Is there (or have there been) some big issues with the BFB2 option and the STM32 Bootloader ?I have been trying to implement firmware updating from our host by using the BFB2 option bit on three different STM32's and all of them behave differently:STM32F469VIT6 (2Mb Flash)Works as expected:Load “Program A? into 0x08000000Load “Program B? into 0x08100000 (Compiled and linked with same script)Power up and “Program A? runsTurn on BFB2 and “Program A? continues runningPower cycle and “Program B? runsTurn off BFB2 and “Program B? continues runningPower cycle and now “Program A? runsSTM32L476RG (1Mb Flash)Works almost as expected:Load “Program A? into 0x08000000Load “Program B? into 0x08080000 (Compiled and linked with same script)Power up and “Program A? runsTurn on BFB2, however, “Program B? starts immediately meaning I can’t now tell the host the f/w update worked.Power cycle and “Program B? runs againTurn off BFB2 and “Program A? starts immediatelyPower cycle and “Program A

I'm looking at Appending A.1.10 of AN5457 where the PA matching impedance measurements for the UFQFPN48 package @14dBm and 915Mhz are shown. I cannot match up the points 1 through 5 in figure 80 with the rows 1 through 5 in table 14 below the figure.For example, point 5 in the chart is between the 22mA and 23mA lines but the table lists 27.38. There are 3 points above the 25mA contour in the chart but only 2 in the table. Etc.

I have an atomic variable and want to use compare_exchange_weak on it.But I'm getting the following linker error when compiling with STM32CubeIDE v1.8.0 (arm-none-eabi 9.3.1:(arm-none-eabi\bin\ld.exe: ./Core/Src/main.o: in function `std::__atomic_base<unsigned char>::compare_exchange_weak(unsigned char&, unsigned char, std::memory_order, std::memory_order)': arm-none-eabi\include\c++\9.3.1\bits/atomic_base.h:457: undefined reference to `__atomic_compare_exchange_1'Here is a minimal example to demonstrate the linker error:/* main.cpp */   #include <cstdint> #include <cstdio> #include <atomic>   int main() { std::atomic<uint8_t> some_atomic_var { 0 };   some_atomic_var.store(3U); // atomic store works fine printf("%u\n", some_atomic_var.load()); // atomic load works fine   auto val = some_atomic_var.load();   // set second bit while (!some_atomic_var.compare_exchange_weak(val, val | (1 << 2U))); // gives linker error

I want to receive hex data from terminal like 0x66, 0x55, 0x44, 0x23, 0x11, 0xaa, 0xbb, 0xcc. Normally we can receive messages in string over UART. But I want to receive hex data instead of character or string from terminal. I am using stm32cubemx HAL library.Can anyone give me a solution on how I can implement this?

After seeing the MOOC about the MPU Usage I am wondering about the speculative access reads. From the video it seemed, that they could occur to any random location unless that area was configured as strongly ordered or device memory. What about the areas that are not defined in the mpu. Do I need to specifically disable those regions (e.g. unused fmc or ospi peripherals)? I would guess not, as it is not done in any example. To summarize the questions:a) If I use the MPU, can the speculative accesses be made to any address outside of the regions I declared i the mpu settings?b) What restricts these speculative accesses (except for mpu regions - strongly ordered/ device memory)?

Are the SPC563M64L5 and SPC560P50L5 microcontrollers pin compatible?I mean, can two microcontrollers be assembled instead of each other?

I'd like to restore my Nucleo-u575zi-q to the stock firmware with the alternating green-blue-red LED progression but I can't find the original firmware app. I have the support pack but I can't identify that particular firmware example. Where can I find that, or, how can I retrieve the firmware from an unmolested, new board?  Thanks,tjm

I am very new in STM32, earlier i tried it on CubeMX but no use of it.now i want o start code on register base. like belowlike, https://controllerstech.com/how-to-setup-uart-using-registers-in-stm32/but i am not getting where is alternate function chart ,there i can assigned UART to GPIO.thanking you

We were using STM32H730VB to drive a LED display in our project. Pins 51 - 64 drive the LED display, Pin 30 controls the display power, and pins 24 - 25 act as the USART. We use CubeProgrammer to download the firmware.This worked well and with no issues. However, due to the chip shortage, we swapped the H730 for the H750. While the display itself works fine, the main issue is that we cant re program the STM as it does not enter bootloader mode. The root of the issue is the PB15 pin. If the pin is connected to the LED display, the STM does not enter bootloader. If it is not connected, it enters bootloader mode. We confirmed that this pin is the root of the issue, by using a jumper cable and substituting PB15 with PC12. In this case, everything works fine.We wanted to know if here is any fix that does not involve changing the pin or disconnecting the display each time we need to re program the STM.Thanks Please Note: There are no issues at all if we program it using Segger J-Link and Cub

