Evaluation of VisualGDB (no question, just to share my experience)

FSchr.1

I have evaluated the VisualGDB IDE and I am quite excited about the hassle less user experience.

Setup of a project for the Cortex M4 core is almost as easy as setup a Windows project.

Debugging of the Cortex M4 application is possible over ST-Link. The application is uploaded into the Linux file system an started by the Debugger. Using the debugger is almost as easy as using the Visual Studio debugger. User experience is far better than with the SW4STM32 IDE I tried before. Everything is done in the Windows environment and the ARM cross compiler for Windows will be automatically downloaded and installed.

Developing a Linux application with VisualGDB is also possible. This is the next thing I will try.

I use VS/gdb exclusively, for all my projects (F0, F7 and H7).
