Hello I am brand new to STM32F0xx chip set. I have on board HTS221 and need to read temperature and humidity over 3 wire SPI interface. Can anybody point me in the right direction. Maybe there is an example code on how to setup SPI1 for half duplex so I can read and write to HTS221 registers correctly. I tried implementing the SPI on my own but have some strange timing issues. please see attached image and the source code

I Previously used V4.0.0 (At least I think so) but sometime ago upgraded to V4.2.0. Now every second time I read a .hex from disk it crashes (having programmed the chip between file openings). The .hex is for a stm32H7 (doesn´t know if it makes a difference). I´m using Windows 7 64 bits. How can I report this back to ST?

Posted on September 14, 2017 at 06:22Greetings People,Is it necessary to connect VDDA in STM32F030R8 ? I am not using ADC in my application. Any suggestions would be of great help.#analog-supply #external-power

EPENA bit for IN endpoint 0 (OTG_FS_DIEPCTL0 register) is marked as read-only both in the reference manual and in the SVD files for F429.I believe that is a mistake, as the EPENA bit is used to start transmission on the endpoint and both libopencm3 and STM32 LL drivers ignore the fact that the bit is marked as read-only.HAL_StatusTypeDef USB_EP0StartXfer(USB_OTG_GlobalTypeDef *USBx , USB_OTG_EPTypeDef *ep, uint8_t dma) { // other code   USBx_INEP(ep->num)->DIEPCTL |= (USB_OTG_DIEPCTL_CNAK | USB_OTG_DIEPCTL_EPENA); // other code }It's possible that the DIEPCTL0 EPENA bit was confused with the DOEPCTL0 EPENA bit, which is marked as write-only, even though it should probably be read-only.Would someone clarify this for me?

I am working with the STM32F4 and STM32F7 microcontroller families. I am sure that I, at some point, have seen a drawing that shows how the different clocks are routed to different peripherals. This drawing was very helpful when I had questions like "what clock is UART2 running from?", "what clock is the CAN1 running from?", etc. However, now I'm unable to find the drawing, I have looked in the reference manuals and the data sheets, but to no avail. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Posted on January 07, 2018 at 03:06Hi, I just got the EVAL-IDB007V1M with the spbtle-1s (based on bluenrg-1 and installed the STSW-BLUENRG1-DK (v2.5.0) on my Windows PC. The BlueNRG-1 Navigator recognizes the EVAL-IDB007V1M and I can 'Flash & Run' the basic examples and the BLE demonstration and test applications. They seem to run on the EVAL-IDB007V1M - at least they to something when I press the buttons but I get strange results. First, when I 'Flash & Run' the BlueNRG-1 Hello World from the basic examples I get this output: With another terminal program it looks like this:I expected Hello World... What's wrong?Second problem (and more severe in my case): When I flash and run the BLE demonstration and test applications I would expect to be able to establish a connection to the EVAL-IDB007V1M from my Android smartphone. I tried to use the Apps STM32 BLE Profiles, BlueNRG and (sorry for that) nRF Connect. But I couldn't get any connection to the  EVAL-IDB007V1M. I tried s

Hello I am trying to read the Quadrature optical encoder using TIM2 with STM32F103. I've done the Timer settings. But the TIM2->CNT Always zero. I measured the Timer channels with the oscilloscope. The encoder signals reach TIM_CH1 and TIM_CH2.(PA0, PA1)This is my init codevoid ENCODER_TIM_Init(void){ TIM_Encoder_InitTypeDef TIM_Encoder_Init; GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct; __HAL_RCC_TIM2_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOA_CLK_ENABLE(); /**TIM2 GPIO Configuration PA0-WKUP ------> TIM2_CH1 PA1 ------> TIM2_CH2 */ GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_0|GPIO_PIN_1; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL; HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStruct);   TIM_Handle.Instance = TIM2; TIM_Handle.Init.Prescaler = 0; TIM_Handle.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; TIM_Handle.Init.Period = 0; TIM_Handle.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; TIM_Encoder_Init.EncoderMode = TIM_ENCODERMODE_TI12; TIM_Encoder_Init.IC1Polarity =

I would like to know whether the general purpose timers Timer 1,8,2,3,4,5 in the STM32 F7 series can be configured in encoder mode?I am doing a comparison between F7 and H7 series Microcontrollers. I need to count my motor rotations through timers in encoder mode instead of interrupt the CPU for each rotation. I came across in the datasheets that for H7,there are 5 low power timers which support encoder mode and in F7 series there is 1 low power timer which supports encoder mode. Hence I would like to whether the general purpose timers in F7 series supports the encoder.

How to setup STUSB4500 to deliver 15V 2.5A without programming ?If programming needed, how it can done?Where should I get the evaluation board for the same?Can I power STUSB4500 using the charging port without connecting to battery(Powered from Source- IC should power on by taking power from source power- 5V)Pls help me to design this

Posted on July 03, 2018 at 17:56Hi all:    STM32Cube_FW_H7_V1.2.0 ethernet sample is using DHCP, I want use static IP address. So I change the DHCP definition to 0 in lwipopts.h.&sharpdefine LWIP_DHCP               0    After comple the code and download to board, but I can not ping to board. What is wrong?    Thanks.#stm32h7-ethernet #stm32h

