I need a unique ID and expected to use the 96 bit one from the chip. Then I read that STM32F070x6/B do not have it. Very disappointing, but I looked at the F0 location 0x1ffff7ac and sure enough there is something that looks exactly like a described ID with the proper X and Y coordinates, etc. The chips I tested are all STM32F070CBT6. Very confusing. Is it possible that some do have it and others don't?

I would like to understand what the Eclipse IDE is doing to start the debugger, so that I can move away from using it. I much prefer CMake and other tools. I'd be grateful for any assistance. The wiki section for this is TBD.I'm not too familiar with OpenOCD, but have run the command: $OECORE_NATIVE_SYSROOT/usr/bin/openocd -s $OECORE_NATIVE_SYSROOT/usr/share/scripts -f board/stm32mp15x_dk2.cfgThis seems to work so, moving on to GDB: $OECORE_NATIVE_SYSROOT/usr/bin/arm-openstlinux_weston-linux-gnueabi/arm-openstlinux_weston-linux-gnueabi-gdb firmware.elfAnd this is where I come unstuck. I've used GDB a bit, but don't know the magic incantations to install an image into the M4 on this platform.(gdb) target remote localhost:3333Remote debugging using localhost:33330x00000000 in g_pfnVectors ()I get a "target not yet examined" error which I don't understand. The vector table is all zeroes, so nothing has yet been placed in the RAM yet. (gdb) loadLoading section .isr_vector, size 0x298

Hi,As i was testing the limit of how many virtual uarts i can create, i found that the limit is actually 4:Using debug tracing i can see that the channels get created inside the code (here i am creating 5 virtual uart) but only 4 ttyRPMSG are created.I reduced the total buffer used by each channel to 256 instead of 512:// File: rpmsg_virtio.h   /* Configurable parameters */ #ifndef RPMSG_BUFFER_SIZE #define RPMSG_BUFFER_SIZE (256) #endifSo in theory, i should be able to create 8 channels but the max is 4 apparently.Can someone please confirm how they made it?Thanks

I recently came across defects in STM32G0 & STM32G4 reference material. I tried reporting this through the support channel only to receive kneejerk deflections. Since i have already worked around the issues myself I'm not seeking any help or support but rather wanted to help improve the overall platform experience for others. The responses I got from are disappointing and reflects poorly on the company culture and the support team's attitude toward quality control.

The "MX_RTC_Init" function called by default from the main.c resets the RTC's date and time to zero values (by default) or to some other predefined constant values.The standard practice is to set a bit in one of the backup registers after setting the date and time and to check the existence of the bit after enabling the backup domain and RTC - if the bit is set then don't touch the date and time.There are no user code sections in MX_RTC_Init to try and change its logic, so what is the recommended way of implementing "don't change the date and time if it is already set" in a Cube generated LL project with RTC enabled?Thank you.

I'm using the X-NUCLEO NFC03A1 board with the NUCLEO L476RG board. I'm testing the STM32L4xx-ST25R95-Polling software example to exchange datas between my PC and a NFC tag ( an ISO 15693 ICODE SLIX). my tag is a icode slix iso15693 so I use the demoPollNfcV part of the program. When i'm reading and writing on my tag, previous data are overwriting in the rxBuffer by new data. I would like to use wrData as an array of character and write characters after characters and write in the rxBuffer following without delete previous data.

Hi,I tried downloading STM32CubeIDE version 1.0.2 several times using either a different computer or try using a different browser and always failed.At the same time, I have no problem downloading other software, such as Windows update, Avast update, Java Runtime update etc.Does any one have a mirror of the STM32CubeIDE version 1.0.2?Thank you.

I am working with the STM32F7. I am implementing a DMA communications handler, preferably using the HAL (but LL is also an option that I have tried). I have successfully implemented the TX side of the equation but, am unable to get the RX portion to put data into the buffer. Below I have detailed the HW configuration and provided the HAL based code to match. I can also provide the LL based code should anyone want to see that. Can someone help me to see the error of my ways?I am hoping to use the idle line detection to allow variable packet size, but cannot get the RX to work even with a fixed packet size.I have used the following references: Example code for Idle Line with f4: https://github.com/MaJerle/STM32_USART_DMA_RX DMA Controller Guide: https://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/application_note/27/46/7c/ea/2d/91/40/a9/DM00046011.pdf/files/DM00046011.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00046011.pdf Ref Manual: https://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/docum

