Posted on June 02, 2017 at 07:32Hai, I am using Stm32f103vbt6 micro controller, I have some issue with interfacing the I2C EEPROM. eeprom is at24cm02. its has only one address pin. In code 'I2C_Send7bitAddress ' this line has sussefully send, My addres byte is 0xA0. but after that while(!I2C_CheckEvent(I2C1, I2C_EVENT_MASTER_TRANSMITTER_MODE_SELECTED)) { /* If the timeout delay is exeeded, exit with error code */ if ((timeout--) == 0) return 0xFF; }this line getting error.what is the reason for this? Please give me a reply

Posted on May 31, 2017 at 20:54I am trying to figure out how to store a constant variable (a constant string of chars) on flash, so it does not occupy valuable blocks of RAM to store a const. In AVR there was something called PROGMEM, but here I can't find any similar method to do so.How can I store a constant array of chars in the Flash memory?#variable #flash #ram

Posted on June 07, 2017 at 09:11HI We are planing to use a new WIFI module from ST for replacing the old module ( form another supplier )  so I :1. bought a NUCLEO-F401RE and a X-NUCLEO.IDW04A boards.2. downloaded the en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware software. 3. done the board setup according to page 6 in UM2183 (Getting started with the X-NUCLEO-IDW04A1)4. compiled the firmware (Server_Socket) with IAR, and downloaded it to the board.5. run.and now the software get stuck in the wifi_reset() function wating for the stage to get started.while(IO_status_flag.WiFi_WIND_State != WiFiHWStarted) { __NOP(); //nothing to do } so before I get started with the big investigation, I was thinking that maybe I wasn't the only one that have see this problem. So I'm hoping that one of you guys can give me a hint, thanks in advance..#x-cube-wifi1 #spwf04sa #x-nucleo-idw04a1

Posted on May 11, 2017 at 14:03Hi,I've been using STM32F405R processors on my boards for a while. I once figured out what the numbers and letters after the R mean, but they were not of any importance to me. (I have plenty with 512Mb flash). This time when ordering a new batch of '405 processors, they (farnell) are offering the STM32F405RGT6V and the 'V' here was new to me. So I looked things up in the datasheet. There it says something like: 'xxx' packaging options like TR for tape and reel. I would like to be sure that it doesn't mean something like 'cheaper version without the second and third ADC'. Roger.

Posted on April 21, 2017 at 02:43 Hello ST community, sorry, maybe I should post my problem here. Now I am working on the wifi module X-NUCLEO-IDW01M1 ,I found some problem. Hardware:NUCLEO-F401RE,X-NUCLEO-IDW01M1 Software:STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V3.0.1 IDE: iar arm 7.1 From the example project I found two types one is SPWF01 another is SPWF04, I found the exampleBinary is the SPW I change the config to SPWF01,but it still not work. 1)en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware (1)\STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V3.0.1\Projects\Multi\Applications\ WiFi_VCOM From the Tera term I found the print message, but when I input 'AT+S.STS',nothing output. 2)en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware (1)\STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V3.0.1\Projects\Multi\Applications\HTTP_Request From this example it will always run at the wifi init. file wifi_module.c line 294and can not run out this function. It seems to wait for the state. I only changed one thing in wifi_conf.h the old one is #define SPWF04,I change to #define S

Posted on May 24, 2017 at 17:35Hi,Designing an NFC enabled product, and just wondering what your views are on radio compliance when using an M24x (or similar NFC tag IC).Although the tag is considered passive it will be designed/integrated into a product. So I guess in that instance the product must be assessed against the radio directive with a representative NFC reader?I would assume article 3.2 of R&TTE would have been relevant (which will be repealed on 13th June this year) would have to be adhered to, but as a passive tag a representative reader would also be necessary for the test. (Phone etc).Thanks,Teddy.

