I'm trying to do a quick eval of a NUCLEO-G474re board for use of the SoC as a product communication controller (I2C, SPI, RS-485, etc.), initially using the Arduino environment for rapid testing. Initial attempt to bring up I2C causes NO activity on SCL/SDA as observed on a logic analyzer.Relevant code fragments for a DS1683 at 7-bit address 0x6B: #include <Wire.h> Wire.begin(); // SCL/SDA on Arduino D15/D14 (G474 PB8/PB9) Wire.setClock(100000L); // 100 kHz Wire.beginTransmission(0x6B); Wire.write(0x01); // Check the Status register Wire.requestFrom(0x6B, 1); byte RegData = Wire.read(); Wire.endTransmission();Am I missing something obvious? Why is the I2C bus quiet? Thanks!Edit: Downloaded an I2C Scanner sketch. No I2C activity on the NUCLEO, but works on an Arduino Due.-BobC

Hi,I am having trouble configuring the ADC on my STM32L431KB. The calibration procedure appears to go well until it gets to the step where the program waits for the calibration to finish. It is never able to finish. I think the problem may be related to the fact that ADC1_CR_ADEN is always set 1, and I am unable to change it to 0. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Thanks,

I've have a custom board with a STM32G031,from the board we have access to the following MCU pins:+3V3_BTNRSTBTSWDIOSWCLK_USARTTXI've connected this 4 pins to a ST-LINK/V2. Like this (left) mcu, (right) st-link.+3V3_BT --> VCCNRSTBT --> NRSTSWDIO --> SWDIOSWCLK_USARTTX --> SWCLKThe current delivered by PSU goes to almost 0 after trying to flash (around 0.004A from the correct 0.041A). When trying to flash the uC these are the errors/log I get:10:37:32 : ST-LINK SN : 55FF6E067871515343241267 10:37:32 : ST-LINK FW : V2J39S7 10:37:32 : Board : -- 10:37:32 : Voltage : 2,60V 10:37:32 : SWD freq : 4000 KHz 10:37:32 : Connect mode: Normal 10:37:32 : Reset mode : Software reset 10:37:32 : Device ID : 0x466 10:37:32 : Revision ID : Rev 1.1 10:37:35 : Error: Database: There's no active configuration for this device. if i will change this codition to "off" state during program excuation it will change to "off" .but when i change screen to another screen the position is came to starting point "on".how i solve this ?

Hello, there is a bullet in the STM32L0 HAL that escape me. On page 38 of UM1749 it is said:"When a status bit or a flag is read from registers, it is composed of shifted values depending on the number of read values and of their size. In this case, the returned status width is 32 bits. Example : STATUS = XX | (YY << 16) or STATUS = XX | (YY << 8) | (YY << 16) | (YY << 24)".Can someone give me a function/macro that implements it so I can look at its implementation?Does anyone know what case "In this case" refers to?Does anyone know what XX and YY refer to?If someone can give me a concrete example, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello,is there any example of a TFM application that is supported by STM32CubeIDE?I came across the iot-reference-stm32u5, but the structure of the project is way different from any other TrustZone and TFM examples available as part of the STM32CubeU5 Firmware Package and find this a bit confusing.Would really appreciate if someone could shed some light. Many thanks

Hi, I'm doing a project with STM32F769I-EVAL.In my project, I set Timer 2 Channel 1 to input capture mode, and I made a clock to TIM2 CH1 Pin with Function Generator. And Timer 5 Channel1 to PWM Generation CH1 to make a PWM.I calculate frequency of input clock and set same frequency to Timer 5 and start HAL_TIM_PWM_Start and It works succefully. Now, I wonder how to generate PWM same phase with Input clock. Can I generate TIM5 PWM signals when Timer 2 update event occurs to generate same phase with Input clock and TIM5 PWM Signals?

hello,I am working with ST25RU3993-HPEV baord. Getting all the list of inventoried tags in GUI (ST25RU3993 Reader Suite). I have gone through the ST25RU3993 SDK and tried to change the code to print the list of tags in uart. But iam unable to do so. Please help to identify the necessary chages required for printing the list of tags in uart.Tahnk you

