I'm following the OpenAMP_TTY_echo example. To do a Tx it basically uses two functions: VIRT_UART_Init and VIRT_UART_TransmitAfter I use VIRT_UART_Init, I can see in the Linux terminal a log message something that suggests the initialization is working. However, VIRT_UART_Transmit returns error.I was debugging and found that rpmsg_send_offchannel_raw function is returning because "dst == RPMSG_ADDR_ANY"However, VIRT_UART_Init, is initializing destiny as RPMSG_ADDR_ANYstatus = OPENAMP_create_endpoint(&huart->ept, RPMSG_SERVICE_NAME, RPMSG_ADDR_ANY, VIRT_UART_read_cb, NULL);These are automatic generated functions by STM32CubeMX.Am I missing something? Should I set the dest address somehow?Note this is code generated with STM32CubeMX, I only added the call to VIRT_UART functions.

I'm working through ST Application Note AN5027 (link) to interface PDM microphones via SAI (specifically, the example given on p41 onwards). I selected a Nucleo L4A6ZG for this, due to it having SAI, but I'm having some trouble following the DMA configuration options on p45. Specifically, 'Peripheral to Memory' is not an option in the drop-down (only Memory to Peripheral).I wonder:1) Is there something I'm missing (I admit, this could be a wide topic). I've not encountered this issue on other projects.2) Is there something about the L4A6ZG which makes it unsuited to this project? I've only previously used a F412ZG.Some further details which might be relevant: My project involves interfacing several (up to 8) MEMS PDM microphones, which is a method documented in AN5027. I used my F412 to develop the simple code for one microphone connected via I2S, but I'm now trying to expand that. The F412 doesn't have SAI, hence now using the L4A6.

Hello all, basicly I want to transfer 32bit data bit-wise to a periphal address. Therefore I tried a 200 IQ move and fed the DMA with the bitband adress of the 32Bit data. But the DMA directly sets the error flag. I didn't found a hint in the data sheets, that it isn't allowed to use 0x2200_0000 as source adress for the DMA. Anyone who can help ?Btw: I'm using a stm32L433

Hi,We wish to add CRC16 checksum to our communication payloads, and I see in the stm32mp157 datasheet CRC module section that it should support CRC32,16,8 and 7 bits."""25.4.3 CRC control register (CRC_CR)Bits 4:3 POLYSIZE[1:0]: Polynomial sizeThese bits control the size of the polynomial.00: 32 bit polynomial01: 16 bit polynomial10: 8 bit polynomial11: 7 bit polynomial"""But I do not see this being utilized in the ST CRC driver ("stm32-crc32.c") - Linux 5.10from a quick look at the ST CRC driver, I see only CRC32 support. To be clear, CRC32 works, and I have already tested it with a userspace application using AF_ALG to request kernel support to calculate CRC32.But we would like to use CRC16 instead.1) Am I understanding it correctly that only CRC32 algorithm is supported by the ST drivers ? Or am I wrong ?2) If I understood it correctly, and the ST driver does support only CRC32, does the actual HW support CRC16, or am I misunderstanding the datasheet, and the HW module supports CRC16

Hi, how can I call C function defined as uint32_t getValue(void) inside startup file (in Reset_Handler routine)? What is needed syntax? I tried importing it and setting it as extern (other standard keywords are not working), but nothing seems to work.I generated the project using CubeMX and use gcc for compilation. The uC is STM32F479VIT (cortex m4).

I've made a software so small that it does only the following steps:1) init clock and everything to work.2) in the main program I set PIN GPIO_A_8 to input with pull up enabled, nothing is connected to that pin except for a scope probe.3) then I configure PA9 to GPIO push-pull, here also nothing connected but a scope probe.4) a small task that sets GPIO_A_9 to high and to low with a dutycycle of 50% and every 100ms.5) on my scope image i see that pin PA8 follows pin PA9 but inverse output, so when PA9 goes up, PA8 goes down to 400mV, when PA9 goes down to ground level, PA8 goes to 3V3.I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong here and why PA8 starts to inverse following PA9. If I switch PA8 and PA9 (driving PA8) Then PA9 does not do anything strange and stays 3v3.I also do not think I have a short as the signal would never be inverted....If any of you have any idea what to do it would be appreciated. This is very strange at least.

