I want to start with TouchGFX, but I see too much people in this forum struggling to do a basic project for a development boards from ST. I imagine how hard it should be a custom board.Has ST plans to release a basic step by step tutorial showing how to do a basic project for the STM32F746G Discovery board?

I am using the STM32MP157C-DK2For testing purpose I need to build and replace the BSP and in particular the bootloader.The documentation is a bit messy and I'm not able to find the information I need.I need to rebuild and replace TF-A and u-boot.I read so far:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/TF-A_overviewhttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Starter_Package_-_imageshttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32CubeProgrammer_flashlayoutWhere I can find all the sources and documentation explaining how to rebuild TF-A (Trusted Firmware-A)?Thank you.

Hi All,We have problem reading register values from L9945. We use STM32G474RE to communicate with it and the project was made using current STM32CubeMX and its FreeRTOS.Here are the SPI parameters in main.c: hspi2.Instance = SPI2; hspi2.Init.Mode = SPI_MODE_MASTER; hspi2.Init.Direction = SPI_DIRECTION_2LINES; hspi2.Init.DataSize = SPI_DATASIZE_8BIT; hspi2.Init.CLKPolarity = SPI_POLARITY_LOW; hspi2.Init.CLKPhase = SPI_PHASE_2EDGE; hspi2.Init.NSS = SPI_NSS_SOFT; hspi2.Init.BaudRatePrescaler = SPI_BAUDRATEPRESCALER_64; hspi2.Init.FirstBit = SPI_FIRSTBIT_MSB; hspi2.Init.TIMode = SPI_TIMODE_DISABLE; hspi2.Init.CRCCalculation = SPI_CRCCALCULATION_DISABLE; hspi2.Init.CRCPolynomial = 7; hspi2.Init.CRCLength = SPI_CRC_LENGTH_DATASIZE; hspi2.Init.NSSPMode = SPI_NSS_PULSE_DISABLE;Here is the code using a HAL call to send and receive the register values, including temporary logging to produce raw sent/received output:std::optional<uint32_t> nowtech::L9945::read(uint32_t const aC

The HAL_NOR_ProgramBuffer() function in stm32h7xx_hal_nor.c has a few defects. It's untested code because it couldn't possibly work as it is. I'm not complaining about the defects. What bothers me is I can't find a way to register the defects with ST. If anyone knows of one, please let me know where I can access it.A register/database would give some hope the defect will be fixed in the future. A register would save us so much time debugging the code ST. Instead of every developer debugging the same defect over and over they can simply check the register. Trawling through forums just doesn't cut it.CheersDavid

I expect at least 22937 samples until the array is full. My guess now is, that my index counter "number_of_samples" rises faster than that the actual samples that are written into the array. After the index counter reaches the theoretical max value of samples the array would be written on the SD card. But before that the array is not full. Only around 3780 samples are written of the max. available 22937 samples.I can' t get my head around why me code isn't working. Hi, I've made a code that sends the same CAN message but different IDs, I'm using a USB - to - CAN logger to see the communication between these three CANS (1,2,3). I'm running into a problem where the code compiles fine, builds fine, and debugs successfully into the Nucleo board but doesn't transmits/receives any messages through CAN 2 & 3. CAN 1 works fine and receives (works because there's an RX interrupt as well -> LED Blinks) . These are the measures I've taken in trying to figure out what's happening:-Re-initialized the CANS through the CUBE interface software-Disconnected each CANL & CANH pin in figuring out one by one which ones were working-CANS are all the same parameters and matched accordingly to reference, CAN1 works, so I'm just puzzled as to why CAN2,3 are not?? Note: CAN2 is a slave, CAN3 is a masterGiven:-Can bus (120 Ohms terminating bus)-GND-Power to each 3x Transciever -Pins connected accordingly to Tx/Rx of the IC transciever-CANL/CANHs are connected fi

Hi,Does anyone here know when will the STM32WLEx series be available to general public? I see that it is available to OEMs with MOQ of 10k. I would need maybe 1-3k pieces,Thanks!

