I would like to know about the 3 character date code, YWW. I understand the WW is week of the year, but with the year only being one character, does 8 refer to 2018 or 2008?

Looks like ST would have used at least 2 character for the year.

Looking at the STM32G0 on my board I see 838. As the chip was not yet introduced 2008, the 8 mean 2018. A STM32G0 in 2020 will probably get encoded as Axx
