QSPI drivers available from ST?

Ricko

Hi,

where can I find a list of all the drivers/libraries supplied by ST?

In particular, because of the need for fast time to market, I am trying to find those for all QSPI flash ICs so I can choose external flash (for video and graphics) accordingly (mainly those that can be used with DMA).

Thank you

Thank you @Tesla DeLorean

ST has a rather limited sub-set of supported HW, basically the parts THEY put on boards, not a more general and inclusive / exhaustive sets of parts.

The QSPI NOR FLASH parts can be considered more the same than different.

All support a generic 24-bit (16MB / 128Mb) addressing / read scheme, and then some different initialization magic to use 4-pin modes, use 4-bit transfers, and 32-bit addressing.

The address space decode window in the STM32 is 256MB (2Gbit) for these parts.

The SOIC16W (300 mil) foot print is the most universal over vendors, although some of the larger multi-die (stacked) parts are only available in BGA24 foot prints.

For large storage eMMC devices can be used in place of SD Cards.

I probably wouldn't be using F4 parts in 2024, the H7Ax / H7Bx might be more suitable.