Edit: I solved the problem, it was my own fault! The Operation Control Register's bit 7 was set to 0 when it should have been set to 0. Thanks!--------------------------------------------------------------Hello all,I am working with the ST25R3911B discovery board (ST25R3911B-DISCO) and am attempting to directly interface the ST25R3911B IC with an Atmel microcontroller (in this case, and Arduino Uno).Over SPI, I can read and write the registers of the ST25R3911B with no issues, I can even send direct commands. The ST25R3911B reacts/responds to my actions as I would expect it to.The issue I have ran into is that I am simply unable to read or write to the FIFO. This is confusing because, in principle, it is a very similar operation to reading/writing the register. The only difference to the microcontroller is that the Mode Bits and 'trailer' it transmits are different. Refer to page 33 of the ST25R3911B to take a look at that detail.After trying to write to the FIFO, the 'FIFO Status Regi

Hello,We need to use RS-485 in full duplex, and with the flow control (DE).Is it that when we configure DE with RS485 is shall be used as half duplex ?can I configure rs232 pins with RTS (instead of DE) before converting voltage to rs-485 levels ?Will this create a full duplex connection ? (CTS shall always be active in order to provide full duplex connection)Thank you,ran

I'm using STM32CubeMX (5.0.0) and Atollic TrueSTUDIO (9.2.0) to implement I2C slave functionality on an STM32F3 series microcontroller. I am able to get the DMA to work accepting bytes from an I2C write command, but can't seem to get the DMA to provide the data for an I2C read command.I don't see any examples where DMA is used by the slave to provide transmit data. Is this possible, or is the I2C TX DMA only for master mode?Thanks.

Posted on April 06, 2018 at 16:43 Hai, Iam using the STM32H743VIT controller , We are using the spi4 in our board ,we generated the code using the cube mx nothing is coming(CLK and SIN)when transmit the data using the function ( HAL_SPI_Transmit(SPI_HandleTypeDef *hspi, uint8_t *pData, uint16_t Size, uint32_t Timeout)). we configured the SPI to the 8 bit mode.But with the same configuration the SPI2 is working fine. Thank you Best regards Maheshwar. #uphill-skiing #stm32h7-spi-sync #stm32h7 #spi Note: this post was migrated and contained many threaded conversations, some content may be missing.

I build the TouchGFX demo in the F32746G-Discovery sample project but the graphics aren't displaying properly.  The touchscreen is working 'cause I can switch screens and sometimes by luck get to a screen that is displaying text (e.g. About TouchGFX) but the rest of the graphics on the screen are just patterns of short horizontal lines, which somewhat represent perhaps a sine wave - don't really know.  Built the program using Atollic 9.2 and loaded with the STM32Cube Programmer (couldn't get ST-LINK to work- no way, no how - gave up in favor of the Cube Programmer and it worked for me right away.  However, need some guidance regarding the graphics display.

ADC channel selection is generated like this:LL_ADC_REG_SetSequencerChannels(ADC1, LL_ADC_CHANNEL_0);LL_ADC_REG_SetSequencerChannels(ADC1, LL_ADC_CHANNEL_1);LL_ADC_REG_SetSequencerChannels(ADC1, LL_ADC_CHANNEL_TEMPSENSOR);and it is incorrect: there must be a call of LL_ADC_REG_SetSequencerChAdd();

I use STM32cubeMX tool, generate interrupt function, compile and program successful in Keil V5. But this function doesn't work. How to solve the question?

I have been doing a lot of reading lately about the flashing process and bootloaders and not everything is clear.The datasheet of my microcontroller says that it is stlink that enables mbed. I have confirmed that I have to upload via stlink in order for mbed to work. I uploaded an mbed program using stm32flash via uart and it didn't work. My question is why? Why does the way in which I upload firmware affect how it runs? Is there a workaround (a way to use mbed while uploading with stm32flash and uart)?My next question has to do with the stlink firmware. As I understand it, the nucleo boards have the main microcontroller and an stm32f103cbt6 or similar for stlink. If I create a pcb and want mbed support, will I need to add this ic also? Will I need to flash stlink firmware onto it instead of the factory bootloader? Would this be doable for someone who has made pcbs in the past but is still not an expert?Edit:Looks like I had an error in my code and that's why flashing over uart didn't

Posted on May 15, 2017 at 20:07I'd like to ask if there will be any support for STM32L432 for the flash loader demonstrator. So far with the GUI version this device is not supported. I've tried to create STmap file from the STM32L4 just by editting the PID, but for GUI version the device is still not recognized and for the command line version it just recognize the device, but the erasing does not work and with option 'skip 0xFF' is this tool making windows exception and crashes. I'm using the latest version 2.8.0.#stm32l432-flash-loader-demonstrator

Posted on August 11, 2017 at 15:07Hello Community,I have configured a STM32F429ZIT to communicate through SPI (SPI6) as slave and using DMA, see attached file.The transmission works very well during 1 - 5 min but suddenly some transmission errors ocurs and HAL_SPI_ErrorCallback is called./***********************************************************************/void HAL_SPI_ErrorCallback(SPI_HandleTypeDef *hspi) {     if(hspi -> Instance == SPI6)     {         HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOF, GPIO_PIN_1, GPIO_PIN_SET);         memcpy((uint8_t*)HMI_slave_TX_data, (uint8_t*)HMI_slave_TX_working_buffer, 8);         HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA(&hspi6, (uint8_t*)HMI_slave_TX_data, (uint8_t*)HMI_slave_RX_data, 8); //--- initiate HMI communication     } }/********************************************************************/Then the communications