2 years ago it happened that the controller turned to brick. I corresponded with technical support for a long time and I was offered to send the controller to the factory or representative. But since the case was a single one, I did not take advantage of this case and forgot about it.Now there is a situation that, probably, everyone who uses this chip has, namely, that for unknown reasons it turns into a brick.I re-read all my messages in the STM community, but to my surprise, the post in which I described the transformation into brick disappeared.Today I have about 70 controllers with which I cannot do anything because they are not programmable.I decided to understand the reason and found it.The reason is well described in the post:https://community.st.com/s/feed/0D53W000010si7oSAA?t=1676280731376But for all this time, not a single STM employee has given a clear explanation of why this is happening. The question is simple: why sometimes, after loading the stack, the chip register SFSA

I managed to program the FLASH_OPTR user option bytes and set the SRAM2_ECC to zero (enabled). But when restarting the µC the RAMCFG_M2CR ECCE bit is not set and the RAM ECC is not active. So during startup when the .data section is initialized in SRAM2 the ECC is not active. And Activating it later directly leads to constand ECC single error interrupts and ECC double error interrupts, when reading RAM constant that was initialized before the ECC activation. What do I oversee so that the ECC is not activated on restart?

On the STM32 SAI peripheral, there's a member of the SAI_InitTypeDef which is: uint32_t OutputDrive; /*!< Specifies when SAI Block outputs are driven. This parameter can be a value of @ref SAI_Block_Output_Drive @note This value has to be set before enabling the audio block but after the audio block configuration. */However, I can't find any docs on what that means or does anywhere on the documentation or even on Google. Could someone help me understand it?Thanks

This code only works when I'm debugging step by step. Otherwise, it always sends ADEN low again, which should not happen!! (Correct sequence: ADEN goes high then ADRDY goes high and both stay high...) (Note both ADEN and ADRDY are low before line 54 of pa1_adc_init() function) The reference manual says...Maybe I need this "time-out management" but I don't have a watchdog timer enabled so unless I'm understanding incorrectly, I don't think that's the issue.The issue occurs on lines 56 and 57 of my pa1_adc_init () function below. #include "stm32f0xx.h" #include "adc.h" #include "uart.h"   int ADC_VALUE = 0; // Global variable to store the ADC value (only 16 bits are useful) volatile int PA1_ADC_VALUE; // Global variable to store the PA1 ADC value (only 16 bits are useful) volatile int TEMPSNS_ADCVALUE; // Global variable to store the Internal Temp Sensor ADC value (only 16 bits are useful)     int main (void) { //int ADC_VALUE; uart2_tx_init(); pa1_adc_init();

I successfully implemented a service with different characteristics. However on the android side when I call getDescriptor()descriptor =characteristic.getDescriptor(UUID.fromString(CLIENT_CHARACTERISTIC_CONFIG)); CLIENT_CHARACTERISTIC_CONFIG = "00002902-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb";It always returns null. I need this to set the notify command to be true. In the ST BLE Toolbox, this works perfectly. So in principle, this should be able to be called. It seems that I missed a setting in CubeMX.

I'm starting with the wb15. For this I followed the video series and currently I'm stuck at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFDMBeJpib0&list=PLnMKNibPkDnG9JRe2fbOOpVpWY7E4WbJ-&index=15Even following every step in the cube setting I'm not getting any advertising from the board. I turned on the debug to monitor the logs of the m4 core but nothing appears. In comparison I took the Heart Beat example project, applied the same steps in the ioc-file and managed to fullfill this tutorial and get log from the debug. For learning purposes however I want to do this from sketch. It seems that appart from the cube settings to generate the code, the app which launch the BLE needs some commands in the C/C++ files. This however is not mentioned in this tutorial series.

I can't find general-purpose STM32 and STM8 under https://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/about/quality-and-reliability/product-longevity.htmlDoes this mean that ST gave up on that promise?JW

Here is the code snippet. HAL_Delay(5000); if (HAL_ADCEx_Calibration_Start(&hadc1,ADC_SINGLE_ENDED) != HAL_OK) { print_debug_str("Did not calibrate right!"); } else { char buf[32]; sprintf(buf,"Calibration Factor: %lu\r\n",ADC1->CALFACT); print_debug_str(buf); }if I let this run it fails. If I put a break point on the if (HAL_ADCEx_Calibration_Start(&hadc1,ADC_SINGLE_ENDED) != HAL_OK)and step over it works. If I remove the HAL_Delay(5000) it does not work unless I put in a break. It will work (return HAL_OK) after the break even if I immediately tell it to continue and run where the delay is much less than 5 seconds. I put in the delay because I thought it needed more time to settle down. That does not seem to be the case. I even tried to make the delay 15 seconds. It still will not return HAL_OK Thanks for the response. Kip