Hi,I am using the STM32MP157C-DK2 and so far i manged to make FREERTOS work flawlessly with OpenAMP and the tracing printf functions. I can insert breakpoint at any point without a problem. However, i start having issues when i declare a semaphore or a mutex in the function MX_FREERTOS_Init().Here is my main.c file:/** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** */ /* Includes ------------------------------------------------------------------*/ #include "main.h" #include "cmsis_os.h" #include "ipcc.h" #include "openamp.h" #include "gpio.h"   /* Private includes ----------------------------------------------------------*/ /* USER CODE BEGIN Includes */ #include "stm32mp15xx_disco.h" #include "log.h"   /* Private function prototypes -----------------------------------------------*/ void SystemClock_Config(void); voi

Hi,I have an application that has one main controller that will talk to four (4) battery packs via CAN.Ie 5 devices on the CAN network.I would like ALL devices to also have USB connectivity for uploading of firmware and diagnostics.Now for the crunch - I want the battery pack STM32's to power down to a very low level ie uA's and will be awoken by an externally pulsed pin. This will give longer battery capacity whilst on standby. The four battery packs only have a few external pins available (one for the above awaken pulse signal) and two for comms use. Is it possible to join the CAN bus signals and the USB signals onto the same two wires??? Obviously only one can be enabled at a time. Basically, STM32 awakens and looks for activity on the USB side, if no activity after 500mS then it turns OFF the USB outputs and enables the CAN outputs.Thanks,Neil.

Hi I use a stm32f446 to run 2 BLDC motors (same motor, same configuration). One of the motors runs perfectly but the other one don't succeed to reach the speed reference. When I enter 1000 rpm it runs until around 200-300 rpm only and it makes a lot of noise but no fault is detected whereas the first one is really quiet and starts smoothly.I tried to use the hall sensor conditionning part of the first motor with the second one on my board and it worked perfectly. So now I know that the problem is caused by the hall sensor conditionning.But the mystery is that the conditionning part is the same for both motors...Did somebody know what's going on ?Best Regards

I'm after a low power STM32 with DAC outputs.ST Application note AN4566 states in table 1 on the first page that there are processors in all the STM32 ranges that have a 12 bit DAC. The MCU selector also doesn't make the DAC box selectable or deselectable which again implies they are commonplace.But when I open random datasheets for the lower cost models I find very few that actually have the 12 bit DAC, the smallest so far being an STM32F103 with 256k Flash.Is there a list somewhere of which MCUs actually have DACs ?

Hi guys,I'm using for first time LSm303agr sensor and I have a question about low-consumption of the sensor.Reading the Electrical characteristic I see that the sensor can achieve a low consumption of 2uA but I don't know what registers can do it.I use CTRL_REG1_A to put the accelerometer in "Power-down mode" and CFG_REG_A_M to put the magnetometer in "low-power mode", but I can't achieve 2uA.Can you help me?Best regards,Manuel

I have a problem interfacing with L3G4200 using I2C on STM32F469 Discovery. Here is my code to config the I2Cvoid I2CConfig(void){ I2CHandle1.Instance = I2Cx; I2CHandle1.Init.AddressingMode = I2C_ADDRESSINGMODE_7BIT; I2CHandle1.Init.ClockSpeed = 100000; I2CHandle1.Init.DutyCycle = I2C_DUTYCYCLE_2; I2CHandle1.Init.DualAddressMode = I2C_DUALADDRESS_DISABLE; I2CHandle1.Init.OwnAddress1 = 0xD0; I2CHandle1.Init.NoStretchMode = I2C_NOSTRETCH_DISABLE; I2CHandle1.Init.GeneralCallMode = I2C_GENERALCALL_DISABLE; if (HAL_I2C_Init(&I2CHandle1) != HAL_OK) Error_Handler(); }And here is the code to initialize the I2C on HAL_Init file void HAL_I2C_MspInit(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c){ GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct;   /*##-1- Enable peripherals and GPIO Clocks #################################*/ /* Enable GPIO TX/RX clock */ I2Cx_SCL_GPIO_CLK_ENABLE(); I2Cx_SDA_GPIO_CLK_ENABLE(); /* Enable I2Cx clock */ I2Cx_CLK_ENABLE();   /*##-2- Configure peripheral GPIO #############

The other info I struggle is on page 12 in the datasheet:CVDD higher than recommend values is allowed but external protection nets on VDD could be necessary for high VCC slew rate (>15 V/μs). In fact, we would like to use a bigger blocking capacitor like 1 uF on the CVDD. Current is limited internally to 20mA anyway, right? So why not using 1 uF then?NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. We regularly review support cases and add any helpful ones here for all to benefit from.

