STM32CubeProgrammer 2.5.0 fails to open on macOS Catalina v 10.15.6

I have installed Java:

Successfully installed STM32CubeProgrammer:

If i launch in finder CubeProgrammer quits

If i launch in terminal java quits

I currently have STM32CubeIDE, STM32CubeMX, STM32CubeMonitor and STM32CubeMonitorRF all installed and working correctly.

Does anybody have any suggestions for a solution? I know this issue has been reported by a number of other community members using older software versions.

I believe I'm encountering the same problem on Ubuntu 20.04:

./STM32CubeProgrammer/bin/STM32CubeProgrammer
Error: Could not find or load main class com.st.app.Main
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javafx/application/Application

I also had problems starting it, but with some help it finally worked (macOS only)

I'm having same issue - installed various versions of JDK - currently on 8.0_231 - and no matter which version of java I use or how I launch SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2_5_0_macos (either via .app or command line) I get the following:

Any suggestions on how to get this thing installed?

Hello @LBeau.1​ 

The root cause of this issue may be conflicts between Java versions, so please, if you have many java versions installed try to uninstall all except 1.8.0_26 and then re-install CubeProgrammer.
