We are using STEVAL-SPIN3204 .While we testing the evaluation board,when we unplug the USB cable we are missing 12 volt @ VREG12,that is pin number 6 of STSPIN32F04B.

We are using STEVAL-SPIN3204 .While we testing the evaluation board,when we unplug the USB cable we are missing 12 volt @ VREG12,that is pin number 6 of STSPIN32F04B.Also the motor turned of.Also when we plug the USB cable 12 Volt coming back & Motor also start running.We dont understand why this happening.Can Anybody help to sortout this problem because we already designed a board using this refrence design.And while we tested we are not getting 12 Volt.

Hello @TGeor.1​,

in the STEVAL-SPIN3204 please check the jumper J8 status (refer to board schematic).

If it is closed (default position) when you remove the USB it is possible that the T_NRST signal reset the STSPIN32F0B through the NRST line.

If the device is reset the GPIO configuration is lost, the PF6 and PF7 lines are pulled low by internal pull down and the device enters in standby mode.

When the standby mode is set the analog IC, the 12V linear regulator is switched off.

Could you check if opening the J8, change this board behavior?

In any case it is not a good idea to remove the USB cable while the motor is running.

After the board programming, I suggest to stop the system open the J8 jumper and then unplug the USB cable.

Thank you very much.The problem got solved in STEVAL-SPIN3204.

Actually why we tested this evaluation board because we designed a BLDC motor board based on STEVAL-SPIN3204 schematics except the part ST-LINK(STM32F103CBT6).Means we used only the STSPIN32F0B part.

While we power up the board(24V INPUT)

1, We are getting 3.3V(PIN NO:9) @SW PIN.We are using this 3.3V to power up external components on this Board

2,After power up 3.3V is @NRST#(PIN NO:7)

3, All other connections are same as per your Schematics(STEVAL-SPIN3204)

PROBLEM

We are not getting 12V(PIN NO:6) @VREG12 PIN

We are not using this 12V Linear regulator output to powerup any external components on this board.

could you share your board schematic?

Whereas you do not have the ST-Link part, how did you program the device?

We sort out the problem. Actually this was a misunderstanding from our part. The board wasn't programmed. And we expect 12 Volt when we power up the board.

So when we programmed the board we got the 12 Volt. And it works well.

I confirm that without programming the device, the internal 12V linear regulator is not working (the reason is the same as described above).