Posted on May 11, 2017 at 11:09A device I had been testing for over two months suddenly started giving FR_DISK_ERR (I'm using Elm Chan's FAT-FS) [http://elm-chan.org/fsw/ff/00index_e.html]. When I tried debugging, the command (CMD0) which must be clocked in to set the SD card into SPI mode (as described in the SD card spec sheet - SDcard.org [https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/sdio/sdio_spec/Simplified_SDIO_Card_Spec.pdf)  return 0xFF and not 0x01, i.e. it failed. My question is:*If CMD0 fails does that mean the SD card controller is not working?*Will it still work in SDIO mode even if CMD0 fails? (I couldn't test it as my uC does not support SDIO)*Can an OS (Linux, Windows, Mac) format this SD card to make it working again? If so how does it do it?--Linux's (I'm using Ubuntu) gparted was giving an error while it was trying to read the disk. I got an error 'input/output error during read on /dev/sdb' Does this mean the SD card is a 'gonner'/ never going to work?

Posted on May 27, 2017 at 04:09Is there anything I am missing while trying to get my STM32F777 chip into DFU mode?I have a 25 MHZ OSC (HSE), NRST is pulled high with a 10K resister and BOOT0(pin138) is pulled low with a switch to pull it high on reset/power on. The chip is totally blank never been programmed, do I need to set any of the option bits or are the defaults correct? How does the chip detect that USB has been connected; the VBUS pin, the ID pin, or just USB communication?I would appreciate any help, thanks,Sheldon

Posted on May 29, 2017 at 17:55Hi all,I'm using USART with DMA to implement a Modbus rtu slave node.I want to implement this:- the USART use DMA to store received characters in a buffer- a contdown-timer count the time between character to recognise the end of the frame.- the timer is loaded when new characters are loaded by the DMA. I want to recognize them with a 20kHz ISR that I use to do other stuff: Checking the value of the DMA count I know if new bytes has arrived.I use the DMA as a sort of FIFO, because:- I don't know the size of the message- I don't want to use a ISR for each character to avoid loss of information.Unfortunately, I didn't find any information about getting DMA count!Does anyone can help me?Thank you very much.#stm32-dma #stm32f4 #modbus

Posted on January 20, 2016 at 10:16Hi, Whenever I regenerate the code using STM32CubeMX the new (re-generated) Keil project has Target/IROM1 Memory Areas overwritten  e.g. I usually use RAM area are for IROM1 for debug purposes and the IROM1 is set to: Start: 0x20000000, size:0x1000 After regenerating the code the IROM1 settings are overwritten and  now I see: Start: 0x8000000, size:0x10000 Is there any way to make STM32Cube preserve Keil Target/IROM settings? Please note Target/IRAM settings are preserved. It looks like a bug. Bogdan

Posted on June 13, 2016 at 17:40Part of ARM's specification of the core (as given by ARM® v7-M Architecture Reference Manual, or ARMv7M ARM for short :) ) is the SysTick counter, and part of that counter is a read-only register, containing a calibration value STK_CALIB, which, when used as a reload for SysTick, would produce a 10ms tick (reload/interrupt etc.etc.). Now, according to PM0214, in ST's incarnation of Cortex-M4 in 'F3 and 'F4, using the calibration value yields a 1ms tick. Well, humm, okay. This is valid, ''when the SysTick counter runs on HCLK max/8'', which is given by STK_CTRL.CLKSOURCE. Funnily, this bit resets to 1, which means SysTick running at HCLK. More hummm. But even if we accept these, the constants are mostly wrong. The reload value should be one less than the required number of clock cycles, and it is not, in most of the families I've looked at (yes for the 'F4 I have already ranted in that ''typos and stuff'' document of mine). Today I've worked with the 'L