I have a project where I want to add a simple PWM. I'm using the stm32h series. I have a scope on PA3, and I set up my timer2 for PWM on channel 4. I did this all in the IOC file as I want to understand how to create the PWM I need. I see it added my init code and I'm guessing I need to add a few lines to start it.maybe a timer startHAL_TIM_Base_Start_IT(&htim2);and a pwm startHAL_TIM_PWM_Start(&htim2, TIM_CHANNEL_4);the lines it added werestatic void MX_TIM2_Init(void) {   /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM2_Init 0 */   /* USER CODE END TIM2_Init 0 */   TIM_ClockConfigTypeDef sClockSourceConfig = {0}; TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig = {0}; TIM_OC_InitTypeDef sConfigOC = {0};   /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM2_Init 1 */   /* USER CODE END TIM2_Init 1 */ htim2.Instance = TIM2; htim2.Init.Prescaler = 0; htim2.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim2.Init.Period = 83999999; htim2.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; htim2.Init.AutoReloadPreload =

I am using an STM32H753I-EVAL2. I have the real-time clock(RTC) counting. I want it to be set to the current time. I am successfully able to do this inside of MX_RTC_Init() with:RTC_TimeTypeDef sTime = {0}; sTime.Hours = 0x11; sTime.Minutes = 0x22; sTime.Seconds = 0x33; if (HAL_RTC_SetTime(&hrtc, &sTime, RTC_FORMAT_BCD) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }I configured the H7 such that the RTC continues to count when the main power is disconnected, through VBAT. The issue is that STM reruns all of the code when it is repowered, causing the time to be reset to where it started. Is there any way to avoid it rerunning all code? Thanks

The error message says that this plug in needs jdk 17 : jdk 17 is installed and I have added the option -vm with corresponding path to javaw.exe. Error Message is still present after CubeIDE restart.

Hi! all experts in Community ST,I have been working on the embedded flash memory of STM32G474RE and the whole programming process of the flash memory has been successful. However, I do not understand how the Error Correction Code works.Referring to the reference manual,8-bit ECC code is calculated and added per double word(64 bits). If I interpreted correctly, when 64-bit or 8 bytes data is programmed at some address, the 8-bit ECC code is calculated automatically and is stored in flash memory, following the data. Is it correct? Here is the memory map of my test case:Data: 0x1111111122222222Addr: 0x0807F808As you can see, the data has been successfully stored in the designated address but I can't find where the ECC is.It is quite confusing for me.If I want to store new data after the data which I already write, should I leave 8-bit for the ECC Code? or should I just write right after where the previous data ends?I think I am not on the right track :'( Where the ECC Co

Hi,I've tried to configure the DREADY to INT1 and read the output registers. I believe I'm making some mistake in the configuration as I observed that I'm able to read the OUT registers when I using the polling method. I've tried using the ST MEMS C driver and directly writing to the registers. Below is a code snippet of what I tried using to configure the LIS3DH```uint8_t lis3dh_on_boot(stmdev_ctx_t *ctx){  uint8_t config[6] = {0x07, 0x00, 0x10, 0xA8, 0x00, 0x01};  uint8_t config_read[6] = {0};  uint8_t ctrl_reg0 = 0x90;  uint8_t ctrl_reg1 = 0x07;  uint8_t ctrl_reg2 = 0x00;  uint8_t ctrl_reg3 = 0x80;  uint8_t ctrl_reg4 = 0xA8;  uint8_t ctrl_reg5 = 0x00;  uint8_t ctrl_reg6 = 0x02;  lis3dh_write_reg(ctx, LIS3DH_CTRL_REG0, &ctrl_reg0, 1);  lis3dh_write_reg(ctx, LIS3DH_CTRL_REG1, &ctrl_reg1, 1);  lis3dh_write_reg(ctx, LIS3DH_CTRL_REG2, &ctrl_reg2, 1); &n
