I used to developing a servo driver with PMSM FOC SDK 2.0 in STM32F103 MCU. And I wanna make a new control board with STM32F417ZG because of its floating point unit. Can I use the SDK2.0 in F4 directly or do something. I can't find any migration information between F1 and F4 on ST website.
And I plan to update the SDK from 2.0 to 3.0, but I cant get the source code of PMSM SDK3.0 from Chinese distributor, so can someone send me the source code. Thanks a lot.

Hello Ding,
STM32F103 and STM32F4xx have slight difference in terms of peripherals. Working with SDK v2.0 I think it's not very user friendly to apply the right modifications on the FW. On the other hand, we are working on the SDK v3.2, it will also support - other than F100 and F103 series - F2xx and F4xx family (always with integer number representation for the time being). We expect to have web distribution of this new library by February 2012; depending on business details we may also arrange for you a beta release of the same FW by the end of January/beg of February. To get source file of the web distribution v3.0 (that is the so called confidential distribution), ask your distributor to contact ST sales offices. Best Regards, Billino2011-12-22 07:12 PM
Hi Billino,
Thank you for your reply. I’m glad to try the new MC library when you finished. I always use Keil to develop the STM32s, so the project supported by Keil will be better. My Email:

, looking forward to your new release. Thanks.

Hello Billino,
just wondering how v3.2 is coming along...it's already mid-March - is it already available for download? cheers2012-05-03 06:44 PM
I am a field application engineer working at a distributor in china. For now, STM32F4 motor control and frequency converter is the most suitable application. So MC libraries is the most important factor for customer's evaluation. so we expect to this libraries can release as soon as possible. If not. STM32F4 very difficult to promote.
Now TI's TMS320F2000 and LM4XXX, freescale Cortex-M4 is quickly promote.2012-05-06 10:56 AM
I'd like an update on the v3.2 expected date as well if you can give one.

I'm also looking for this for use with the STM32F4-Discovery to run sensorless brushless FOC, I saw references to SDK 3.2 but no place to download it.
The UM1052 PDF is available for download, that says ''STM32F103xx/STM32F100xx/STM32F2xx/STM32F4xxPMSM single/dual FOC SDK v3.2''And it refers to the M4 here too, and it was published in March. But there's no link to a motor control lib v3.2.Does the 3.2 lib exist? Is it a ''confidential'' release?2012-07-09 03:23 AM
Take a look at [DEAD LINK /public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/motor_control/Flat.aspx?RootFolder=/public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/motor_control/STM32%20FOC%20PMSM%20SDKv3.2%20Confidential%20distribution%20available%20under%20request&FolderCTID=0x01200200770978C69A1141439FE559EB459D7580005A810128153A7244A21980BD49736843&TopicsView=https%3a//my.st.com/public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/motor_control/AllItems.aspx¤tviews=0]this post

I contacted my local support office again today, spoke with the motor control rep, and was told the STM32 FOC PMSM SDKv3.2 ''Confidential distribution'' was not available at this time and there is currently no scheduled release date where I might be able to obtain a copy.
Is its release available upon request or not? What would be the best way to obtain a copy?2012-08-02 12:25 AM
The STM32 FOC lib. 3.2 - Confidential distribution has been released 6th of July.
Please ask him to contact microcontroller division or the motor control headquarters in Catania. Ciao Gigi
