Using VREFBUF for motor control

Hey everyone,

the STM32G4s (including the STSPING4) have the VREFBUF feature, which allows to use an embedded voltage reference as reference voltage for the ADCs and DACs.

I’m a bit surprised to see, that this is not used by default on the official dev boards (EVLSPIN32G4-ACT and EVSPIN32G4) and the reference voltage is instead connected to the 3.3V supply.

I thought, that using the internal reference would give you a better accuracy on the ADCs, which should result in better FOC accuracy. Also, if the ADCs are used to measure temperature etc. this would give more accurate results.

So why is the voltage reference not used by default? Am I missing something important here?

Cheers,
