I think opening the IOC file in STM32 Cube IDE fixed the problem, somehow.The RTOS tab now works normally in Cube MX.also yes everything is installed.

Thanks for the reply, obviously the module is installed, otherwise I would not even see the checkbox to enable it.Clicking the CMSIS RTOS2 checkbox produces the described freeze and errors in the log.