I am using STM32CubeIDE to build a freeRTOS project. I have put my tasks in their own .h and .c files. For example I have a default_task.c file. The problem is each time I open CubeMX and save my changes, the 'auto code update' feature does not see my default_task.c file and creates a function in main.c. Is there a doc showing how to configure STM32CubeIDE and CubeMX so that I can have it update my code correctly? If not, is there a way to see what changes CubeMX will be making so that I can make them manually?

I have an STM32F7 which I have configured RCC's HSE and LSE as Crystal Resonator and am using HSE as a clock source for my project PLL Source Mux and PLLCLK for System Clock Mux. The RCC configuration does show conflict warnings at Master Clock Output 2 and Audio Clock Input options, since I am using SDMMC1 and they conflict, but I don’t use those for my project so I'm not sure it is causing the error to be thrown. When using the debugger trying to step through the generated code just to see how it executes, my project is failing at the SystemClock_Config(), specifically:   /* Check the HSI ready flag */   if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_HSIRDY) == RESET)   {    return HAL_ERROR;   }  }I’ve done everything in the configurator and there are no errors in the pin configuration section. I have not added any code yet to the generated code, so I am not sure what is causing this error.

Hello folk, i hope you fine, i am using the STM32L072, i need erase FLASH memory from 0x08008000 up to the end, i read in the datasheet that every sector has 4Kb and every page has 128 bytes, i have the following: FLASH_EraseInitTypeDef borrat;   borrat.NbPages = 1; borrat.PageAddress = 0x8008000; //flashAddr; borrat.TypeErase = FLASH_TYPEERASE_PAGES;   uint32_t pagE; HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); // HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&borrat, &pagE); HAL_FLASH_Lock();In this code it erase just a page from 0x8008000, is that true? so i don't understand how to erase all pages from start position up to the end, can someone helps me?¿Thanks a lot!

Posted on February 28, 2018 at 08:40       My company is working exclusively with Linux, and we have interest in the SPC5 MCUs. But I couldn't find any toolchain for Linux. the SPC5-STUDIO is based on eclipse and claim to be an 'OpenSource Integrated Development Environment' so I was really expecting to find it on Linux, but the download page only provide a Windows binary. Is there any solution for Linux users ?   #spc5studio #linux

I have tried the application "STM32G474_MB1303_DRP_ONLY" from STUSB014-v1.1.1 to start my development. but there is a build break by some function in usbpd_core.h.But the related files and libraries are included in my project and listed in the project explorer.is there any step need to check??using CubeIDE 1.9Thanks a lot

Hi all,I would like to ask if there is a suggested procedure to move the network weights, the one generated inside network_data.h, to external memory-mapped QSPI FLASH. I've already moved both input/output data and activation to external SRAM, but I'm facing with a compile time error when I do the same with weights (initializer element is not constant). Before start changing things to solve it, maybe someone of you can help!I've analysed the example FP-AI-VISION1, but it seems to move only input/output data and activations, not weights.Thank you and kind regards.

I've written a simple program which should write data through UART to a PuTTY terminal on my laptop. I have the L4R5ZI Nucleo board, connected to my laptop via USB. I'm only sending 'Hello World \r\n' however, I get 'H9Go]oG #' back every time. All of the baud rate settings in the terminal are the same as my configuration, so I think it must be a clock error. I don't have an oscilloscope to check. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I decided to run an experiment on my STM32F767ZI microcontroller. I turned on the cycle count register (DWT->CYCCNT) and decided to run the program step by step on Keil. I set the clock to the maximum amount possible with a PLL on this MCU, which is 216 MHz. I found out that stepping into __nop() will add a value of 17 to the CYCCNT register. I tried this experiment multiple times and every time I got the same result. What may the reason be? I thought that __nop() will only take one clock to finish?