Hi,I'm having a very strange issue loading bytes from an SD card into an array in RAM, on a STM32F722RE.In general, it works nicely, but I have several files where the transfer skips some bytes, leaving zeroes in the destination array.In debug, I have found the following clues:1. I'm calling f_read:if (f_read(file, raw_bytes_buffer.data() + write_offset_in_bytes, bytes_to_read, &bytesread) != FR_OK) return;2. In f_read, the array is correctly filled up until the index 473.3. At index 474, the FIL->fptr is exactly 512. This triggers a particular branch in f_read:// ff.c if (fp->fptr % SS(fs) == 0) { /* On the sector boundary? */This particular branch seems to be the culprit in all cases of this "missing bytes" bug.4. A function pointer is used to read the disk:// ff.c if (disk_read(fs->pdrv, rbuff, sect, cc) != RES_OK) ABORT(fs, FR_DISK_ERR);5. disk_read points to the following function// bsp_driver_sd.cpp uint8_t BSP_SD_ReadBlocks_DMA(uint32_t *pData, uint32_t ReadAddr, ui

This seems very confusing. In the manual the pin is marked ANA which it annotates as Analog-only input, and yet it has a bunch of special functions that are digital in nature (e.g. SPI_MISO, FMC_SDNE0) and both input and output. CubeMX allows me to set the pin as a digital input or output and on my test systems (3) it works as expected as a digital input and output when configured. However, I have one user who reports the pin isn't working as a digital I/O. Can someone explain. Is CubeMX wrong to allow me to set the pin as a digital output?

Hello forum, my goal is to emulate a DC motor family with some electronics and an STM32F446RE.The current setup is, an ECU to control 6 of these motors, 6 coils of the motor family as load, 6 current sensors, running in the STM32, and from there i need 6 frequency modulations back to the ECU. The frequency goes from 5or1Hz up to 5or10kHz.The STM will do current measurement conversion from cur. to freq. and some state machine for testing different behaviers/errors that these motors have. And later on some communication with the PC for better testing.My first approach will be a 100kHz timer decrementing a counter variable for a defined high and low time. Lets say count from 10 to 6 with GPIO high and from 5 to 1 with GPIO low. If counter reaches 0 get new high and low times calculated in the main loop.So my question are: Can i get this leaner? Especially for the processor. I allready use the DMA for ADC conversion so maybe its good for the GPIO as well?Is a 100kHz time interrupt ok/feasi

I have tried installing and running projects using the USB_Device/CDC_Standalone project for both the STM32L476G-EVAL and the STM32F779I-EVAL boards, but every time I connect the board using the USB FS port, I get a driver error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"After uninstalling and installing the VCP drivers multiple times (using STLinkUSBDriver.dll v4.4.0.0 and Virtual COM Port driver 1.3.1.0 from VCP_V1.5.0_Setup_W7_x64_64bits.exe) , it never works. I've searched through the ST forums but have had no luck finding any documentation for this issue.After a little more research, I found the stm32l4xx_ll_usb.c driver is hard faulting in USB_WritePacket.The hard fault is occurring during the write of 0x200001BE USBD_StringSerial. See attached image:I also changed the heap size according to the information in the FAQ https://community.st.com/s/article/FAQ-USB-device-not-recognizedThis had no effect on the hard fault.

RM0316 says it's TIM5:but there's no TIM5 in the 'F3 (except 'F373, to which RM0316 does not apply).ST please clarify.JWPS. Textual search finds TIM5 also in description of the TIMx_CCRx registers, obviously copy-paste relics.

Hello I cannot see an option to enable advance graphics in STM32CubeMX in order to use TouchGFX. (In order to see graphics windown in middleware.) In the new update log it was written that they no longer support TouchGFX and Stemwin. Is it the reason that we can no longer enable advanced graphics in board selector window?

