STM32L4A6VGT6P - is the SMPS optional?

I am in the process of designing a new controller for a product and the only processors that seem available in any quantity are the -P versions. The datasheet isn't clear for these if the SMPS is optional and you can just use the internal LDO, or if you *have* to supply the core voltage separately on these devices.

If we are just losing two I/Os then that's not a problem, if we have to add an external power circuit then it's a different matter.

The datasheet seems to suggest it is the former, but I'd prefer some clarfication on this so I don't design a dud board without realising!

Thanks.

You can still use the LDO on this chip, you just lose some pins due to the SMPS capability.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping.
