STM32CubeIDE 1.12.0 Debugger Connect Problem

While using STM32CubeIDE I'm having a problem connecting to the device using the ST-LINK GDB server. I receive the following error message:

Tried the following to remedy the situation:

Erased existing program using STM32CubeProg.

Loaded and ran program using STM32CubEProg with no issues.

Erased program prior to exiting STM32CubeProg.

While using STM32CubeIDE to enter debug mode received the above message a second time.

Here are the debugger settings:

 

Setup a local console, manually executed ST-LINK_gdbserver and STM32_Programmer_CLI and received the following:

Allowed gdb_server through firewall, tried to enter debug mode again and still received the same error message. Assistance would be appreciated.

No ST_LINK detected please connect ST_LINK and restart the debug session

This message appears when you have a connection problem so try to change the cable or the port cable and tell me what's up

The issue was traced back to the internet kill switch.