I took the driver from Arduino for ADS119X and implement the HAL code for STM.When compiling, it gives me “undefined reference to `keepSetting'?. First I tought on a code problem but after long time of trail and error, I was looking on forums. It’s mentioned that there is some link problem. I try to solve it but no result.In ADS119X.c I have:#include "ADS119X.h" #include "stm32l4xx_hal.h"   uint8_t ADS119X_keepSetting(uint8_t address) { return _regData[address]; } void ADS119X_setChannelSettings(uint8_t _address, uint8_t pwdownSetting, uint8_t gainSetting, uint8_t muxSetting ) { uint8_t _valueToWrite = keepSetting(_address) & ~(ADS119X_CHnSET_PD_MASK | ADS119X_CHnSET_GAIN_MASK | ADS119X_CHnSET_MUX_MASK) ; _valueToWrite |= (pwdownSetting & ADS119X_CHnSET_PD_MASK ) | (gainSetting & ADS119X_CHnSET_GAIN_MASK) | (muxSetting & ADS119X_CHnSET_MUX_MASK) ; WREG(_address , _valueToWrite); } void ADS119X_setAllChannelSettings(uint8_t pwdownSetting, uint8_t gainSetting, u

Hello, I've a STM32 NUCLEO board (STM32F446RETx) with an SD card board connected to it.Im using:STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.7.0 Build: 10852_20210715_0634 (UTC)STMicroelectronics STM32CubeMX 6.3.0.202107141111 com.st.stm32cube.common.mxSTM32CubeF4 Firmware Package V1.26.0 / 12-February-2021SDIO peripheral has been configured properly (DMA for both RX and TX).I'm executing the following code:When executed, this code works well and generate both the directory and the file on the SD card as long as FreeRTOS is disable.If FreeRTOS is enabled " if(f_mount(&fileSystem, "/", 1) == FR_OK)" always fails.Any known reason for this ? Is there anything that must be done (FreRTOS or FATFS configuration) to make these two modules coexisting ?Thanks, Joel

Hi , I'm writing here to ask community some help with the F446VET chip. I tried the Cube Ide and CubeMX to perform all the settings.What have been done so far :In the USB_DEVICE--> Class for FS IP is set to "Communication Device Class(Virtual Port Com)"In the RCC->HSE and LSE are both enabled (pins PH0/PH1 and PC14/PC15)I use the PA12/PA11 pins as for USBAnd in the USB_OTG_FS Mode is set to Device_Only .After I flash the code generated on the board and connect through the USB connected to the pins A12 and A11 Windows is continuously trying to recognize the device , over and over again with the message "Device Description Failed " . Tried on other laptop and the same stuff.Other suggestions and help would be appreciated, thank you.

I'm testing STM32L051C8T6 without any peripherals or extra electronics. No crystals used.After reset and first power down I get about 1.40uA. the MCU wakes up and powers down and then I get about 3uA in power down mode. After changing all kind of code I'm out of options. Any suggestions?The main code. The MCU wakes up from RTC AlarmA. int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */   /* USER CODE END 1 */   /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/   /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init();   /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */   /* USER CODE END Init */   /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config();   /* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit */   /* USER CODE END SysInit */   /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); // MX_RTC_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ __HAL_RCC_PWR_CLK_ENABLE(); HAL_PWR_EnableBkUpAccess(); /* USER CODE END 2 */ &nb

I downloaded this package >750Mb to get acquainted, see screen.How can I remove it?

I was working with SPI dma transmision. I config two channels for transmit and receive, however I didn't enable interrupt option in dma, however, before each transmision I cleared tc flag, and then enable spi while polling the tc flag. This works really well. Now I am trying to do the same for usart, I config the dma peripheral before transmission and reception, and I don't activate the interrupt, but I clear the tc flag for each dma channel. This works well the first time, but second time, rx line does not generate tc flag rise.

