Question about L6480 BUSY/SYNC pin SYNC output

Hi all,

Regarding to L6480 datasheet, STEP_MODE register has SYNC_EN bit and SYNC_SEL. if SYNC_EN bit is set high, then SYNC output provides a clock signal according to the SYNC_SEL parameter. the sync signal is obtained starting from electrical position info EL_POS register.

I am quite understand how does this work. Can someone explain it more. Lets say SYNC_EN = 1; SYNC_SEL = 000; what should I expect BUSY/SYNC output provides?

I know this is the output of clock signal according to the EL_POS. Can this be useful to sync with reading quadrature encoder?
