Output Compare - STM32F3Discovery

daded.1
Associate II

Hello,

I need to understand the implementation of using output compare with timers  as a basis to tackle a more advanced project. My start point/goal is a timer with a period of 3 seconds and it toggles when CNT equals 800ms(CCR1). Clock is running at 32MHz. I started with CubeMX using timer 1 and the behavior is not as expected. It just toggles every 3 seconds. When CNT = CCR1 nothing happens.

I then ditched CubeMX and the HAL altogether and wrote the code in bare-metal. Same result. I have tried using the debugger to monitor the registers but something is amiss. Any help to understand what I may be missing is appreciated.

Attached are CubeMX screenshots and the code(bare-metal commented out)...

I commented out Auto generated functions when using bare-metal

Toggle mode means, that the output changes polarity when Compare event happens. And it happens once per period, regardless of the value of TIMx_CCRx, so you have always only one polarity change per period.

Use one of the two PWM modes instead of Toggle mode.
