Posted on July 04, 2017 at 10:45Hello Team,While generating drivers for STM32F7 disco board with STM32CUBEMX tool I have faced the error saying THe HAL timebase source can e changed from the pinout tab under SYS.  Please below picture.  Can I still generate code or is it mandatory to change as per the warning and what would be the impact. Thank you,

Posted on July 03, 2017 at 13:00I am documenting short-circuit behavior of the VND5T050AK.  I remember seeing a threshold around 36-44 A as the trip point to put this chip in the overload state.  However I can't find any spec in the data sheet and can't remember where I saw it.  Does anyone remember where this is documented?

Posted on July 03, 2017 at 16:49Hello again community !I have next problem with my stm32F030RCT6. Problem is with receiving data from UART. In my project I am using all 6 UART’s that is why I can’t use DMA for all UART’s (this Mcu has no enough DMA channels). Problem is with about 30 % received frames by HAL_UART_Receive_IT() . With DMA receiving has no problem. While receiving bytes sometimes occurs faults. I am receiving one byte by one. For example USART settings: Baud Rate: 115200 Word Length: 8 Bits Parity: NoneStop Bits: 1Data Direction: Receive and TransmitOver Sampling: 16 Samples Single Sample: DisablePolarity: HighAssertion Time: 0 Sample Time UnitDeassertion Time: 0 Sample Time Unit...Overrun: EnableDMA on RX Error: EnableMSB First: Disable------------------------------ CLOCK -----------------------------RCC: HSE - Crystal/Ceramic Resonator          LSE - DisableWhen Baud Rate is set to 9600 everything is ok, there are no faults.

Posted on June 30, 2017 at 09:52Hello,First I am new in ST device, I only used Microchip PIC for 6 years.So any advise or comment will be appreciated.I am trying to use I2C interface on NucleoBoard F091RC1.I2C_HandleTypeDef* hi2c1;void i2cInit(I2C_HandleTypeDef* i2cHandler){      // Assigned I2C handler pointer         hi2c1 = i2cHandler;    // Call I2C init function        MX_I2C1_Init();}void MX_I2C1_Init(void){hi2c1->Instance = I2C1;      hi2c1->Init.Timing = 0x2000090E;       hi2c1->Init.OwnAddress1 = 0;       hi2c1->Init.AddressingMode = I2C_ADDRESSINGMODE_7BIT;       hi2c1->Init.DualAddressMode = I2C_DUALADDRESS_DISABLE;       hi2c1->Init.OwnAddress2 = 0;       hi2c1

Posted on June 28, 2017 at 14:06The STM32F303C6 has COMP peripherals COMP2, COMP4 & COMP6.Each of these comparators have a positive (INP) and negative (INM) input pin and an output (OUT) pin.Furthermore the data sheet specifies for each comparator a pin named INM4.I am wondering what these INM4 pins are for. Can somebody please tell me?Thank you in advance,Gahlen.#stm32f303c6 #comp

Posted on January 20, 2017 at 12:31 I have a very typical application here - long periods of minimal current consumption (15 minutes to 24 hours sleep duration) with short periods of activity in between. In my particular case, this is mostly ADC and GPIO manipulation (which explains some of the extra initialisation in my code which is unused) but for this example, I am just trying to achieve the following: Turn LED onDelay 1000ms (using HAL delay - don't care about efficiency here)Turn LED offEnter Stop modeHave RTC Wakeup Timer return me to Step 1. after 5 seconds So far this works well for the first loop through - I see the LED turn on, turn off after 1000ms, stay off for 5 seconds (current draw drops to approx. 2uA) and then turn on again. However, the LED never turns off again. I can't use SWD to debug this as the board seems to never enter Stop mode with SWD debugging active. My code (partially generated by STM32CubeMX and partially from reading docs) is as below: #include 'm

Posted on June 30, 2017 at 20:20I have a design where another micro is connected to the STM32F031 UART pins and I am attempting to enter the rom bootloader.  I referenced AN3155 for details on how the bootloader works, however, there is no definition I could find for the serial connection besides 8-E-1 and baud rate.  Are the signal levels high true, low true, idle high, idle low etc, or will it detect the levels I am using and responded accordingly?

Posted on June 23, 2017 at 15:24Hey guys,i just created a project for the STM32L4 Discovery Board with CubeMX (I'm using Atollic TrueStudio). I assume that CubeMX always generates the same structure, namely the folders 'Drivers', 'Inc', 'Src', 'startup' and 'Middlewares'. Is this assumption correct or is this structure only generated when using CubeMX with Atollic TrueStudio (e.g. I could have used Eclipse + OpenSTM32 instead)?Now, where can I place my own source code and header files? Do I have to use the folders 'Src' and 'Inc'? I would prefer using my own structure, because I only want to port an already existing software to STM32.Thanks in advance! #atollic #cube #hal #cubemx #truestudio #source-file #header-file #mx #own

Posted on June 30, 2017 at 15:12I'm currently working on a driver on an STM32F0 that joins the I2C bus as a slave device. Currently there is no mention in the reference manual on how to handle a Repeated Start Condition, does anyone know how to?I am currently handling the I2C request in the AddressCallback and am able to make it work when all the frames are terminated by a Stop Condition but when I try to detect a Repeated Start using the NACK flag(From RM: The bit is set by software, cleared by hardware when the NACK is sent, or when a STOP condition or an Address Matched is received, or when PE=0.), the ADDR flag of the I2C is never set meaning the ISR is never called again. Clock stretching is also enabled. #f0 #stm32f0 #stm32 #i2c