Hi, Ive read the application note AN5247 "Over-the-air application and wireless firmware update for STM32WB Series microcontrollers" and noticed that the firmware will be deleted before storing the update. Therefor if the update fails (for example ble device gets out of range) the device will be without any firmware!?Does the STM32WB support any dual bank firmware update or do you guys have another solution to not lose the running firmware before new firmware is stored? An application note or example will be appreciated.Greetings,Taxara

Posted on October 18, 2017 at 15:55Dear community,I got the following statement from the reference manual for STM32L496 (RM0351) and it confuses me;This interface is for use with black & white cameras, X24 and X5 cameras, and it is assumed that all preprocessing like resizing is performed in the camera module.So does this mean this interface was not meant for color cameras? I mean it supports RGB and YCbCr, why does it have this statement?Can someone please clarify this for me?ps: I was planning to use an OV5640.Best Regards,Mete#stm32l4 #stm32l496ae #stm32l496 #dcmi #camera

Hi! I try to run SBSFU example on nucleo board with STM32WB55 but no luck. My bad, I didn't write user key before run an example.Now I try to do it but something wrong and I can't get state of FUS. I've started with an new project targeted for the Nucleo-F042K6 board and configured the following in the device configuration graphical tool:1) Assign pins 11 and 12 to USB_DM and USB_DP respectively.2) Open up middleware and enabled USB_device by double clicking it. Set the "Class For FS IP" value to "Human Interface Device Class (HID)"3) Selected the "Clock Configuration" tab at the top of the screen and allowed automatic clock configuration when asked.4) Saved the file and clicked yes to generate code.On the device itself I have connected up the following to the USB cable:+5v to +5v on the cablePA_11 to D+ on the cablePA_12 to D- on the cableGND to GND on the cableNext I build the cod and run it (it stops on the first line of main which is expected so I click resume to run the code).I then plug in the USB cable into the computer (Windows 10) and run up the "USB Device Viewer (Found as part of the windows debug tool set).The problem is there is no device reported. Hi, I am working on a USB PD project. STUSB4500 is used to request the 20V/12V 3A from the source. I flashed the NVM inside of the IC. The writing on the NVM seems to be successful as I can read it back and verifiy it. After reconnecting it, I can read the PDOs differently and have the desired voltage and current configuration. However, when I plug it to the PD source, only 5V is drawn. I checked the:CC_STATUS = 0x1CPORT_STATUS_1 = 0x41According to the datasheet, the USB is connected and drawing powerPE_FSM = 0x00But the PE_FSM shows that the IC is still in PE_INIT state. Is it showing that the IC is not able to boot? Anything I could do to fix it? Thank you very much

Dear all,I still haven't understood how the workflow should be for applications that use TouchGFX on STM32H7 devices. As far as I understood there is not graphic support at all since CubeMX5.5.0. On the other side I seems that I cannot import an STM32 project into TouchGFX. Therefore I assume the starting point is the TouchGFX Designer. Choose a board with a H7 device and after setting up all GUI elements the code can be generated. However, that generated code is not directly usable as STM32IDECubeMX project. I managed to import it as AC6 project. The structure of the project is similar, but not equal. So how to deal with that? Did I overlook something?Best RegardsMarkus

I'm new to STM32 development.I use a STM32F407G-DISC1 kit.When I create a new project in STM32CubeMX for this board, I get all my on-board components like LEDs, buttons etc. mapped in GPIO section. This is very handy, because these evaluation board often used for quick prototyping.When I go through the same process in STM32CubeIDE, for some reason I/O is not mapped. I answer Yes to the "Initialize all peripherals with their default Mode" dialog, but the GPIO section remains empty. Maybe I do something wrong here?I can first generate a project in STM32CubeMX and then open it STM32CubeIDE, but I would definitely prefer if I could do both initial configuration and development withing one application.I use the latest available veresion of STM32CubeIDE (v1.2.1).

Hi!I encounter the issue with font appears differently in the old and new version of touchGFX.The font I use : Noto Sans Medium.In the old version (4.10) the Noto Sans Medium looks thin and tallAt the same time, typography name for Noto Sans Medium family is weird, see pic below.In the new version (4.12) the Noto Sans Medium looks thicker, no problem with name display.Now we kind of sure the thicker one is the correct one, but we want an explanation, what caused this difference?Input from google font family: For use in web content: it is very important to use the fonts as web fonts. When a font is only specified in CSS font-family but not really delivered to the client as a web font, the browser will automatically fall back to another font. Some Noto fonts are available at Google Web Fonts Early Access. However, sometimes, it doesn’t serve the latest version of Noto or provides a subset of a font. In addition, be aware that the web latency for large fonts, such as for Noto Sans CJ