Hi,I'm trying to implement the streaming of two MEMS microphones via I2S.Following some examples provided by ST, I was able to implement the acquisition of the two microphones: I obtain a 32 samples buffer PCM every 1 ms (left and right channel).Now I'm trying to send these samples through I2S (16 Bits Data on 16 Bits Frame, 16 KHz) using DMA in circular mode. So, I can fill the buffer while the transmission goes on.I've created a 128-elements buffer. Every 1 ms I put in the buffer 32 elements. When the buffer contains 64 elements, I launch the transfer using "HAL_I2S_Transmit_DMA".The problem is that probably the DMA transfer goes slowly compared to the 1 ms filling routine, so what I obtain is that the sound isn't clear.How can I sync these two operations?

With STM32G4 the use of counters to decode signals from quadrature encoders has been significantly improved. Furthermore we can use the comparators to detect the counting front and save external pins avoiding to make the signal come out from the comparator to let it enter the timer input connected to TI1 (for example).Unfortunately in the settings of STM32CubeIDE (and STM32CubeMX) when the "Encoder Mode" is selected in the timer, there is no possibility to change the source of the signals sent to "tim_ti1fp1" and "tim_ti2fp2", and two hardware pins are automatically enabled in the GPIO:In reality, using the "TIMx_TISEL" register, it is possible to select the source for the TIx signal and send the counting signal internally from the comparator (for example). All this is a beautiful thing because it avoids the external passage of the signal and the useless waste of pins.The question is: why in the "IC Selection" line is set to "Direct"and it is not possible to select also the other remap

I'd like to ask how the STM32F429 recognizes data reception in case of SPI while there is no any start bit? I know that there is RXNE bit in SPI_SR status register, but how SPI knows where is the first bit of the transmitted byte? Is it somehow synchronized with SPI data transmission? I mean the first transmitted bit is some kind of trigger for recognizing first received bit (using of course CLK)?

I am encountering a consistent hard fault (CFSR.IMPRECISERR with HFSR.FORCED bit set) on my program with FreeRTOS v10. I can fully reproduce the fault everytime and same conditions so I'm sure this can be fixed. Just need to know what causes it.Specifically on HAL_SPI_TRANSMIT_DMA (stm32f3xx_hal_spi.c line 1571). if ((hspi->Init.DataSize <= SPI_DATASIZE_8BIT) && (hspi->hdmatx->Init.MemDataAlignment == DMA_MDATAALIGN_HALFWORD))On reading some other articles, It seems like the stack frame is not related to the cause of stack frame since the write was buffered. Then from the documentation for ARM Cortex M4, there's the Auxiliary Control Register with the DISDEFWBUF when set to 1, will diable the write buffering and turn imprecise faults to precise faults. But I can't find the register on my device. Question is, how can I find the cause of the fault without being able to disable the write buffering? Or does anybody have any idea what the problem is?

Is there a document outlining how to power and test the crystal oscillator from ST? STM32F405

Hi, there, I am not sure this is the right place to ask if it's concerning IDE.Just got my new STM32H747 Discovery kit, running CubeMX examples,All running well, except for debugging:(I am using MDK Keil (V5.27 / V5.28) and on-board STLink V3)I found that while debugging, if the data memory is outside DTCM (0x20000000~0x2001FFFF), Keil's watch window and memory window just don't update as program executes.That is, I can still see the data variable address in the watch window but the data just don't update as the code execues. So far I've seen that if data are in AXI SRAM or SRAM4, the data just don't update. I am not sure if this is ST-Link setting problems or Keil IDE problem.I would like to know if anyone faces the same issues, if so , is there any solution?!Thanks for reading this post, :) Zt.

Hi,Some new nucleo STM32G4 boards have simplified version of the st-link v3 (no bridging feature implemented, at leat at the connector level, I guess).Is there any benefit from having 3e st-link version vs regular 2-1 one?