Posted on June 22, 2017 at 18:21Hi,I have X-NUCLEO-IKS01A1 having 4 MEM sensors ,I have seen that this board is compatible with arduino UNO,I have connected the board same as like the ST nucleio board,but I couldn't find the sensors giving output with arduino UNO code . I have also connected the board with Intel edison,but I couldn't detect the addresses of the sensors.Can you please let me know the hardware connection of X-NUCLEO-IKS01A1 with arduino UNO .I'm providing 5V as input (Vin) and added pullup resisters too.Thanks and Regards,Radhika

Posted on June 29, 2017 at 11:40I use SPC5604B54L5 DSPI module, LTC6804 (Battery voltage acquisition chip) and the microcontroller through the SPI communication, the mode is CPOL = 1, CPHA = 1, but the communication is error.Before I used STM32 and LTC6804 to communicate, it was successful.So I connected a logic analyzer: I found that each time the SPC5604 sends a byte, MOSI will pull high .    in other words, when the SPI is in the idle state, MOSI is high by default.What can I do to make MOSI in the default state is low?I am very very  puzzled why the logic analyzer can analyze the data sent by the SPC5604, but the LTC6804 does not have any data to return. This indicates that the SPC5604 rules for sending data are compliant with the SPI rules. Please note that STM32 and 6804 can communicate normally i am  using SPI0PA13-------MOSIPA15-------CS（soft ware control）PA12-------MISOPA14-------SCK I received all the data are 0

Posted on June 28, 2017 at 17:20Hello,We're trying to migrate a board from the SPWF01SC to the SPWF04SC. Two of the additions to the SPWF04 are the LSE and HSE external clock pins. They're not displayed on the block diagram for the SPWF04 in its datasheet so does it use the STM32F429's internal RC oscillator by default or do we need to add oscillators to our board as per the X-NUCLEO-IDW04A1 evaluation board?Thanks,Steve

Posted on June 27, 2017 at 15:02Hi.I'm trying to use DMA to  drive PWM output for led effects. Posted on June 26, 2017 at 15:39Hi,STM32F446 user here. I'm routing RTC alarm output to PC13 and after an alarm I need to clear the output pin back to low state. I recall myself reading something about clearing RTC alarm output in a specific way but I can't find the source anymore.#rtc #pc13 #alarm

Posted on June 26, 2017 at 16:03Hey,I have a problem with the I2C1 on the STM32F746G-Discovery.I'm using the example-code for communication with DMA, but I changed the address mode from 10bit to 7bit.Now it's getting strange. The ST-Board is the master and a TCA6424A port expander is the slave. According to the datasheet the device address is 010 0010b (=22h; my ADDR pin is connected to GND).But if I use the function HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit_DMA() and watch the output with an oszilloscope, the device address changed from 22h to 11h (010 0010b -> 001 0001b). I don't know why, but the library adds an extra zero in front of the device address. I can workaround it, if I use 44h as an address (100 0100b). With 44h the output is 22h.Did I miss something or is there a bug in the code? How can I disable the additional zero in front of the device address?Kind regardsNyix

Posted on June 26, 2017 at 08:34Hello, I am developing an entertainment firmware for a custom board that mounts an STM32F469 microcontroller. This has 2Megs of FLASH and I would like to do something 'unusual' with the memory use. My idea comes from the old retro video games consoles. Many of them had an embedded firmware ROM inside, that was available for user programs in ROM cartridges or programs written with an embedded BASIC interpreter.I was wondering if it is possible to simulate a similar situation in the internal FLASH of the MCU I am using. Currently, I am using ATOLLIC TrueStudio. Let's look at, for example, a FLASH memory range of this type:FLASH memory space +---------------------------------------------------------+------------------------+---------+| User program                                &nbsp

Posted on June 26, 2017 at 15:25This is my first experience with USB as virtual keyboard.I have configured in CubeMX a Human Interface Device (HID). After that, to have someting written in my notepad I have written the following function:      uint8_t USB_TX_Buffer[8];      USB_TX_Buffer[0]= 'H';      USB_TX_Buffer[1]= 'e';      USB_TX_Buffer[2]= 'l';      USB_TX_Buffer[3]= 'l';      USB_TX_Buffer[4]= 'o';      USB_TX_Buffer[5]= '\0';      USBD_HID_SendReport(hUsbDeviceFS, USB_TX_Buffer, 6);      HAL_Delay(1000);But I obtain only the movement of the mouse! Can someone suggest me the right way?

Posted on June 25, 2017 at 14:00I am designing a PCB which uses the STM32F446 MCU. I have the first revision done and working. But I am wondering if all the pull-up and -down resistors on the board can be excluded and use the internals instead?The board has the following components connected with pull up/down:->Micro SD card in SPI mode->User button->UART connection with other boardWhen should you use external resistors and when can you rely on the internals?Thank you for any thoughts on the topic.#pull-up #pull-down #pcb-guidelines #pull-up-resistor
