In the case of F746-DISCO, the resolution is 480 × 272,

For example, how to customize when connecting 800x600 LCD?

TouchGFX derives the screen resolution from the LTDC interface setup. if you change it there it should change for the TouchGFX as well.

Did this work? I will be doing a similar change soon.

I presume the LCD's ribbons are soldered to the Disco board (I have not looked). Did you install a connector?

There's no connector under the screen - it's soldered directly on the board. I've looked. Also, the connector is really wide, like 1mm pitch or similar, so soldering on a connector is not trivial.
