Can't seem to build & launch anything (Atollic TrueSTUDIO lite)

Total noob at this, trying to (re-)build and launch the demo code on the Discovery board as a baseline.

I'm running under Windows XP, downloaded and installed

Atollic TrueSTUDIO lite.

Discovery board is connected via USB cable, and happily runs its default program.

I succeeded in opening and (at least apparently) building the project, but what now?

When I select Run, I get ''Unable To Launch: The selection cannot be launched, and there are no recent launches.'' popup.

Is there a simple, clear, step-by-step beginner's guide to operating the tools?

Thanks!

Dave

It appears that the sequence you mentioned is the only way to actually load to the target board. If I modify the source, Build, then Load (Download button), disconnect and re-connect the board, it still boots the previous code.

If I Build, Start Debug, wait for download, Stop Debug, disconnect and re-connect, it boots the new code.

Does that sound right?

Yes, the straight download is buggy, I think it is the driver or the API. If you want to flash some arbitrary data the ST-LINK Utility program works better.

This is the only ST-LINK target I have, most everything else I'm using a U-Link (1/2/ME)
