Why is the lead time for the STM32F303 901 days on digikey.com (checked May 4, 2021)?

Is this part not for new designs? We are prototyping on the nucleo which uses the same chip.

In case youve been living under a rock XD:

there has been a global pandemic going on and production lines are clogged, it will take some time to recover, untill then MCUs production is very slow.

If you find stock of your chip for less than 2x price consider yourself lucky.

"A few months" would be normal if something is not in stock. I'm sure they put several years because they have no idea when they will get more chips.
