Vertical Take off in STEVAL FCU001

mmdave1

Hi All,

I am beginner to drones. We assembled one drone using STEVAL FCU. 002. board ,  recommended set. of motors and. propellers along with battery.

We Chose different. frame.  than. one recommended . It is smaller in size.

While flying , vertical take. off. could. not be achieved.

Can someone guide please ?

Motor connections , Clock wise. ,  anti clock wise in reference. to alignment. of. the boards are checked. already.

It is ST board. so. come equipped with all driver , frimware etc.

Thanks in advance.

Early and accurate response is. appreciated.

Regards,

Hi Andrew,

I agree that recommended frame shall be used.

I have given it for. 3D printing.

And yes, Full Stops between words , I am also fed up . i don't know how but happening automatically while typing.

Thanks.

Hi. Peter,

Will check once again.

Regards,

Besides , I have basic doubt.

The frame we used is considerably smaller than the recommended.

What ever I understand regarding drone, I think smaller the base , lesser the. stability and drone may be more sensitive to input commands.

With wider base, this may not be the issue.

Can. this be. the technical reason behind. this ?

If so, then what is the right method to decide the frame size ?

Is there step by step guide which can give in depth clarity on selection of. motors , ESC , battery , propellers. etc. ?

Regards,

No:  just use the one that ST supply - it's in the kit!

So, again, just use the one from ST!

Get the thing working first.

You can think about tweaking it later.

And you will have a known-good reference against which to compare your tweaks.

Hi Andrew,

Tried to check setting of Keyboard.

Now , "Full stops" between words have reduced.

Regards,

Yes. I agree.

It is STL file published by ST for 3D printing.

I thought you just said that you agreed that just getting the ready-made one from ST was the best approach??

Hi Andrew,

It  seems  that , initially  as we don't have much experience and also as  you suggested , we shall  go  with ready made one from ST .

Simultaneously , we have pushed our PCB for manufacturing. Once  ready, we will test our  board on already proven other set of equipments. And  then , we will go  with tweaking with other frames.
