UART Transmission on STM32 Nucleo-h723zg

SAW
Associate II

I am using STM32 Nucleo-h723zg for a UART serial transmission using UART4 and UART7. I have used UART4 only in my code to test since using both was not working. Still, nothing is showing on my RealTerm serial monitor. I used STM32 Cube IDE. I don't know why I can't see data being transmitted on the serial monitor.

Hello,

According to the board's schematics you need to use USART3 (Tx: PD8 and Rx: PD9) and use the virtual comport over STL-Link.

SofLit_0-1724931318953.png

Unless you have a specific HW connected between UART4 or UART7 and your PC.

I have changed my code a bit and used USART3 but still no result on the serial monitor

What GPIOs you selected for UART3? SB12 and SB19 are soldered?

Did you select the same UART parameters for USART3 as you did for the terminal?

I managed to do the UART transceiving. Only the USART3 was working. I had to change the data type from a string to a buffer for the STM32h723zg. The string format was working when I used stm32 nucleo C031C6. What is the reason behind this?

Thank you for your help this far.

Only the USART3 was working.

Indeed that's what we suggested you from the beginning.

As you succeeded to let UART working. Please mark Accept as Solution the comment that answered your question and please open a new thread for this new request and share more details so members can help you efficiently. Thank you.
