STM32 Bootloader & PC GUI Flash demonstrator
2011-05-17 03:16 AM
Dear all,
A new PC (Flash Loader) GUI demonstrator for the STM32 bootloader is available on this link :http://www.st.com/stonline/products/support/micro/files/um0462.zip
;) Enjoy it ! Regards, STOne-322011-05-17 03:16 AM
Hi,
I tried it on a B revision of chip on a Keil board and it works fine. For those who have a Keil board you can use the attached .hex file. BR, Nicolas. :D2011-05-17 03:16 AM
Had little success on rev A silicon - is it known to work?
Tried both IAR and Keil boards - currently have no rev B to try. Cheers sjo2011-05-17 03:16 AM
It doesn't work! The chip version is Rev B, Cable doesn't support hardware flow control. (The UART1 works fine.)

Can somebody confirm that hardware flow control (RTS/CTS) is not required?
I tried to communicate with Flash loader demonstrator (v1.0) from serial port terminal (pretending to be STM32) and it seems to be happy just with 3 wires( Rx,Tx,GND). However, when I replied to Get Command (as described AN2606, page 9/33) demonstrator reported error: ''cannot Get BL available commands'' Ivan2011-05-17 03:16 AM
Dear all,
I confirm that The flow control (RTS & CTS ) is not required. For revA and answering 'sjo' question we have some earlier versions of bootloader (1.x) but now the stable version is ''2.0'' and this is available on all revB & Z devices. To version number is available by ''Get Version'' command and is shown in the Flash Loader demonstrator once the connection is done, when you would like to select the target. Would it be possible to obtain a copy for revA silicon?

Dear Oliver,
I recommand you to request your free STM32 new samples using the Free samples from our web site and to move to RevB/Z :D and then Reworking it on you board (very easy if you have a good rework station). Regards, STOne32 :o
