf ${BuildArtifactFileBaseName}.bin;arm-none-eabi-size ${BuildArtifactFileBaseName}.elf; The error disappears, if I remove the scripts. Other imported projects are compiled without any errors. Does somebody have a hint for me? Greetings H.

I am working with the STPM34/STPM33 chip and using the STPM34 evaluation board. I have noticed in my own hardware and the eval boards that when you attach power to measure voltage it shorts something and blows up. Is this a known issue? Is there a known solution. I attached a photo. Looks like a resistor that's blowing.