Hello there.Our design currently utilizes MDMA for intensive writes from SRAM4 to FMC bus area. Transfer is setup with double word transactions, witch is critical for performance. DMA 1/2 or BDMA is simply do not cut it due to lack of AXI access i guess. When I switch from MDMA to DMA1/2 or BDMA performance halves roughly by 2. But we do need to restart transaction right after it finished. Unfortunately MDMA cannot trigger itself as far as I understand. Even linked list mode requires each element to be triggered by something. It can only be softwaretriggered or triggered by a limited trigger table.How do I keep my write performance and make MDMA auto restart transaction?I think i can hack in some Timer and DMA1 together to serve as trigger for MDMA but this is looks like a hack rather than a solution. Is my understanding of MDMA triggering correct?ThanksEDIT:The chip in question is STM32H750. But i think only H7 series have MDMA onboard.EDIT2:Looks like in page 9 of this doc: http

Hello Everyone,I have Devboard (STM32H750B-DK) and i did some experiments by using touchgfx but now i am trying custom board (with STM32H750XBH6 ) but i don't how i integrate ( Touchgfx, STMCubeIDE & CubeMX) and generate code please guide me.

When I create libraries, sometime I forget create the variable in .c file and then write the same in header file with extern. I just create the variable in header file, and access to his from .c file and even from other libraries. IAR compiler warn this, however stm32cube ide with gcc compiler does not. I don't know if there is option to make the compiler more strict with mistakes like this. I already enable warn for implicit conversion flag which is helpful.

I use STM32CubeMX6.3.0 to config DAC ,DMA ,TIM2,and gererate projec for MDK,the initial order is below（auto create by STM32CubeMX6.3.0）: MX_GPIO_Init();MX_DAC_Init();MX_DMA_Init(); MX_TIM2_Init();then I create a buffer for sin wave,data,and start DAC:HAL_TIM_Base_Start(&htim2); HAL_DAC_Start_DMA(&hdac,DAC_CHANNEL_1,(uint32_t *)sin_wave,256,DAC_ALIGN_12B_R);but no wave !I must change the initial order manually to below: MX_GPIO_Init();MX_DMA_Init();MX_DAC_Init(); MX_TIM2_Init();then the sin wave is generated by DAC+DMA+TIM2.is this a bug for STM32CubeMX6.3.0?

i would like to run 3 BLDC motors out of the STM32.  Are only TIM1 and TIM8 the only advanced timers available? is there any part that has 3? We use the comp output 3-phase PWMs with success driving 1 or 2 motors, but now we need to drive 3 and don't want to use 2 controllers.

i am using stm32h723zg nucleo board, I'm using adc's direct channe, There are 2 different analog channel definition processes for the direct channel.what is the difference between the two.A-)LL_SYSCFG_OpenAnalogSwitch(LL_SYSCFG_ANALOG_SWITCH_PC2|LL_SYSCFG_ANALOG_SWITCH_PC3);B-) GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = LL_GPIO_PIN_2 | LL_GPIO_PIN_3;  GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = LL_GPIO_MODE_ANALOG; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = LL_GPIO_PULL_NO; LL_GPIO_Init(GPIOC, &GPIO_InitStruct); İf ı use A,noise is increasing,,A is more than noise B

Hello guys, how are you all?I'm currently developing using the X-NUCLE-SAFEA1 board integrated with an STM32WB55. I was executing the pairing example generating a randomic mac and cipher key. I stored successfully this keys into the STSafe, but my program failed to save in the MCU flash, and now these both keys are lost.Is it possible to reset these keys? I was reading the restricted datasheet and there it says that i need an admin c-mac to execute this operation. I didn't quite got it what this actually means.Thanks in advance,Matheus

Hi,I am using 2 slaves on the I²C bus : touchscreen and FRAM.I am calling BSP_TS_GetState in the sampleTouch function.bool STM32TouchController::sampleTouch(int32_t& x, int32_t& y) { bool ret = false;   if (!i2cUsed) { i2cUsed |= 2; TS_StateTypeDef state = { 0 }; BSP_TS_GetState(&state); i2cUsed &= ~2;   if (state.touchDetected) { ret = true; x = state.touchX[0]; y = state.touchY[0]; } }   return ret; }void FRAM_Write(uint16_t address, uint8_t value) { while (i2cUsed) HAL_Delay(1); i2cUsed |= 1;   uint8_t writeBuff[3] = { address >> 8, address, value };   if (HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit(&hi2c2, I2C_FRAM_ADDRESS, writeBuff, 3, 1000) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }   HAL_Delay(1);   i2cUsed &= ~1; }I am working with FREERTOS and get stuck in while (i2cUsed) at times when I call FRAM_Write but I don't know why.The problem arises when BSP_TS_GetState is working and the FRAM_Write function is
