I use ST L6470 with unipolar motor.
L6470 is biplar type dirver, so I unconnected com line of unipolar motor. motor spec is below: MAKER: sanyo denki type : 103H5210-0480 1.2A/1.8DEGREE/3.3OHM. because unconnected com line, resistor is 6.6Ohm. I apply DC24V in the motor. The problem is that motor is not reached 1500PPS. under 1000PPS, motor is well opeared. Is it problem thar unipolar motor is used not bipolar? I changed all variable factor(acc, dec, kval, etc...), but it reached 1500PPS. what is wrong? #d2013-12-16 04:37 AM
Hello,
Unipolar motors can usually also operate in bipolar mode. Your issue could be related to resonances. Please, try the following: - Set the full-step speed (FS_SPD register) to the maximum. Voltrage mode driving gives best results in microstepping operation - Add a small mechanical load to the motor shaft in order to shift the resonance point and dampen the vibration. Hello,
did you try to add a mechanical load on the motor shaft? This could be a resonance issue. Regards Enrico