Posted on May 31, 2017 at 15:46I am trying to send a large buffer of samples to an external DAC using SPI to create arbitrary waveforms. I have previously done this successfully for 8-bit data and have tried to adapt my code to work with a 16-bit data word size and 16-bit SPI transfers. I am using Hardware NSS and TI mode to activate the external DAC's Synch input at the end of each 16 bits. All of this seems to work. I get the correct number of 16-bit transfers and activations of SCLK and NSS. There are no gaps in the transmission. The problem is the SPI/DMA seems to be transferring only every second word of data. I have captured this on the scope. My test data array is set thus and I have verified its contents using the debugger:uint16_t Pulse_Buffer[10000] = { 0U, 0U, 0x2000U, 0x1000U, 0x800U, 0x400U, 0x200U, 0x100U, 0x80U, 0x40U, 0x20U, 0x10U, 0U, 0U, 0U, 0U };On the scope I see every other word is missing e.g. 0U, 0x1000U, 0x400U, 0x100U, 0x40U, 0x10U, 0U, 0UMy set up routine is t

Posted on May 29, 2017 at 14:01hi,I'm working on a project, on a stm32F101.The product is a proprietary boot-loader and application (which can be updated later on, via the BL).I'll need to hold some production-data, serial-number, etc, less than 256 bytes.I'm short in storage, don't want to waste a whole sector.I want to hold it in a known location, for the application to read, say address 0x08000100, enough for the boot-loader vector-table.I'm trying to flash the 3 via ST-Link Utility command-line interface, but they erase one another. How can I Skip Flash Erase?I'm flashing the boot-loader:ST-LINK_CLI.exe -c SWD -P BootLoader.hex -VI'm flashing the serial-number:ST-LINK_CLI.exe -c SWD -P SerialNumber.bin 0x08000100 -VI'm flashing the application:ST-LINK_CLI.exe -c SWD -P Application.bin 0x08008000 -VMy additions to boot-loader linker script:define symbol __ICFEDIT_intvec_start__                = 0x08000000;def

Posted on May 31, 2017 at 14:56Hello everyone, I have looked up this issue but I am afraid I have been unable to find a solution. I am trying to wake a stm32l151CCT6 MCU up from stop mode by way of USART1 interrupt. I have the RXNE interrupt enabled (I am posting some of my code below) but I seem to never get an interrupt after entering stop mode. Separately, both the usart and enter to/wakeup from stop mode work. Is there something I am missing? If useful, I am using the stm32l1xx standard peripheral library Any help is much appreciated. My code below:/* Enter stop mode */void lpm_enter(void){   /* Turn off LSE and HSE clocks */    cpu_deinit();   /* Disable the Power Voltage Detector */    PWR_PVDCmd(DISABLE);   /* Clear Wakeup flag */    PWR->CR |= PWR_CR_CWUF;   /* Set MCU in ULP (Ultra Low Power) */    PWR_UltraLowPowerCmd(ENABLE);&nb

Posted on May 30, 2017 at 18:56Hi All,I've got a  Nucleo-F103RB, and have been able to successfully implement an SPI interface to an FPGA, using the software to control the flow of the SPI.I want to now move this across to the DMA, such that the DMA transmits and reads the data from the SPI. I've gotten the transmission part of it working correctly; data goes across correctly and the FPGA recognises it.The issue that I have is the STM DMA reading the data, it doesn't come in the correct format:The data from the FPGA is in 8 packets (1 byte each), with the 3 MSB bits indicating its position within the sequence ('000' is first, '001', second, etc.), when I read the data that the DMA has received it doesn't follow this sequence it's all over the place (I know that the FPGA is transmitting the data correctly, as I've gotten this working in software). So I wonder if there are some conflicts with using the DMA, as to read data via SPI, you need to transmit data.Below is a copy of

Posted on May 30, 2017 at 10:07 hi everybody I'm using stm32l151 and I want to use usb peripheral in cdc mode. I used stm32 cubeMx to generate the project. when I connect the boar to PC, I can see the VCP in device manager.however I can't sen any data to PC. The function CDC_Transmit_FS() always return USBD_BUSY. can anyone help me? Here is my code: while (1) { CDC_Transmit_FS(Buffer, 6); HAL_Delay(2000); } I only added the above code to the project created by STM32cubeMX but it didn't work. Thanks
