Detect external NFC antenna connected to CR95HF.

Hi,

We are using NFC reader IC: CR95HF using uart communication with our micro-controller.

We are using external antenna for antenna, Is there any way to detect NFC antenna is connected to CR95HF ?

Hi Jignesh,

Depending on your application, I would see several way for checking that the antenna is functional.

use the Pollfield command and check the result code when the CR95HF is in the operating field of another reader. See §5.5 in the datasheet.
use the TagDetection calibration procedure: when the antenna is disconnected/broken, the calibration value should be highly different from the one in nominal condition. See §5.9 in the datasheet.
add a field detector (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTv4U5fotM0), switch on the field and check that the field is present.

can you elaborate on your need:

Is it for production testing?
Is it for integrity testing during lifetime of your product?
etc.
