I am resuming electronics as a hobby after a significant hiatus. STM32Cube, MX and IDE are both fine. But the programmer is continually crashing. I am on linux and have replaced the OpenJDK by the Oracle JDK, no easy task for me either !

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 16.0.2+7-67)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.0.2+7-67, mixed mode, sharing)

When I try to connect from a windows machine, all is good. But from linux when i try to connect, it crashes.

Buy a PC?

STM32CubeProgrammer is distributed within STM32CubeIDE. Perhaps trying to find it within that directory and running it from there would work better.

Or use the Java version used by STM32CubeIDE to run STM32CubeProgrammer.

Should I buy the computer from yourself ? One with a jeweled keyboard perhaps?

How should I do that, use the same java as used by the IDE? I doubt if intalling in the same directory would achieve it, there are constants pointing to which java to use, and I don't know how to point it at a particular java for only one programme. Thank you for idea, and for the idea of buying a new computer so I van get the problem anew.

I do not sell computers, sorry.

I was merely continuing your "buy a new computer" joke.