I have designed a target board based on STM32G484VE and I am encountering a problem with GPIO outputs while powering on.The requirement is no output should get high status while powering on or during reset. So I have configured the IOs using CUBEMX and all the outputs are configured as PushPull with Pulldown enabled. But when the board is powered on all the outputs are activated momentarily and it gets to its normal status of being low.BOR level is set at 3. Is there anything else , that I should take care of .HAL program on GPIO - for reference :/*Configure GPIO pin Output Level */ HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOE, SUC_VAL_Pin|IRRIG_VAL_Pin|ALT_VAL_Pin|VAC_VAL_Pin             |EJE_VAL_Pin|SPARE_Pin|REF_VAL_Pin|CUTTERB_Pin             |CUTTERA_Pin, GPIO_PIN_RESET); /*Configure GPIO pins : SUC_VAL_Pin IRRIG_VAL_Pin ALT_VAL_Pin VAC_VAL_Pin   &n

Could someone explain why POWER EARTH and GND (PIN 1) are tied togheter? This not make sense for me.

Hello,I'm currently using and working on B-U585I-IOT02A Discovery kit. Today, I supply the board with STLINK source via CN8 connector. But I want to be able to supply it with 12V voltage. So I will now supply the board via VIN pins and connect jumper JP4 between pins 3 and 4.On the user manual of the demoboard, it is written that VIN can be supplied with voltage up to 12V but when I take a look at the board schematic, it is written on page 8 "WARNING voltage applied to VIN < 11.5V". On the datasheet of the regulator that convert VIN to 5V_VIN, I do not see any mention of such a warning. So I'm asking here what is the reason of this warning, and is it possible to supply safely the board with a VIN voltage of 12V ?Thank you very much for your answer,

We have project for STM32F405 configured and code generated with STM32Cube 5.x.x.x.After installing Version 6.0.0.0 and when project was migrated to STM32Cube Version 6.0.0.0 and code regenerated, all IRQ priorities for peripherals (UART, SPIs, I2C, USB, etc) were set to 0 instead to 5. Firmware compiled but it was crashing in various parts.Details from IOC file:Original File: MxCube.Version=5.6.1MxDb.Version=DB.5.0.60Migrated File:MxCube.Version=6.0.0MxDb.Version=DB.6.0.0All IRQ priorities set to 0. Had to manually change them to 5 in order to get firmware running again. We also have project for STM32L072 and on that MCU Version 6.0.0.0 also migrates all IRQ priorites to 0. Had to be fixed manually. This seems to be fairly serious fault that is pretty much show stopper for us.

We make below code. The variable a is written from both main function and interrupt function. When accessing variable a with the main function to realize exclusive control, interrupt disable and enable (__disable_irq(), __enable_irq()) are used. How long does it take from the execution of the interrupt disable function to the reflection on the CPU at this time?Or is there a mechanism to access the variable a after the interrupt disable is reflected in the structure of the CPU?If there is a manual regarding the behavior after executing the interrupt prohibition function, please let me know.

I noticed that STMCubeIDE version 1.9.0 refers to a fairly old version of CMSIS V5.2.0 from May 2019 while ARM has published 5.8.0 in the meantime. Is there a way to install a newer version of CMSIS in an existing project?I have to two types of code in a timing critical interrupt routine:mergedVal = ((uint16_t) maxVal << 16) | (uint16_t) minVal; andif(x < minVal) { minVal = x; } else if(x > maxVal) { maxVal = x; }There are three perfectly fitting assembler instructions PKHBT, VMAXNM.F32 and VMINM.F32 that fulfill exactly that purpose. However, in the cmsis_gcc.h file of version 5.2.0, __PKHBT is poorly implemented, actually not taking advantage of the availability of this assembly instruction. So I implemented it via the macro#define PKHBT(ARG1, ARG2, ARG3) \ ({ \ uint32_t __RES, __ARG1 = (ARG1), __ARG2 = (ARG2); \ __ASM ("pkhbt %0, %1, %2, lsl %3" : "=r" (__RES) : "r" (__ARG1), "r" (__ARG2), "I" (ARG3) ); \ __RES; \ })which is actually commented out in cmsis_gc

Hello,I am planning to build amplifier based on single TDA7293 SoC, in class G (as described in technical note). I have 2 voltages, +22/-22 and +45/-45V. The speaker has 4 ohms. Can TDA7293 handle the 100W RMS power, or it is too much for single chip and I should use bridge model (two TDA7293 connected master-slave)?When bridged, may I use same supply voltage? The frequency is limited to range 10Hz- 150Hz.best regardsM.
